Conflicting Statements Abound in Mosque Prayer ShockerNews of sixth grade boys praying to Allah on a public-school field trip to a mosque this spring in Wellesley, Massachusetts broke yesterday (see the video here). And now, the statements of the school‘s superintendent and the mosque’s leader aren’t adding up, according to conversations with the video’s producer and an Islamic expert.

In an account reported by the Boston Globe, the mosque claims that students were not invited to pray, and that the students came forward and initiated what ended in bowing to Allah.

“Certainly in our tours we do not invite kids to take part, but if someone wants to come pray and take part, we shouldn’t prevent them,” said Bilal Kaleem, president of the Muslim American Society of Boston, which manages and runs the cultural center.

But a statement by Wellesly Superintendent Bella Wong claims that “a representative of the mosque told students they were welcome to join in the prayer that was occurring.” And after that, “five students chose to participate.”

That, according to Americans for Peace and Tolerance leader Charles Jacobs, is “contradicting.” His group released the video showing the field trip. “It again evokes the issue of credibility of mosque spokespeople who have for years denied in the face of documented evidence, that they are tied to, if not run by radicals who have said awful things about Jews, Christians, homosexuals and American democracy,” Jacobs said in an e-mail to The Blaze.

Conflicting statements, however, could be overshadowed by other comments made during the field trip. According to the video, a female convert explains to students that women enjoyed voting privileges under Muhammed long before women in America enjoyed the same freedom:

At the time of prophet Muhammed, women were allowed to express their opinions and vote. In this country [America], women didn’t get that right until less than a hundred years ago. But Muslim expert Robert Spencer says that is simply not true. “It’s a historical fantasy to say that women could vote under Muhammad,” Spencer said in an e-mail. He is the director of Jihad Watch and author of several books on Islam including The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades). “He didn’t run a democracy; he was an authoritarian ruler.” Spencer pointed out that the Koran says men are superior to women, that disobedient women should be beaten, and that a woman’s testimony is worth half that of a man.

“In Muhammad’s time, and in Islamic law, women were essentially commodities and possessions of men,” he added.

The mosque‘s claim also doesn’t sit well with Jacobs, who says women are still treated as second-class citizens in much of the Muslim world. To him, then, the superintendent‘s statement is inadequate because it doesn’t say anything about clarifying the false claims made about women’s freedoms.

“[The superintendent] has to rectify the lies told the kids,” Jacobs said in his e-mail. “Women could NOT vote under Mohammed. Indeed American children should know and sympathize if not join, struggles to liberate women under Islam from stonings, forced encasement in Burkas, [and] honor killings.”

Ironically, after discussing women’s rights, female students and chaperons were not allowed to take part in the prayer, and were segregated from the males who were.

According to the superintendent’s assistant, Wong was unavailable for comment.

    Sadly, so many young men today have been starved for the emotional and spiritual support that used to come from intact families and intact families and religious worship. They are ripe for the picking by anyone who offers love and acceptance. That includes gangs and religious cults, however large the cult.

    When I was a kid, reading and learning about the end times, I always wondered who in the world would be cutting off people’s heads for refusing to denounce the name of Christ. I mean it was the 20th century we have guns and bombs. Who would still be decapitating people in the future for religeous reasons?

    I am truely glad I don’t have a child in school now,I would never make it.All I had to worry about was bigger kids picking on little kids and grades.Now you have everything from indoctrination into a Gay lifestyle to how bad it is to be an Infidel.

    When did schools become an indoctranation center of someone other then the kids parents to teach children about how to live there life.I thought schools were for education so kids could grow up and make there own choices with there PARENTS help.

    Who the hell do these people think they are to indoctranate someone elses child,how is this any different then a pedophile,one is sexual,the other is brainwashing,both damageing to a young person with no idea whats going on.we not only have to clean out our government but the schools as well.

      This is a part of their plan.To teach the slanted revisionist history showing that our way of life is wrong,and leaving out the parts that don’t suit their agenda,or politics.That religion is wrong,(except in the case of muslims).Toleration for everything except conservatives,or those that do not agree with their plans.Twisting the truth to indoctrinate the kids into thinking that the US and all the things we did were just as colonialists trying to steal other country’s resources.That our standard of living is disgusting,and wrong for the rest of the world.They minimize our achievements,and tell them half-truths,and only their part of the story-working hard and becoming rich because of your labor is wrong,the rich must be made to pay because they MUST have become that way by screwing over the poor..They’re preparing them early not to think for themselves,and to become nice,docile,believing,leftists that hate their country.

      Yeah…my wife and I went to an orientation for new students (my son is entering Kindergarten) and the first woman that spoke (the school’s reading specialist) said

      “As parents it’s not your job to teach your children…”

      I was absolutely shocked…although I shouldn‘t have been since they don’t really need to keep their agenda’s hidden anymore. We’ll likely be homeschooling…

    Why for God’s sake, is a school district (that professes separation of church and state) taking kids out of school and field tripping them to a Mosque? Are they going next month to a Church, Synagogue, or a Temple? I don’t think so. Let’s be real here, and if they (the NEA) wants to govern the debate and keep “God” out of state school districts, let’s keep all forms of “God” out of the school system!
    Parents in Wellsey school district should be calling for that principle’s job as well as the superintendent, for God’s Sake (pardon the pun).

    Why are we even trying to ask a public school super-intendant for truth and clarity about this? They lie to our students, take them on tours to meet more liars, pretend they aren’t forcing students to lie to us, and then lying to us about every aspect of the affair?

    Anybody at all curious just what in the heck these liberals and muslims have in common? They lie to you, and they tell themselves its not lying. Becuase its you their both lying to. You ignorant-heathan infadel-capitalist-christian-western-industrialist-imperialist-elitist-pigs… you just don’t “get it.” They hate you. Stop trying to parse any more logic out of it and keep your kids clear of this trash. Pull them out of public schools and elect true statesmen that will either re-imberse you your educational dollars directly or cut you a voucher. Anything else is just telling the liberals and muslims that you don’t care about your kids, and are therefor not worhty of honesty.

      We may find the views of another faith to be limited or even flawed, but most people strive to do what they think is right and be good people. As a missionary in New York city, I often held “Christian” prayers with Muslims. While I would fold my arms they would pray into their palms and participate despite the fact that I was praying in the name of Jesus.

      Is there a problem with teens entering a prayer that will call to their minds the things that their parents have taught them about their creator? Christians everywhere mourn at the decisions to ban prayers from schools. Why can’t we use this as an example of religious tolerance to reinstate school prayers? Can we say, “look, Christians and Muslims praying together; let’s use this as a template for other prayers”?

      I do not condone Sharia Law or the degradation of women, but I have known “buffet” members of all faiths, people who say, “I like these aspects of this faith because they help me be a better person, but I stay away from that aspect because it is a little weird.” This situation might seem a little odd at first glance, but lets learn from it and not use it as a way to fuel intolerance.

      If you deny the Son you deny the Father, if you are christian and have the Holy spirit then you know that. Now they deny the Christ is the Son, of all things in the world to not do that is chief. They go and pray to a god that does not have Christ as his Son, so make no mistake their religion is in direct conflict with Christ. That’s not some angry tirade its just the simple fact that most people never want to speak of.

      Now as a christian would I want my son in that temple to a false god bowing with everyone else ? 100 percent No, but I completely respect peoples opinion who would want such a thing, its up to you what life you live and what you believe.

      Sadly the girls will be the majority to reject it, but the boys will be more influenced to accept and embraced it Why?
