GUNNISON, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a tour bus has crashed on an icy central Colorado highway and eight people are seriously injured.
The Colorado State Patrol says the accident occurred about 8:20 p.m. MST Saturday on Highway 114 near Gunnison.
The patrol says the bus operated by Gotta Go Express Trail Ways was carrying 46 people when it veered off an icy snowpacked roadway and rolled onto its side.
Eight people were rushed by ambulance to a Gunnison hospital with serious injuries. The patrol says many of the other 38 people aboard had minor injuries and they were taken to the hospital by a school bus.
The tour bus was carrying a church group from Denton, Texas, to the town of Crested Butte.
No other details were immediately available.

Though I disagree with his view on many things, Beckisnuts has showed more intelligence and levelheadedness with his words, while the rest simply use obscenities and nonsense to make their “point”. How do we expect to be listened to, among our peers, friends, or neighbors, and taken seriously, if our language is filled, not with the truth, but with base, useless words?

Posted on December 19, 2010 at 6:39pmSlimranger, thanks for your last sentence. The rest is rambling and condenscending however. I supported Barry Goldwater for President when you may well have been in short pants, so it‘s safe to say I’m no young man. If your beliefs in spiritualism helps you make it through the day, that’s your business. Please don’t try to drag me into your dream world though. It‘s only human to feel more confident in one’s delusions if one believes everyone else is similarily stricken, but I’ll remain happily living in reality. There’s so much to love about life and science continues to make new discoveries which keep me on the edge of my seat. I really don’t feel the need to immerse myself in the explanations for the world created by other primates that died thousands of years ago. Thanks all the same and have a Merry Christmas as well.

Posted on December 19, 2010 at 1:43pmSome of you may remember a spectacular, fiery crash a gasoline truck that badly damaged the interstate at the Golden Gate Bridge in 2007.
Report Post »Since there had been warnings about terrorists targeting bridges and using trucks as WMDs, I got curious and did a little looking.
that same weekend (I think 29 April) there were four similar crashes involving gas trucks driving too fast and turning over and burning interstate highways. One in TX, FL, and I think PA, hard to remember the details.
With the mind of an artist I notice patterns. It makes one wonder.

Posted on December 19, 2010 at 1:11pm60yroldfemale, I do think that you have a valid point. In today’s post 911 world we do need to be vigilant and always watching our backs. I think that the sheer number of church group bus accidents for the most part happen because there are so many of good Christian Americans out doing the work of the Lord that just by the great numbers that are on the road traveling to do Heavenly Fathers work that there are going to be a lot of accidents. I appreciate your prospective because some of them may have very well been intentional. With the extent that these Muslim extremists will go to kill Americans we should not rule anything out. You have certainly gained a lot of insight and wisdom in your 60 years. God Bless the families and those who were aboard that bus may they recover quickly and be richly blessed for the good works they did and intended to do with the trip they were on that ended so tragically, but praise be to Our Heavenly Father as it could have been much worse.

You then impose that case in a situation where death is simply a change in state. Posted on December 19, 2010 at 10:48pmKate, I was not in any way cutting them any slack for their actions I was more showing what a monster their leader is and that those under Phelps were abused terribly and beaten into submission. There was only one incident where he was beaten 300 times with an axe handle like stick but he was pretty much beaten daily, he was a very tough kid and extremely strong willed and what I was pointing out and probably need to clarify is that while I do not excuse hence my words they are despicable people, Fred Phelps made them that way and what a sorry excuse of a human being he is if you or I had been brainwashed and by misfortune had one of the most evilest people on the planet as our father who daily preached that kind of hate we probably would need some serious intervention to get our heads on straight and not turn out like him. Just like Barack Obama who was raised and surrounded by people with such extreme political views and I as much as I dislike our President as president I can understand how he turned out the way he did. I do not excuse his actions and I strongly disagree with him.
I also vehemently disagree with WBC but Fred Phelps molded them to be who they are. Just like those Muslim extremist take young boys and turn them into suicide bombers, individually they are very accountable for what they do before God but I will tell you Fred Phelps is 100 times more responsible for what is going on than they are just like those terrorist leaders are every bit as guilty as those suicide bombers and Charles Manson carried a much higher degree of guilt than those who carried out the murders. The reason I thought it was over the line what you said is those WBC idiots are so brainwashed they are to be pitied as they are so pitiful. I may be wrong but they are so hateful and despicable sorry excuses for human beings that I actually feel sorry for them but Fred Phelps deserves a lot worse than being on a crashed bus he should be beaten and humiliated like he did those kids.

Posted on December 19, 2010 at 12:28pmThat is way over the line. I find the Westboro Church very very despicable but I put most of the blame right at the feet of Fred Phelps and he will get his on Judgement day for sure.
I recently read some of the history of that Westboro Church as I could not begin to understand how a family cult group could be so centered in hate as many of them look like all American youth other than what they do and are actually very accomplished, and my conclusion from all the research I done is that Fred Phelps is such a controlling Monster that his children have been completely brainwashed and totally used and groomed by him. He had a son Nate who saw through his deceit and manipulation from an early age and was beat so badly on a daily basis sometimes with over 300 strokes with an axe handle as hard as his that old devil could swing it. He had enough of a will that he left on 12:01am on his 18th Birthday never to return. The rest are so under this guys control that they either cannot muster the courage to leave or have been so brainwashed into this since childbirth. The local authorities tried to intervene and put him away for Child torture but this guy is like the #1 trouble maker in the U.S. and the authorities backed down from prosecuting him concluding he would cause them so much trouble they were scared of him. I am not excusing their despicable behavior in anyway but Fred Phelps deserves most all of the blame for what they do as he has made the others into the despicable people they are. It is a very tragic story and only the very strongest Nate and one other brother have left that I saw, and Nate is physically damaged for life because he always tried to stand up to him and had a childhood of hell beyond description.
