A Lap-Dancing ‘Expert?‘ That’s What a Columbia University Ph.D Calls Herself

A Lap Dancing Expert? Thats What a Columbia University Ph.D Calls HerselfJust where, exactly, will a doctorate in anthropology from Columbia University take you in life? For Judith Hanna, Ph.D, it has taken her from the ivy halls of academia to the dimly lit champagne rooms of strip clubs, where she studies the “art” of the lap dance.

While some might envision an anthropologist to be a bespectacled, stern-faced scholar who traverses the globe studying the very bedrocks of civilization, Hanna, instead, treks to strip clubs — and has over 4,000 times in fact — to hone her expertise.

To parlay all this “experience” into a lucrative, full-time career, Hanna provides expert testimony in court for clients, generally strip club owners and exotic dancers, who she says are a targets of the “Christian right.”

But Hanna’s magnum opus might have come recently, when she defended Nite Moves, an “adult” juice bar, and set out to prove why lap dance, as an art-form, should not be subject to sales tax.

FoxBusiness reports:

Nite Moves’s accountants held that lap dances were like other artistic performances, and not subject to sales taxes. The club, armed with Hanna’s expertise, took the auditor before a New York state administrative law judge and won. The auditor, however, appealed.

The court concluded that Nite Moves did not put up sufficient evidence to back its claims. It said that while Hanna viewed stage performances at the club, she did not actually observe the private performances there.

Still, Hanna made what some might call a compelling argument when she explained how lap-dancing is much like ballet, but more “customized.” And, rather than taking place in a grand theater, it takes place “next to a patron’s table“ and sometimes ”on the patron’s lap.” She says:

“The dancer artistically communicates to a patron, through her

choreographed body movement, proximity, touch and dim light, the fantasy of “I am interested in you and you alone. I understand you. You’re special and important to me. I want you. I desire you.”

Here’s a tip, America: stop sending your children to these “institutions”.

Guys, I submit you all missed a vital point here. It is a “juice bar” as opposed one serving alcohol. The rules as such may be a wee bit different – and as such permits folks from the ‘other side of the track’ (from me at least) to visit such places without any navel gazing.

all sorts of dancing can be an Art form.

the women dancing in clubs almost never feel this way about what they are doing. so it’s not art, it’s hustling.

    She says:
‘The dancer artistically communicates to a patron………….. the fantasy
of “I am interested in you…. I understand you. You’re special and important…”

Sounds a lot like what psychotherapists do. I predict lap dancing will be gov’t subsidized soon – with a sliding scale for payment

A professor of anthropology at Columbia ( Henry Louis Gates Jr ) being an old pal of Rashid Kahlidi‘s who was an ol pal of Barry’s, requested some stimulus money to study why some men get excited while having lap dances. Hanna just happened to know Mona Kahlidi ( Arab America Action Network )
and needed a job, so Mona ask her husband Rashid to hold a Beer Summit with the anthropology professor and Rashid called his ol bud Barry………..so you see America, History does have a way of repeating itself.

Because there are a few ‘Wieners’ out there get to sex/sext with many attractive woman, but many other men are unlucky, and do it infrequently with unattractive women. Its only fair that that the goverment makes it fair for everyone.

Just look at the systems being fought for in places like Kuwait and Iran… Sex slavery is making a comeback.

Boy, do you guys have a short memory. Follow the blaze link and read the previous posts. In that thread, everyone was siding with the bar owners right to not pay tax on the “tips” for lap dances. When you tip a waiter, that’s rightfully taxed as income. But Blazers, because they robotically chime in with the headline for a thread (having no independent ideas of their own), spoke out in favor of the bar owners right to not pay taxes, and slammed liberals.

Now here is an “expert” who spoke in DEFENSE of the bar owner. And you’re slamming liberals again. You changed you tune on this one didn’t you?

Really folks, you should develop opinions of your own and not let others tell you what to believe. Seriously.
