Communist Protester in Wis.: ‘People Are Open’ to a ‘Revolutionary Movement’

Yesterday we brought you video of socialists openly rallying in Madison, WI and trying to recruit new members. Today, we show you that the communists are joining the fray too.

Once again, the MacIver Institute was down at the Capitol capturing video of those flocking to the protests in Wisconsin. This time, videographer Bill Osmuski caught up with some admitted revolutionaries from Chicago who came up to try and spread their message, and told Osmuski they definitely think “people are open to the possibilities of building a revolutionary movement.”

What did the communists cite as evidence? If you said “Egypt” and the unrest “around the world,” you’re right:

The group’s website explains more about its leader:

Bob Avakian is the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA. And he is more than that: he’s an innovative and critical thinker who has taken Marxism to a new place; he’s a provocative commentator on everything from basketball to religion, doo-wop music to science and he’s a pit-bull fighter against oppression who’s kept both his solemn sense of purpose and his irrepressible sense of humor.

He’s the author of “Revolution: Why It’s Necessary, Why It’s Possible, What It’s All About.”

The group, which appears to be different from the Communist Party USA, has three guiding principles:

1) The whole system we now live under is based on exploitation—here and all over the world. It is completely worthless and no basic change for the better can come about until this system is overthrown.

2) Many different groups will protest and rebel against things this system does, and these protests and rebellions should be supported and strengthened. Yet it is only those with nothing to lose but their chains who can be the backbone of a struggle to actually overthrow this system and create a new system that will put an end to exploitation and help pave the way to a whole new world.

3) Such a revolutionary struggle is possible. There is a political Party that can lead such a struggle, a political Party that speaks and acts for those with nothing to lose but their chains: The Revolutionary Communist Party, USA.

Remember, they’re just your friendly neighborhood communists.

As a side note, some of you might have caught someone carrying an American flag in the background. No, your eyes weren’t fooling you — the person was flying the flag upside down:

    Why do these people think Communisim is so wonderful? There are to many examples that show its a horrible form of Government. I think we are heading to a day when there will be revolution in this country but I guarantee it wont be leading to Communism.

    Madison has always been full of socialists and commies; they’re really coming out of the woodwork now. I wish I could be a part of the counter-protests today, but I can’t. I will, however, be praying for peace and safety in Madison today. Since all of Obama’s cronies have descended on us, I’m worried that they could cause things to get ugly…

    Some of us are open to the revolution that will maximize freedom for all and not freedom under a master that makes us slaves to the ever growing government and nanny state.

    I don’t think these Socialists and Communists understand that we are not Egypt. The majority of Americans believe in freedom and Capitalism. I am shocked though how many aren’t, especially in government. However, at the end of the day, I think Americans will put down any “revolution” these radicals bring to us.

    I asked my grandmother for similarities between the speech now and her experience living through the Cuban Revolution and she pretty much scared me. I know many say gear up with food and other things but I prefer to stock lead. I will not allow her to see that system again……not when this nation saved my family and took us in. God bless America.       This is when we need to have faith, and NOT be violent. Obama is biting at the bite to institute his idea of “marshall law”.. Pray first before you react. The progressives are showing exactly why we are a republlic and re-enforcing the need to follow our Constitution. Talk to your kids, teach them the truth, flood them with facts, and help them to see that what is happening in Wisconsin is wrong. You can be sure that they are not hearing the truth from their teachers. We need to defund the Fed’s dept of education ASAP.       According to the US Census Bureau the 2009 population in Wisconsin was 5,654,774 which includes 385,000 union members. Seems like the non-union Wisconsin taxpayers would get off their duffs and show the protestors in Madison what a real mob looks like.

      You are right on the money and in more ways than one; we are in the process of a restoration revolution. The more the extremists, the communists, the communists and progressives like the POTUS and his cronies push for a ‘fundamental transformation’ of the nation, the more they actually are making it happen – not the way they want it though.

      The people, the citizens of the land who are the integrity, the life, the liberty, and the honor of the country, are awakening and seeking to restore her in a peaceful revolution against the lunacy from the extremists.

      So they have achieved their dream, yet not the way they want, and God willing and guiding us, we will have the nation free and prosperous again. The best times for the nation are still to come, we just have a struggle for us to get there at this time.

      Interesting the AFC-CIO President Trumka spoke to the gathered masses. Do they know he is running around the world organizing union workers . . . and the salaries in Madison will soon be the same around the world in the spirit of “Social Justice.”

      I hope the city/state sends the union a bill for all the costs for police, trash etc.

      It is so crazy to hear socialists rail against overbearing totalitarian gov‘t when that is exactly what happens under their proposed style of gov’t. Freedom of the people is the American model. Socialism leads to many imprisoned and many deaths, just look around to Soviet Union, Venezuela, 30′s Italy and Germany.       I’m not advocating a violent rebellion by any means, but there does come a time when it has become necessary to defend this nation from those who wish to destroy it from the inside out. Right now those who wish to dismantle it and everything it stands for is currently collecting in Madison to fight 1 man who has stood up to the bullying and is attempting too right the improprieties of the previous Wisconsin administration.

      We should be suppoting these groups in developing thier own political party. It would be fantastic to have a communist/socialist candidate on the ballot in all elections. They could come spew thier nonsense at every debate, run communist commercials, and hopefully garner some support from the young people in this country who currently vote Democrat because it’s cool. Pry these revolutionaries away from the Democratic party to stand on thier own, and a Democrat wouldn’t be elected to any significant higher office for quite some time!

      Communists are still communists no matter how they may claim a difference in ideology or the means they choose to impose their philosophies upon people who have no desire to be under the same deranged, myopic view of their nightmare world.

      A wolf concealled by sheeps clothing is still a wolf that waits among the heard for the moment to lunge and strike, seeking to make the kill as swift and violent as possible; at the same time the chaos it causes opens up the heard to the other wolves, who then can pick off the rest one by one in a bloodbath by the pack.

      We should be suppoting these groups in developing thier own political party. It would be fantastic to have a communist/socialist candidate on the ballot in all elections. They could come spew thier nonsense at every debate, run communist commercials, and hopefully garner some support from the young people in this country who currently vote Democrat because it’s cool. Pry these revolutionaries away from the Democratic party to stand on thier own, and a Democrat wouldn’t be elected to any significant higher office for quite some time!

I told him that unlike the participants in HIS riots, the TeaParty is Peaceful and NonViolent — that he needs to tell HIS thugs to stand down when the TeaParty gathers in WI today.       In 1940, the Alien Registration Act, or “Smith Act”, was passed, which made it a federal crime to advocate or to teach the desirability of overthrowing the United States Government, or to be a member of any organization which does the same. It was often used against Communist Party organizations. This Act was invoked in three major cases, one of which against the Socialist Worker’s Party in Minneapolis in 1941, resulting in 23 convictions, and again in what became known as the Great Sedition Trial of 1944 in which a number of pro-Nazi figures were indicted but released when the prosecution ended in a mistrial. Also, a series of trials of 140 leaders of the Communist Party USA also relied upon the terms of the “Smith Act” — beginning in 1949 — and lasting until 1957. Although the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the convictions of 11 CPUSA leaders in 1951 in Dennis v. United States , that same Court reversed itself in 1957 in the case of Yates v. United States, by ruling that teaching an ideal, no matter how harmful it may seem, does not equal advocating or planning its implementation. Although unused since at least 1961, the “Smith Act” remains a Federal law.

      I lived in Athens GA for 4 years, and I want to tell ya, Madison isn’t the birthplace, ALL college towns are. Madison. Berkeley, Athens, Columbus, etc, etc….even Austin TX.
      The plan but the former soviet union was simple. It takes one generation to indoctrinate the students before you can have a reliable and viable revolution.

      1) Union leaders back then were actually looking out for their union members. Now they are all a bunch of greedy thugs, the same types that gulible union members today think they are fighting against.
      2) I want you to show me a teacher, ANYWHERE in America making “$30,000″ a year who isn’t is their first or second year. Average salery for Wisconsin teachers is $46k. That’s a WHOLE LOTTA middle class, especially after you consider benifits, all FREE now until this bill is passed, and their 2 month vacations in the summer.
      Hell, fire em all and give ME a job teaching in Wisconsin! I don’t even need to join the union! I’ll be good-to-go with what the bill designates!

      Violence wouldn’t be necessary if Marxism, Socialism, Communism worked or were “good” ideas.

      Nor would minority groups need to make such foolish displays of ‘potential’ force in order to “make their point.” If intellectual discourse can‘t efficaciously argue for support convincingly then it doesn’t make sense. Period.

      The problem here is that in a well timed use of intellectual dishonesty a population of people are being taken advantage of in typical form for these subversive groups.
