Colorado Billboard Features ‘Terrorist, Gangster, Bandit, Gay’ Obama

A Colorado billboard depicting what the artist considers the “four faces” of President Barack Obama is causing quite a stir among Grand Junction residents. The “four Obamas” portray the commander-in-chief as a terrorist, a gangster, a Mexican bandit and a gay man all seated around a poker table, gambling with items representing American values, including a copy of the Declaration of Independence, a liberty bell, a toy soldier and a statue of Justice holding a balance.

In addition, the Obama caricatures shows numerous rats, some of which are labeled as IRS, trial lawyers, the EPA and the Fed. At the top is the rallying slogan, “Vote DemocRAT. Join the game,” positioned between two vultures.

The political cartoon is being paid for by a local man who wants to remain anonymous. In an interview with local KJCT News 8, the billboard’s artist, Loma resident Paul Snover, said the unnamed sponsor wanted to “represent the influences he saw the president as having in his administration.”

Snover said he‘s unable to name the billboard’s sponsor, but suggested the parody‘s message should’ve gone even further. “If it had been me, I would have included the Republicans as part of the problem,” he said.

Snover says the billboard represents satirical political humor, but, many aren’t laughing.  Mesa County Democratic Party Chairwoman Martelle Daniels has denounced the work as “racist” and “homophobic.“ ”It doesn’t incite any type of intelligent response to whatever they are trying to represent,” Daniels said. “It’s racist, it’s homophobic, it’s terrible.”

Like Daniels, Republican Party Chairman Chuck Pabst said he doesn’t like the billboard because it doesn’t further a dialogue about the president or his policies. “That kind of political positioning and statements, I think, are in bad taste,” Pabst said. “It’s reprehensible and disrespectful, and that’s not what any honorable person would put forth. To ridicule somebody in this manner is juvenile.”

“It is one person’s impression of what the country has gone to. How everything has been taken from the United States and not really been brought back. And our values have pretty much gone to the crud,” resident Yoge Mitchum told KJCT.

      Was thinking the same thing as well. “phobic” is fear, I don’t see anything in the billboard relating to fear, only disapproval. The lamestream media is clearly Christphobic, but to credit of Christians we don’t see the same sort of name calling as occurs from the other direction.

    They should place WorldNetDaily’s “Where’s the birth cirtificate” right next to it.

    In America, we have freedom of speech, thought and expression. That is what makes America so different from the rest of the world. In many countries, both the person paying for the sign and the artist would be in a “Re-education” camp or worse. While some may not like the content and others cheer both the creator of the sign and the artist who painted it, as Americans it is our perogative to express out opinions.

    There have been many offensive cartoons about Bush, Regan, Clinton and Obama. Most of them never made it to a billboard. This is a novel idea. Many times I have sait that if I ever won the lottery I would place a billboard showing scientists hard at work with test tubes boiling and having the capiton:

    CAUTION!!! GOVERNMENT SCIENTISTS HAVE DETERMINED THAT LIVING IS HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH.

      I’m actually quite indifferent when it comes to the billboard. I think its inane and childish but really couldn’t care less about it. Just thought cheez’s hypocrisy was interesting but I understand it, if it offends you then its trash and shouldn’t be allowed but if you support it then it is free speech and liberals are whiners.       You would have a point if that artwork had been publicly funded, while the museum itself is grant funded the exhibit containing the piece WAS not. It was freely offered by Colorado printer Bud Shark. Arguing that it shouldnt be in the grant funded museum then would also be applicable to the billboard as well because since 1965 the State transportation departments maintain “effective control of the erection and maintenance” of signs, displays, or devices, including outdoor advertising signs that are visible from the highway

      somebody employed a local artist, to do contracted work— ah!! I love the spirit of Capitalism!! The artist then took his $ and maybe paid his rent, bought luxury items and enjoyed a few sweet meals at local dining establishments, redistributing the wealth as HE sees fit, NOT by Governement Order!!!       Geez people, the billboard is SYMBOLIC in a cartoonish way!!!!

      Obama is not a terrorist, but is soft on Iran, Al-Qaeda, and doesn’t even use the words “Islamic terrorism”

      Obama is not a gangster that has people killed, but he did bribe public servants to pass Obamacare.

      Obama is not a Mexican drug-smuggler, but he hasn’t secured the border (or even Arizona!).

      Obama is not gay, but he is ramming “social justice” down the throats of the military by working to repeal DADT.

      This is not racist, it is a symbolic repudiation of his policies with cartoon caricatures.

      It also makes the point that Obama thinks he is an elitist that “be anything to anybody”, when really he only tries to stand on both sides of the fence for political gain.

      You know, there have been far worse political cartoons. I think there were some downright nasty ones back a couple hundred years ago. Archaeologists even found 3000 year old dirty cartoons in a cave in Egypt depicting the queen in, shall we say, a compromising position? Satire is as old as time and still funny! I laugh, haHA!

      As for being racist, well, I don’t see a “white’ obama on the board, even though, his mother was white!
      There is nothing wrong with a good joke, and this is a good one. Anyone who cries about this, really has issues within themselves, and should not try and project those issues on others..instead, they should have themselves checked into the nearest mental institution, and get a life!

      Count me among the lovers of it as it, like all great comedy and satire, is couched in the truth. It‘s the truth that these people can’t handle and they’ll do anything to prevent it from being spoken and do it with the PC spear.

      Come to think of it…….I bet it’s only a matter of time before some liberal climbs up there to deface that billboard.
