Concerned Cuomo Launches TV Volley Against Paladino

The Quinnipiac University poll showing Paladino only a few points behind Cuomo seems to have “startled the Democratic establishment,” says the New York Times:
Andrew M. Cuomo, leaving little doubt that he is concerned about his Republican opponent, Carl P. Paladino, unleashed his first direct attack on Mr. Paladino on Thursday with a television advertisement that criticized him for his donations to Albany politicians and for his failure to create jobs after winning tax breaks intended to promote economic development.
But don’t think the ad is a response to the new poll:
Although a new poll released on Thursday by Siena College showed a wider gap, Mr. Cuomo, who had previously seemed determined to keep Mr. Paladino at arm’s length, appeared to be springing into action. But the Cuomo campaign said that the new advertisement was unrelated to any poll and that the decision to run it had been made days ago.

Posted on September 25, 2010 at 5:14pmDear All,
Good News for Carl today! Gets support from Newt!
Carl Paladino is a wonder man with a really great work ethic, and a great family. He’s done a lot in the City and cares about the people here. And enough people here are willing to support him 100% to get him elected to the Governor’s office. I personally appreciate the fact that he’s not a slave to “Political Correctness”, this country needs more of that. Not to spew hate but to be an “Honest Person” you can’t always be politically correct!!
I hope more people realize this and support Carl Paladino in this election.
I know he will do a great job for our State. It’s a mess! Promises, Promises and all we get are more taxes and fees. We can’t take it anymore. It’s not so much about being mad, it’s more about moving forward. People are on a Mission.
I don’t see the Tea Party as an organization, I see it as Grass Roots Effort to make sensible change, it’s not racial, not hateful it’s a Mission of Great Possibilities!!! We need to bring back or core principals and morals that is what most of us are feeling.
“We the People” that were taught our history and the constitution. We can’t sit by and watch it be bastardized by “Social Progressives” and their likes. People that are moderate conservative can and do accept a lot. I think it’s the biggest reason everyone has been so quiet until a few years back.
We can all agree to disagree on certain issues. But right now our Country is in CHAOS and we don’t need politicians using our Latino, Gay and other communities for political gains (their votes). And that’s all we see right now. The most recent, Harry Ried‘s bill that didn’t pass, you know the National Defense bill, where they conveniently put things like “The Dream Act” and “Don‘t Ask Don’t Tell”
For Governor Patterson to say Paladino didn’t apologize, he is wrong! I wish people would really look into the FACTS before they spew this stuff.
Governor Patterson forgets how he felt when he came out to be honest? “Talking out of two sides of the face”
Eliot Spitzer disappointed many people that voted for him with his latest. And his ex-wife and family are the ones that suffered the most over it. And now he gets a Cable show on CNN? Sends a wrong message in my mind
The list can go on and on. “Those who live in glass houses should never throw stones” My house isn’t perfect, I don’t think anyone lives that fantasy!
Thanks for reading my rant!
Respectfully,
ILUVNY

PS…. Thank You Neil Cavuto Great Interview!! Thank you Donn Esmonde Buffalo News Great Article!! And quite a few others since Carl won the Primaries; to everyone that said he couldn’t. Touche’ WE done it!

I don’t like Paladino because he’s been blanketing the airwaves with ads threatening to use the power of eminent domain to seize control of the property intended for the Islamic Community Center/Ground Zero Mosque. Even if you’re against building the thing, no libertarian should vote for a guy who would use his power to target the property rights of a specific group based on their religion or political views.

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 7:49amI am in NY. New York cannot afford Cuomo as our Governor. As they say, we don’t need any more STATUS-CUOMO!! Cuomo will send out his bully thugs but Carl will fight back. Cuomo is endorsed by the Working Families Party – look them up! They are for redistribution of wealth, think health care is a right– a.k.a. marxist ideals — that should be enough to tell you who Newyorkers will be voting for this election … to me the choice is clear. More socialist progressive ideologies or free-market enterprise. New York is dying on the vine from high taxes and a horrible business climate. Cuomo is BAD for business. Even, millionaire Tom Galisano, entrepreneurial founder of Paychex who tried to run for Gov. move out of state! His reasoning? So that he could choose who to give his money to, instead of giving it to the government to choose for him!
I was one Newyorker who worked to force a Republican primary here and for once the REAL Republicans got to choose our candidate. The GOP here is a fraternity. We forced Lazio off the ballot! The GOP in NYS are still asleep at the wheel, but that topic is for another day…
Carl is the man to clean up Albany. Cuomo is from the entitled class and has been protected since birth. Carl has been asking for a debate. Cuomo is playing the same Pelosi-Reid-Obama game “Ignore them and they don’t exist”. But WE DO EXIST. I stood at the foot of our Capitol on 912 in 2009 with a million people. Obama, Pelosi and Reid were conveniently out of town. But I am a witness.
Cuomo will use his thugs to fabricate deceptive stories, his refusal to acknowledge and to accept a debate, quite frankly says it all. Cuomo is my man for this election. And, if he screws up, he’ll be out.

as to phrases to live by…
‘What you do, speaks so loud
I can’t hear what you say” !
Cuomo and his father were never good for NY or HUD or any office they’ve held.
Just look at waht they’ve actually DONE.
Just look at his expression. He’s always angry.
Taxes, 2nd Amendment – are deep trouble if Cuomo gets in.
Insiders tell me he’s really a nasty guy to be around, but then again, that’s second hand.
You don’t get to be able to run for Gov. unless there is a bit of nasty, I guess.

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 12:55pmI am a volunteer for the Paladino campaign. Carl has been hammering Cuomo on his remark that he made at a press conference that he (Cuomo) knew that a large percentage of the sub-prime mortages were going to fail. Look Cuomo up on youtube discussing sub-prime mortages. He is partly at fault for this whole mortgage mess by pressuring banks to take on these mortgages. And if Andrew Cuomo ever finds the courage to debate Carl, this will all be brought out. That’s probably why Cuomo is a coward to debate. Carl wants to debate Cuomo every day until the election, but to date the Cuomo campaign has been whimping out. Cuomo was also caught in a lie a couple of days ago at a press conference when he said he “voted for Michael Bloomberg the mayor of NYC”. This should be a warning to the voters of NY, no more career politicians. The stupid uneducated people of NY keep putting these same scumbags in office that are making it nothing but a welfare state here and a laughing stock of the rest of the country. By putting in slick talking career politicians election after election, we have the highest taxes in the country, some of the worse roads, schools etc. Every couple of elections we need to clean house. NO MORE CAREER POLITICIANS. NO MORE LIFETIME PERKS FOR PART-TIME POLITICIANS. NO MORE POLITICIANS IN ALBANY WHO DON’T STAND FOR THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. NO MORE LIBERAL SOCIALISTS/PROGRESSIVES/MARXISTS/COMMUNISTS IN ALBANY OR DC. LET’S TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK AND SEND THESE SCUMBAGS SCURRYING BACK UNDER THEIR ROCKS.
I will close now with my favorite saying………….”IF A POLITICIANS’ MOUTH IS MOVING, HE’S LYING”.

I haven’t really been following the gov. race too closely until now (after primary). I have been disgusted with Albany politics since the 1980′s (when I moved there), and now I am old enough to know why. Joe Bruno and Shelly Silver should have been in jail long ago. Mario Cuomo was a joke, and I’m sure Andy is too. They feel they are “entitled” to power and authority. Makes me sick, that’s why we left.

Posted on September 24, 2010 at 4:19amwell…. heck thanks… now I am blushing. :)
Unfortunately though this is what our CURRENT government has made me.
I was born in 1976. I was raised in the Reagan era. My Dad, a MSGT (now retired) in the Air Force taught me GOLDEN rule: “treat others as you would have them treat you.” He also taught me the SILVER rule: “Trust but verify.”
In my Life I still live by the golden rule… no matter how bad I am treated in reality and I live by the silver rule…. but it has been altered since Clinton allowed the USS Cole to be attacked with a symbolic bomb of retaliation. (I am a Navy Wife… hence the resentment toward Clinton)
so I altered the SILVER RULE from “Trust bubt Verify” to Trust nothing AND Verify EVERYTHING” because this year nothing can be trusted and just about everything can be verified… assuming you can search it and dig it and really work te net/print/libraries/other resources.
In my mind, what cannot be verified cannot be trusted. We have all seen that words mean nothing now-a-days, neither does a handshake.
Once a person’s word and hand means nothing, thier does anything that he controls.
Hence if I cannot verify what a man/news/ other resource says….. I dont trust it. I refuse to be a LAZY person and only rely on what people tell me. I choose to learn and explore for myself :)
ok end of surmon … but still blushing a bit.
remember, in this day and age… TRUST nothing and VERIFY everything!

The Op Ed columnist says “As of last year, he had raked in almost $1.5 million in tax breaks while spending just $1.1 million on fixing up the properties. And that economic engine of a firm employed a grand total of two people.”
It is common practice nationwide to emply what are called INDEPENDANT CONTRACTORS and thier subcontractors. So while this OPED guy says 2 jobs it COULD have been hundreds. Which is probably why his company is still in the appeals process.
See… I love watching them…. bubt never trust and always follow up.

I actually really do like him. I believe he’s a stand up no-nonsense guy who will continue to ‘call em out’ until the job is done. He’s a real estate developer in Buffalo & a lawyer. The only building he owns I know of is the Ellicot (sp?) Square Building – in my opinion, one of Buffalo’s most gorgeous historic structures. :) I have no idea @ his others – but that’s no slum. (I have not lived in Buffalo in 35 years) It’s a fabulous office building in downtown. As a real estate developer I can tell you it’s no easy chore to get ANY tax deals or breaks – God Bless anyone who is able to! I do not fault him for that – in fact I applaud him! I promise you he worked long and hard for those (if they’re true) and they hold his feet to the fire on ‘em.
