Colorado Man Charged With Assault After Using Nunchucks in ‘Self-Defense’

Most people prefer a shotgun or pistol for home defense, but at least one Colorado man claims he had to use a weapon associated with martial arts legend Bruce Lee and assorted movie ninjas: nunchucks.Colorado Man Claims Nunchucks Used in Self Defense

Eric Glukowsky stands accused of felony assault after he claims he was forced to use his nunchucks to defend himself and his girlfriend after an intruder entered his Larimer County, Colorado apartment last week.

Police, however, stated that Glukowsky wasn’t defending himself and instead injured two people with the ancient sticks, which are classified under Colorado law as a deadly weapon. Police also said Glukowsky barricaded himself into his apartment and they had to use a foam baton to break his window to access the apartment.

At that point, Glukowsky surrendered.

For his part, Glukowsky told a very different story before his court appearance in Larimer yesterday. He claimed he was defending himself against a drunk, belligerent man. He explained the intruder forced his way into the apartment, and even claimed he was an undercover sheriff’s deputy carrying a loaded weapon, and added that after the incident, he took sleeping pills and didn’t hear police when they called for him to come outside.

Colorado Man Claims Nunchucks Used in Self Defense

“You just don‘t break yourself into somebody’s apartment, wanting to fight,” he told the local news regarding the incident. “And I had a pair of nunchucks on my TV stand, and I wacked him on the head with ‘em. And pushed him out, while he was punching me.”

Glukowsky believes he should be protected under Colorado’s “Make My Day” law, which protects citizens from prosecution if they are protecting their homes.

While the court tries to sort out whether this was a justified use of nunchucks, KUSA-TV reports initial background checks on Glukowksy show a lengthy criminal history that includes DUI, criminal trespassing and theft. In addition to that, there are reports the police have found inconsistencies in Glukowsky’s testimony.

I spent a good number of years training and competing in submission fighting, brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing, and kick boxing (MMA). I also did high school wrestling.

I love real fighting, and the sort of training that goes along with it, but i am very cautions with the more traditional “martial arts” types. There are some real weird cats that hang out at these places. Can not say I ever met a real normal person that was serious about nunchucks.

any weapon is a good weapon to defend yourself. Knives, chains, guns, sticks and even nunchucks. As long as he really was defending himself and not playing ninja attacking random people.

      Hey, Ranger~

I have no training in nunchucks. They were a gift from my brother and I had them on my t.v. stand. I was getting punched inside of my home and had to do something. I am a former U.S. Marine and have the exact kind of training that you do. The guy who broke into my home said he had a gun. What else was I supposed to do? Thank you for you service and Happy Veteran’s Day! OORAHH!

I agree. I shut down my electronic system because it only works after someone breaks in. My dogs warn an intruder and if he continues in…… he’s lunch. The dogs like it that way. If I am home and they alarm me, I resort to one of a variety of gun manufacturer’s products depending on my fancy and his numbers. When I lived in a major metro area and had a break-in, the cops said I was lucky it happened when I was not home because I could have got hurt. I explained nope, I would have shot the sucker. One mealy mouthed cope said I couldn’t’ live with myself if I shot someone. I replied…….. the first one didn’t affect me at all. The only thing I felt was recoil…………..

This is exactly why you should never only hurt a person that breaks into your home. I don’t know about Colorado but in most states you can have weapons in your home and protect yourself from attacks.

Questions: 1) Who called the police? 2) Were the people who entered illegally charged with a crime? 3) Why would the police enter through a window and not the front door? (we’re talking about an apartment).

I was talking to a guy today that used to live in Denver, CO. He moved out in the late 80′s. He told me that nutjobs from California are flocking there by the thousands. Bikers, drug addicts, homeless bums etc. are everywhere. So, I am not suprised that self defense is under attack there. Self defense is practically illegal in CA now, as it is in many Eastern states like NJ, NY and MA. Progs screw up their states then move elsewhere and screw them up too. They must be driven into the ocean. That is the only way to be rid of them.

Those nunchucks were probably made out of wood. People cannot walk around city streets and feel safe as long as dangerous nunchuck-making trees are still legal. Government should ban the growing of trees immediately or at least implement a ‘common sense’ regulatory program restricting the production of dangerous timber precursors. Dianne Feinstein should spearhead a campaign to ban all trees with ‘high-capacity‘ leaves or ’assault’ branches.

Of course those idiot conservatives will start their usual ignorant rhetoric of “Trees don’t kill people; people kill people. Thankfully, Hillary Clinton is already bypassing Congress to address this issue with the Tiny Topiary Treaty she is pushing through the United Nations.

The headline is not accurate. It’s not clear at all that this man was in fact defending himself. Why is the headline written as if the writer knows it’s self defense? It’s just a pathetic attempt to gin up controversy over something before the facts are even known.

The headline is perfectly accurate. Note that “in self defense” is in quotes. That means that somebody was claiming self defense but the truth of it is dubious. The whole scene smells fishy and the way the headline states it makes that clear.

Would you say, if all of this was true, it was better than using a gun. But the PC crowd. after hearing this will probably demand that nun-chucks users should be licensed, only after taking a course in the use of nun-chucks, of course.

Of course history repeats itself because men become glamorized by their own image. Jesus said that you will hear many people say, “there is Jesus, and over there is Jesus, but do not believe them.” As a matter of history, when Jesus came, all the doubters called him the devil, and that he came in the power of Satan. Moreover, when your Father finally comes, the churches which are the synagogues of Satan, those churches will call Jesus “Satan” because Jesus will interfere with their hold on power. They will say, “He is off his meds, and that he escaped from the asylum.” Moreover, almost in the exact say way the powers currently in charge are trying to make the doers of society appear like zombies.
If you actually hear what I just wrote, then you will see how everyone works for God for the larger picture, and even bad people even the devil.
See how I compared the way they are comparing zombies to the GOP, and that I took what they were saying and used it to show you how they attack Jesus?
That’s me using their own sword against them. When you divide yourself from the events of the day, and realize that everyone works for God whether they know it or not, then you can easily conquer and use their language against them for good.

      Shooting Advice:

Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not to protect you.

Never let someone or thing that threatens you get inside arm’s length and never say “I’ve got a gun”. If you feel you need to use deadly force for heaven’s sake let the first sound they hear be the safety clicking off, and they shouldn’t have time to hear anything after that if you are doing your job.

The average response time of a 911 call is over 23 minutes… the response time of a .44 magnum is 1400 feet per second.

The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win – and cheat if necessary.

Don’t forget, incoming fire has the right of way.

Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets. You may get killed with your own gun, but he’ll have to beat you to death with it, cause it’s going to be empty.

If you‘re not shooting’, you should be loading’. If you‘re not loading’, you should be moving’, if you‘re not moving’, someone’s going to cut your head off and put it on a stick.

Do something. It may be wrong, but do something.

Shoot what’s available, as long as it’s available, until something else becomes available.

If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. That’s ridiculous. If you have a gun, what in the hell do you have to be paranoid for?

Don’t shoot fast, unless you also shoot good.

You have the rest of your life to solve your problems. How long you live depends on how well you do it.

      You cannot save the planet,
