Colbert Takes on Olbermann in Wacky Segment

At least we can say Stephen Colbert will mock anyone. Last week we brought you a segment where the Comedy Central star took on Rush Limbaugh’s “ching chong” Chinese impersonation. Yesterday, Colbert turned his attention to the biggest, unemployed media personality of this past weekend — Keith Olbermann. And it was epic.
The premise is this: when a media personality retires or goes off the air, Colbert does a bit where he absorbs that person’s power. But when Colbert tried to absorb Olbermann’s, his body rejected it like a “pompous kidney.” What ensues is a segment that involves a sword, lightning, wigs, and “Keith Olbermug.” Epic:

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 12:53pmyeah id like to see glenn beck on stewart or vice versa, he goes on and on about a ‘battlefield of ideas’ and the need for debate but only has folk he agrees with on his show. at least o’reilly invited liberals on even if he just shouts at them

Posted on January 26, 2011 at 3:27amI don’t really see Glenn as someone who can hold his own in a debate. He seems more of a scripted/preachy kind of host to me. It would be interesting to see though.

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 9:33amAnd then they boxed up Keith Olbermug and sent him to the same place they sent the Ark of the Covenant in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Never to be seen again. The end. (thank GOD)

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 9:22amI loved it. But they messed up the ending.
Here is my ending.
*The essence of Olbermann goes to someone on the stage perhaps a stage hand.
*As Cobert says where did Olbermann essence go. The stage hand screams: “What has happened to me. I can not go on like this.”
*He runs to a high place such as the roof and jumps off to his supposed death. But we see that he floats instead of falls to his death.
*He screams: “the essence of Olbermann ego is so inflated that I can not even jump to my death.”
*He runs off end of scene after trying to swim through the air toward the ledge of what he jumped off.
*Perhaps later he tries to buy pills at a drug store to O.D. But when the pharmacists or drug dealer hears the way he talks they think he’s a lunatic and call the police and he then is seen being strapped in a straight jacket and put away for a long long time.
Colbert call me. Maybe I can help your show out. lol

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 7:30amThat was funny! Good bye, Olbermann, you were a lousy sports commentator and an even worse newscaster (if you can even be called that?). I’m sure you will land on your feet but hopefully it will be in Cuba or Venzuela, one of those countries where they let you say what you want without consequences.

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 8:33amHe was actually a very good sports anchor…..sportscenter with Patrick and Olberman was must see tv on Sunday nights for many years for most sports fans. Had he stuck with sports he might be a little lighter in the wallet but likely wouldn’t have so many folks that hate him..

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 7:28amVery funny! If anything happens to Colbert, and he ends up on a cold slab, we’ll know why. I love the line, “I can’t do it! I can’t do it! My body is rejecting Keith like a pompous kidney!”

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 8:54amA site like this is about the only place I ever choose to see Olbermann or Colbert or Jon Stewart, etc., when they are being mocked or their lunacy is being highlighted. It is particularly pleasing to watch them mock each other, as if they didn’t even understand the irony in that.

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 7:28amVery funny indeed…However I do not like Colbert, he doesn’t realize that it is patriotic to tell the government ENOUGH with the rape. All most reps know is MORE please…Think I might want to throw this out there before I get tons of replies against me, both parties oppose one another on the same coin. I can‘t emphasis ’same’ enough.

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 1:12pmI miss you Keith. Since he left (or got fired) from MSNBC, I have felt it hard to find another show that was as hard hitting as his. With sources like “a conservitive blogger” and “ a conservitive web site” he sure knew his facts. And so what if the facts don’t fit, a little edit here, find a nut there, put the two together and some how tie them to the right and boom!, You have a show with little to no facts attacking those on the right. Really, I challenge anyone to sit down and try to write down all the sources some one like Ed Schultz sites during his show. Then watch Glenns and do the same. So what if Glenn has more facts, audio/video clips of people saying the things he claims they’re saying, according to Ed, Keith, and others, he’s a nut for even bringing it up. I don’t want ANY of these people fired, they help the right more then the left.

Posted on January 25, 2011 at 2:28pmWhy does the Blaze report on the stupidity of the shows and not their legitimate content? This same day on the Daily Show Jon Stewart pointed out a major flaw of the Fox News network (in that it holds itself to a different standard than all others, it is hypocritical of others, and it straight out lies), but the Blaze chooses to put this clip up as “news”?
Give me a break.
