Colbert to MSNBC’s Scarborough: ‘You Look…Like Evening Joe Brought to You by Jack Daniel‘s’

Stephen Colbert Jokes With Scarborough, Talks Herman Cain on Morning JoeMove over “Kids Say the Darndest Things,” because it‘s Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert, host of the network’s popular “Colbert Report,” who never ceases to come up with hilarious political quips.

Earlier this morning, the comedian and host appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where he discussed his love for Herman Cain, his “presidential run,” South Carolina‘s fight in the Civil War and Newt Gingrich’s extramarital affairs, among other subjects.

But among the comedy, Colbert took a hilarious swipe at host Joe Scarborough and the show’s partnership with popular coffee company Starbucks.

“I don‘t understand how you can be ’Morning Joe brought to you by Starbucks,’ because when I see you, you look more like ‘Evening Joe brought to you by Jack Daniel’s,’” Colbert said.

This comment was especially striking, considering the bizarre promo advertisement that MSNBC created back in November. The mock ad, which pictured the show’s male co-hosts — most notably Joe Scarborough — as irresponsible smokers and boozers, gained quite a bit of attention. The debauchery, of course, took place in the evening, which makes the “Evening Joe” reference that more more relevant.

Colbert went on to encourage voters to pull for Cain in South Carolina, yet another jocular comment considering that the contender suspended his campaign in early December. That being said, his name will still appear on the state’s GOP ballot — something Colbert hopes to gain from.

“Herman Cain has qualities I admire,” Colbert said. “He’s a family man, he’s pro business, he has something I don‘t think I’ll ever have — a place on the South Carolina ballot. If people hunger for a Colbert candidacy, they should vote for Herman Cain.”

Watch these comments, among others, below:

“On Stephen Colbert’s endorsement of himself as Herman Cain, I find it very clever and humorous, as it should be,” Cain responded in an interview with Fox411. “Anyone who finds what Mr. Colbert is doing offensive, should simply lighten up. To be perfectly clear, I will not be assuming Stephen Colbert’s identity. We are very different when it comes to the color of our – hair.”

The two will be hosting an event together later today. US News has more:

…Colbert announced that he will be appearing with former presidential hopeful Herman Cain at a rally at the College of Charleston in South Carolina this Friday. The event, titled “The Rock Me Like a Herman Cain: South Cain-olina Primary Rally,” promises to be a spectacle.

“There will be speeches, there will be cheerleaders, there will be a marching band and a gospel choir,” Colbert said on his show, The Colbert Report, last night.

Here’s an ad that Colbert put out in support of “Herman Cain” (a.k.a. Stephen Colbert) in South Carolina:

Not everyone finds Colbert’s most recent statements and actions entertaining, though. On Thursday, MSNBC’s Chuck Todd spoke at Winthrop University, where he tackled the issue, while calling the media out for promoting the comedian’s antics.

“Is it fair to the process? Yes, the process is a mess, but he’s doing it in a way that it feels as if he’s trying to influence it with his own agenda, that may be anti-Republican,” Todd said. “And we in the media are covering it as a schtick and a satire, but it’s like, ‘Well wait a minute here…’ he’s also trying to do his best to marginalize the candidates, and we’re participating in that marginalization.”

I can’t watch Colbert for two reasons:
    1. He’s completely boring after just one show.
    2. That freakish ear. I find myself staring at it and lose my appetite.

Colbert is a pasty faced white guy and a number one Jack ass. He has never really been funny and is a failure as a comic. Most democrat leftwing comics are not funny at all; when was the last time Rosie Odonnell, Bill Maher, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, et al were funny; they are simply shills for the Left Wing Democrat party and its Marxists allies. Ranting and raving and calling people names is their main feature; fortuantely for them there are thousands of very rich media owners who are willing to pay top bucks for trash.

I realize Colbert is just a moron comedian, but with the lefty Democrat election fraud machine out there in full force, I can’t help but feel like this Colbert stunt just further trivializes what should be a sanctity to our election process.

In a statement, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) praised Daniels as “a fierce advocate for smaller, less costly and more accountable government” and said that he “has the record to prove it.”

“For making tough choices and keeping his promises, Mitch Daniels is the right choice at the right time to deliver the Republican response to President Obama’s address,” Boehner added.

Mitch Daniels is the former budget director of GWB, when he took the job we had a nearly 130 billion dollar budget surplus by the time he left we had a nearly 380 billion dollar deficit. One of his other responsibilities was estimating the cost of the Iraq war, of which he gave an estimate of 50 to 60 billion only missing by 740 billion. I would agree he has a proven track record.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) called Daniels “an eloquent spokesman for limited government” and said that he “knows that President Obama’s three-year experiment in big government has made our economy worse and our future more uncertain, and he knows that Americans want a government that’s simpler, streamlined and secure.”

Can we all agree that supporting Herman Cain was a big mistake. Plenty of folks warned us and they were right and we former Cain supporters were wrong. Herman Cain was a joke as a candidate. Still I like the guy.

Nope I do not think it was a mistake. I might IF the allegations were being played out in the courts right now. I do not believe that is happening, please correct me if i am wrong.
Character assassination by parties unknown to us the public, does not make us wrong. This simply shows how filthy politics have become in this country.

      STEELHEAD,
      Um….,comedic genius? No…,he is not.
He may be funny in unfunny times to some people….,but to the citizenry who see this nation in dire straits he is not funny….,much less a comedic genius.
Colbert is an opportunist. He plays to an audience that is clueless to the reality of the demise of the United States because they are too freaking lazy and spoiled to learn the truth..
Colbert, like his mentor Jon Stewart is just one of many Neros who “fiddles while Rome burns”.

He and Stewart are both cowards. They feed off this country’s largesse while abetting the plunge into the abyss.

I am weary of both of them. They do so much damage to our country. They do not care.
And they do it for filthy lucre.

      DISGRACIER!
