Condoleezza Rice Throws Down With MSNBC‘s Lawrence O’Donnell Over…Pretty Much Everything

For some reason, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice decided to invigorate MSNBC’s The Last Word by agreeing to debate host/actor Lawrence O’Donnell (Big Love, Monk, Mrs. Harris, The Practice, The Lyons Den, The West Wing).  How do you think that went?

Mediaite:

O’Donnell began by asking Rice if President Obama’s visit to Ground Zero earlier today was appropriate, which she did, and she explained former President Bush’s absence, attributing it to a desire to stay out of the spotlight, and not to detract from President Obama’s moment.

Things got gradually more “tense,” as O’Donnell described it, when the subject turned to the Bush administration’s post-9/11 assessment of the threat that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq posed. Rice’s responses were mainly Bush-era Golden Oldies about things Hussein did in the early nineties, but O’Donnell’s interrogation was a 180 degree shift from the more deferential treatment the administration received from the press at the time.

Some might even say O’Donnell swung the pendulum too far the other way, at times replacing actual questions with, as Rice observed, “your own commentary,” but he did land some powerful blows, such as his invocation of Rice’s famous “mushroom cloud” quote.

Condoleezza Rice, for her part, made an excellent point as she got in the last word:

    Condoleezza more than held her own w/ this worthless wimp. She countered everything this sorry excuse of a commentater threw at her.She even threatened to end the interview, scolded him for interrupting her answers, yet remained gracious, all the while surgically castrating this impotent piece of trash. After the interview, this wimp had his les_ _ _n friend Rachel Madcow both giggling, like 2 little girls about how he stumped her during the interview. If this was a football game, Condoleezza won about 40 to 2. Condoleezza might have stumbled once in her own end zone and Lawrence tripped over his own skirt and fell ( not tackled) her for a lousy 2 points. Of course what do you expect from PMSNBC??

    Many presidents have used a large partners’ desk called the Resolute Desk, so named because it was made from the timbers of the British frigate HMS Resolute. The ship was frozen in Arctic ice and abandoned, but later found and freed by American seamen.     Why any right thinking person would go on O‘Donnell’s show is beyond my comprehension. This guy is not interested in the truth. Well, maybe he’s interested in the truth as he believes it to be, and that is the problem. He has proven time and again that he can’t see beyond the tip of his nose.       Why do ppl continue to entertain this fool? As noted above this man is a creator of fiction he will do whatever is necessary to control a conversation and paint a picture.       I am curious why NO ONE has addressed the tv report I saw on Fox pre-war that Uday and Qusay Hussein were going back and forth from Iraq to Syria. It was not sourced by Fox if I recall. (in other words something that comes across the wire by Reuters, AP etc that news agencies then put out) WHY were they going back and forth? I saw a program on Discovery channel about Saddam and there was a scientist on who worked on the nuclear energy program. When Saddam went to visit the new facility Saddam said something to the doctor of “good now you make me weapons” the doctor responded” I am sorry Mr. President I cannot I do not know how” he then said Saddam then asked again in a forceful manner. This scientist ended up imprisoned and said “I was sodomized and beaten for 10 yrs”. Now why would anyone say that. This scientist also said nuclear fuel rods were hidden in plain sight beneath swimming pools.

      A chemical labs were located during the early months of the invasion and as Condi stated Saddam had and used WMDs. We all have seen the footage.

      So why is none of this addressed Larr

      Back then, I was all for Democrats and just hated George W. Bush (and Condoleeza Rice!), and had daily ARGUMENTS with my now good friend from high school about the WMD. I shut my mouth about them, though, when Tom said HE SAW them being moved OUT of IRAQ on some visual that had been shot from overhead. He described it to me. He’s asleep now, and I couldn’t call him anyway because lightning knocked out his phone and Internet the other night. But that was the reason Saddam Hussein would not let the inspectors do their job. The WMD WERE THERE!

      When they went in later, of course they found no WMD. They had been moved out.

      HA HA! o’Donnell thought this was going to be his Katie Couric moment, and instead he is helping to reinstate the Bush Presidency! Who made up this list of “tough” questions? They obviously did not waste their time watching old Rice interviews in order to prepare.

      You can’t argue with any fools as people might not know the difference. O’Donnell (why does the Blaze keep giving him airtime?) is a punk and, as a liberal, doesn’t know how to treat a lady. Liberal women don’t get chivalrous treatment, and, perhaps, that is why they are always angry.
      Condoleeza sure has some brains, though. Something O’Donnell is sorely lacking.

      The point she brought up about Libya is excellent! Saddam Hussein had a history of atrocities toward his people. Gassing them. Torturing them. His sons rapping female citizens. Qadhaffi has had a history of terrorism. I have not heard or seen any evidence of him being involved in terrorism for a number of years. I have also not heard stories about him commiting despotic acts toward the people of Libya.

      So, why is Bush reviled for ousting Hussein and Obama is being louded by the left for “helping” Libyans?

      President Carter began the covert acts in Afghanistan to oust the Russians which led to the training of Osama Bin Ladin. Anyone see any potential similarities with Libya? Which of the Libyan “freedom fighers” will one day help to attack America?

At the beginning of the W administration I used to think that she was a bit too hawkish but I learned my lesson …. this is one well informed lady that knows well how to handle herself in all surroundings.       Condi’s to good for that interview, she should have walked out…but, then she would have had to be classless I suppose.
