(The Blaze/AP) A bomb that seriously injured two people in a Colorado town was left beside their car in a paper bag with their names written on it, police said Sunday.
Allyson Stone, 44, and her husband, 59-year-old Christopher Stone, were hospitalized with burns after the explosion on Saturday in Lafayette. No other information about the couple or the device had been released.
The couple found the bag as they were preparing to drive to Boulder, and they put it in the car with them, police said. Christopher Stone told investigators it exploded as his wife began to open it when they had driven about a block.
9 News reports that officers say they have a suspect, but haven’t released any details.
About 20 homes were evacuated as police investigated. Residents were allowed to return about eight hours later when no other explosives were found. Police have said they believe the Stones were the target and that the public wasn’t in danger.
Allyson Stone received death threats in 2010 after a dog bit her and the case went to court, The Denver Post reported. The dog could have been put to death under vicious-animal statutes but was spared. Authorities have said they don‘t believe the explosion was related to that incident but hadn’t ruled it out.
The FBI and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were assisting in the investigation.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 2:15pmIf I took every threat on my life as a warning I would be crazy by now. No; most people would not think that finding a bag with their name on it to be strange or something to worry about. It takes a lot of hate to do something like this to anyone anytime.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 10:46amWhy would they pick up a paper bag and put it in their car in the first place???
This smells funny!

If I found a bag with my name on it, I’d look too.

If the movtivation of this crime is over a dog bite and as a professional belive the dog should be put down then for the sake of others she os probably rite. But to set a bomb because you disagree is just to stupid , terroristic and crazy.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 7:30amI must say I have to agree. There are three things that I am sick to death of already: those idiotic “that was so 42 seconds ago …” cell phone commercials, the Iowa Caucus and Ron Paul.
ENOUGH ALREADY.
You Ron Paul people are as bad – or maybe even worse – than the “Barack Obama Is Our Saviour” morons we’ve put up with the last four years. Give it a rest.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 1:35amFLASH: Illinois has just passed a law that anyone who sends OR receives a package must show ID and fill out a comprehensive form and sign it. That should stop all this nonsense.

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 4:25pm@rREDDAWN2012 FLASH: do you think a package beside the car was put there by the post office? ILLINOIS is the land of stupid regulations that are ineffectual. Those who will fill out forms for security are destined to fill out forms without security. Only law abiding citizens will fill out the forms.

Posted on January 8, 2012 at 9:56pmConspiracy much? Seriously, I’m a RP fan, but some of us (you) tend to be exactly what everyone else hates about him, and aren’t helping our cause For starters. how about some dadgum consistency? We rail against others making prejudicial judgments about prisoners of the so called war on terror, but you have no problem blindly accusing a group of people of attempted murder, WITH ZERO EVIDENCE! And, this is solely on the fact that they don’t also support Ron Paul? You obviously haven‘t been paying attention to much of Paul’s core beliefs or convictions, or you just like to tell people you support him, because it makes you feel smart, or cool. Grow the freak up already.

If these two people die, they should both be awarded the Darwin Award.
People, always be aware of your surroundings. I’ve received many comments from friends and family about me always being alert, always looking over my shoulder, and always paying attention to details. It has saved me many times. I will not be a victim.
