‘Coming Soon’: Alleged Los Zetas Drug Cartel Graffiti Found in Seattle

“Coming Soon Zetas.”

That’s the warning that was found spray-painted on a concrete bridge over the weekend, possibly left by gang members affiliated with the ruthless Zetas drug cartel in Mexico. But the message wasn’t found in some remote Mexican city somewhere south of the border, it was found in southern Seattle, right here in the United States.

A local gang violence blog, Northwest Gangs, posted a picture of the Zetas message earlier this week. Take a look:

Coming Soon Zetas: Los Zetas Drug Cartel Graffiti Found in Seattle

(Source: Northwest Gangs)

A spokeswoman for the DEA’s Seattle office told Seattle Weekly the “Coming Soon” message is extremely uncommon in the U.S., seemingly hinting that drug cartels do most of their business in Mexico.

“Although it is possible, we do not have any intelligence that graffiti is being used as such domestically by Mexican drug cartels,” DEA spokeswoman Jodie Underwood said in a written statement.

The Seattle Weekly has more details on the Zetas ties to the Pacific Northwest:

Several Mexican drug trafficking organizations do, however, have documented ties to the Pacific Northwest. A series of meth and cocaine busts earlier this year targeted dealers reportedly supplied by the Sinaloa, La Familia, and Beltrán-Leyva cartels.

As for Los Zetas, in April 2011 Mexican authorities arrested a 34-year-old Washington native named Martín Omar Estrada Luna and accused him of leading the massacre of more than 200 migrant workers found buried in mass graves in the Zetas stronghold of San Fernando, Tamaulipas. Luna, nicknamed “El Kilo,” was raised in the Yakima area and grew up a member of the La Raza street gang. He was deported in 2009, and later turned up in Nuevo Laredo.

Los Zetas operate throughout Mexico, but their power is reportedly concentrated in northeast Mexico, Guatemala, and areas along the Atlantic coast — all places far, far away from south Seattle. So while there’s a slim chance the South Park tagging is a warning left by some bonafide Zetas henchmen, it’s more than likely the handiwork of some trifling wannabes. And that’s a good thing. With all the gun violence lately, the last thing Seattle needs is a vicious Mexican turf war.

The creator of the Northwest Gangs website also told Seattle Weekly that he questions the authenticity of the graffiti. He reportedly found it on South Cloverdale Street above Highway 509 in Seattle.

“I am very skeptical,” says Brad, the site’s author, who chooses not to reveal his identity for security reasons. “I doubt it, but you never know I guess. It is the first drug cartel graffiti I’ve ever found in 8 years.”

The Los Zetas cartel was created by rogue members of the Mexican military special forces. The Zetas are considered one of the most deadly cartels in all of Mexico and have carried out gruesome acts of violence against rival cartel members and innocent civilians.

Not really a surprise that the Zetas and criminals in general are attracted to liberal communities and states. Maybe Seattle will offer them free health care and unemployment insurance too.

Between the industrial accidents I kn ow about cause by high people & the result of the 1st & 2nd Arrow Wars I am not keen on “Normalization” of drugs.

With automated self driving cars it would be more of a moot point. I would let drug testing for employment or after an accident sort the rest out.

That & more homeschooling. Kids should be able to go to school via the internet & only need to show up to school for labs and/or testing. It would cut down on the bricks & mortar expense as well as take kids away from drugs.

I love Seattle. I grew up there. I don’t want anything bad to happen to the people of Seattle. But….A dozen or so corpses hanging from an overpass over I-5 or across the Mt. Baker tunnel may actually do more to wake up that bastion of liberal goofyness than all the talking points ever could.
Back in the day Chinese gangs were killing people as fast as they could, check out the Wah Mee massacre. In the 80‘s the Crips and Bloods fought it out in Tacoma’s Hilltop and Seattles Rainier Valley neighborhoods. A Ranger platoon got into a fire fight with some Bloods one Sunday afternoon.

There were some gang shootings the other day and the loads of liberals took to the streets in sandals and socks with their love not hate signs. really quite pathetic even in the yakima area and wenatchee the amount of mexican violence is huge not safe or quaint anymore and they do nothing, law enforcement or ice that is.

I’ve got news for you: they’ve BEEN here for quite awhile already……at least since the passage of NAFTA, anyway:

    ————————————————————–
“With the advent of NAFTA, the drug gangs expanded into many legitimate businesses which could be used for smuggling. U.S. officials have reported on their purchase of airlines, trucking companies, new and used car dealerships, petroleum transport corporations and others. However, the increasing use of intermediaries as owners have made it almost impossible to trace their activities in detail. Operations of this size could not be carried out without at least the passive cooperation of key government agencies. In fact, corruption of the Mexican authorities by the drug cartels is notorious. A former Baja California Mayor showed how hopeless enforcement is by stating that he could pay police $ 300 per month while the drug cartels were offering $1,000 per week.”

A little to bleak of an outlook for me. I do think our country is in need of some repairs, especially in D.C., but I don’t even think this graffiti was actually done by the Zetas. From the AP

EL PASO, Texas — A spokesman for the Border Patrol says it is shutting down nine stations, six of them in Texas, and plans to relocate the 41 agents who work at those outposts to positions nearer the borders.

Border Patrol press officer Bill Brooks says the stations being closed in Texas are in Abilene, San Angelo, Dallas, San Antonio, Lubbock and Amarillo. Stations will also be closed in Billings, Mont.; Twin Falls, Idaho, and Riverside, Calif.

Twin Falls is about 700 miles from the Canadian border, Riverside is 100 miles from the Mexican border and Dallas is 450. Doesn’t it make sense to move the agents to the actual border?

Seattle is a sanctuary city with strong anti-gun sentiments. Many illegal aliens come here and claim to have a local address in order to easily get a Washington State drivers license, and suddenly they’re “legal.” Because the liberals here don’t want us to have guns, the citizens are more vulnerable to crimes. Now they are all a-lather over the gun violence happening around the city, but don’t want to accept the connections.
I used to avoid working in downtown Seattle because of the ugly commute, now I avoid it because I’m concerned about the possibility of getting caught in the crossfire of gangs. Left-leaning companies are too concerned about evil guns causing violence that you can’t use a concealed carry to protect yourself. Now, as I look for work, I have to carefully consider the physical location and the route I would use to get there because misguided policies expose us to greater risk every day.

Our President Welcomes them as long as they were brought here with no fault of their own. Drug Cartel Member holding a Gun to another Member and telling them to go to the U.S. fits that distinction. I have lots of family in Seattle – I *know* the mindset of the locals in Puget Sound…

The Zetas could not have gone to a better place. Seattle will do *nothing* to combat this menace. Nothing. Seattle is basically a communist enclave in the US. The only places I have been that are worse would be Berkeley, CA and Madison WI. The average brain washed dupe of a citizen in Seattle thinks the USA is the root of all evil in the world and that we should be paying back to the third world – forever, or until we are completely destroyed.

They will look at the Zetas as being from the oppressed brown skins and they will leave them alone. Oh, they will give lip service to fighting the cartel, but in the end they will just end up giving them whole parts of the city…after all we owe it to them.

One of the reasons for that is we have been beaten down so much by the liberals when it comes to voting that many conservitives just don’t vote as they think we will never win, that has to change! Go east of the mountains, very red and their hatered for the left is very very well known! But when the liberals continue to flock to King County from Califonia all we can do is voice our opinon and hope one day they will see the light! As for Seattle, I only go there if I have to, never ever do I go there because I want to!!
