Comedian Jokes About Killing Sarah Palin if She’s Elected President

Comedian Titus tells jokes for a living. And in general, they’re supposed to be funny. But is it comedy to joke about killing a possible future president? That’s exactly what he did yesterday when he quipped about hanging out on the “grassy knoll” if Palin is elected in 2012.

“You know what man?” Titus said on “The Adam Carolla Show” podcast. “I am going to literally — if she gets elected president, I am going to hang out on the grassy knoll all the time, just loaded and ready — because you know what? It’s for my country. It’s for my country. If I got to sacrifice myself, it’s for my country.”

His comments were in reference to Palin’s recent telling of the story of Paul Revere and the accusation — and her subsequent defense — that she told the story wrong.

      i saw her try to shoot an elk on her TLC reality show, from like 100 feet away, it probably took her 30 shots or more. took forever. i think the elk was retarded or something, or already dead.

    Well, if he isn’t seen as a threat, and isn’t arrested, maybe, just maybe, someone should find out where he lives, and that person should hang out on that grassy knoll, near this idiot’s house, and maybe just maybe take this fool out….       I guess I’m missing something but Sarah Palin is NOT a public figure, she is a private citizen that gives speeches. She does not old any public office, right? If anything, he could get a citation for misdameanor assault for the threat or slightly more in other states but thats about it. At most, he is threating a future president, IF she gets elected. So now everyone seems to want the government all over this guy and put him away for life/arrested by the FBI for something he says he will do only if Sarah is elected in 2012??? Minority report? Thought police? That’s a slippery slope but it is fun to see everyone jump on the band wagon.

      He needs to be investigated, and if enough evidence shows clear violations of the law, then be sent to trial for a hearing in accordance to the law on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and for the making of threats of bodily harm against another individual.

Paul Revere was a lesser known participant in the event but a Patriot. it was about 100 years later when Longfellow made a poem, Paul Revere rhymed better. Does the left remember the Tea Party, Boston Masacre? which predated the ride. Maybe the leftist history revamping has the british coming ashore like Marines and the Beatles came also.       IF she were a sitting President.

      However, as it stands, she is not even a ‘candidate’ as she has not declared.

      If she had declared candidacy, they may even take action.

      Now for an interesting legal ponderance relevant to the digital internet age.

      If he posts or re-posts that online after she declares candidacy, is it then a threat? The statement was made before candidacy, but it is being heard/viewed forever.
      How about if he posts it now? It will still be viewed/heard forever.
      If anyone takes it as a call to arms in the future, what then?

Since we live in a REPUBLIC and NOT a Democracy, then shouldn’t Sarah be allowed to be a President if the citizens of American vote her into office? This comedian has got something wrong with him if he believes that he can just say anything he wants. If a Conservative said this about Obama……….guess what?

      How about if I don’t like Obama as President, we all threaten to kill him? Would the progressives/liberals like it that someone says THAT? NO, and whoever does threaten the President WILL BE ARRESTED for it. Just because Sarah isn’t President right now, does not mean this guy should not be arrested. HE SHOULD BE ARRESTED for trying induce a crime of murder. It matters not that he is a comedian and trying to be funny. THIS IS JUST PLAIN WRONG!!! Even if he threatened Obama, IT IS WRONG!!!! Someone MIGHT believe him and get the idea that it is ok to harm Sarah. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY that A THREAT OF MURDER IS OPENLY SPOKEN WITHOUT CONSEQUENCES????? Threatening a life should be TABOO AND PUNISHABLE BY A FINE OR JAIL. ARREST THIS COMEDIAN! iI don’t believe this is allowed under the 1st Amendment, just like we are not allowed to yell ‘FIRE!!!” in a crowded theatre or other venue.

      you can’t threaten the president. she’s not the president, she won’t be the president. she’s just a private citizen, and someone that served 18 months as governor. i’m pretty sure he is allowed to say whatever he wants. her paul revere comments weren’t the first stupid thing she said, and won’t be her last. most of the people on this message board have more sense and knowledge about american history than her.

      There is certainly a law that this man violated. If the federal government doesn’t investigate him, perhaps the State in which this comment was made should do so. It is time for us to take back what is constitutionally ours, including states rights. This threat to American freedoms must be takenn down by his swift arrest.
