‘Dave the Tracker’: Candidates Clash Over ‘Gotcha’ Video Tactics

Virginia Congressional candidate Scott Rigell (R) was fed up with being “tracked” by a Democratic staffer paid to make his life miserable. So he confronted his opponent, Congressman Glenn Nye (D) about the tactic.

“Dave the tracker” is a videographer paid by the Virginia Democratic Party to follow Rigell around, sometimes aggressively, in order to try and catch a gotcha! moment that could derail Rigell’s campaign. But Dave doesn’t always play nice, and his constant, disruptive presence has become too much.

A local news station has the story, which includes the crucial elements of any good campaign season report: confrontation video, an incumbent politician stretching the truth, and a fearless salt-and-pepper haired reporter willing to ask touch questions:

Let some Pecker-wood get between my wife and me, and they would be surgically removing a camera from his posterior; but then, it doesn’t matter anyway.
To use a cereal to describe our country, it’s Post Toasties.
It doesn’t matter who wins in NOV.-the Messiah will rule supreme; so how, some way..the man is evil and has only one theme..Obama..

Sorry Glayvorkia but it does matter who you vote for and who wins. God may rule supreme but he gave us brains for a reason and a lot of us (me) have had our head in the sand for too long. Our Country has leaders who are doing their best to change America and not in a good way. If “We The People” don’t vote for the right people, one day soon even the right to vote will be taken away. I for one, am not going to wait for God to do for me, what I can do for myself, and that is to vote OUT all the people who are in power now and replace them with new blood and old ideals. I want my Country back. I’m not one of the rich, nor even middle class, but I have worked since I was 19 and never expected my Country to take care of me. Sorry, I got off the subject…The camera man is out of line and the police should be able to help, if not, hire a body guard, they get paid to keep people out of your face.

When you find people like this at these types of events. That are stalking the candidates. Then people should surround this guy or gal and keep bumping into him so he can’t shoot the video. What’s he going to do if his video is so shaky that no one will watch it. Pretty soon he/she will get the message that he/she is not wanted. I mean if you bump into him, apologize to him profusely and keep him occupied. Then someone else bump into him and get between him and the candidate. SIMPLE.

Seems to me that Dave the tracker needs a life. But really it looks like he could be arrested for stalking the mans wife. She should call the police for trying to get in between the couple. But I thought that the Scott handled it brilliantly. I like the part where the DNC is paying for it all. What a waste of money.

Democratic Desperation – why do we allow this to happen. We can end it by telling Democrats we will not vote for them if they have to resort to this. Take their power and influence away from them, as that is all they care about. Would somebody please make a video of “Democrats gone wild” and play it nationwide the night before the election. Clearly these people do not deserve our vote or confidence. Punish these low-lifers at the polls.

Unfortunately, the Democrats have nothing to lose by doing this. They already know that they are fighting a losing battle. This is what people siink to when they think that they own the offices and not the AMERICAN PEOPLE. Just like that woman up in Alaska that can‘t take the hint that the ALASKIANS didn’t want her anymore. That’s why we have to put term limits on these offices, so that people won’t be there long enough for them to start thinking they own the offices their elected to.

Every public office should have term limits. It’s insane that we still have offices without term limits, not to mention the lifetime appointment positions.

The problem with our government is that it’s made up almost entirely of career politicians. People that have never held a job other than no-show kickback positions to bolster their resumes. People that have been groomed in the political system since they were born. People that have no idea how any of the things they are proposing will affect the real world and the people living in it.

Anybody that describes their career ambitions in terms of what office they aspire to hold is a failure as a representative of the people. Their ambitions should be to express and advocate the will of the people, not to create a legacy for themselves.

I live in va and hope people will look at both dems voting records despite the crappy tactics. at least Nye voted what the people wanted- he voted against the stimulus…check it out. I don’t care if you are d or r- look at each individual and especially their voting record. I live in district 5 and Periollos who has voted with pelosi 100% except for the last vote (in desperation to fake the people out), he has also advertised on fox news website (which is his right) but with his voting record he would never ever support fox news as a fair news source, so again he is trying to fake the people out. Sorry Tom Perriellos, the people aren’t that stupid!

Just to let him know that he is being rude and might want to reconsider. Ussually he had a hard time finding his camera or phone after a union type incident like this???

The more this type of thing is exposed and the people learn how the system tries to wag the dog, the more we are going to distrust ANY established candidate. Mr. Nye should be toast for this tactic alone. Lets hope the voters hold him accountable. We can police this, and should.

If I were Rigell, I’d invite Dave the Stalker in for a beer, or two, or 24. Let the camera roll the whole time and then start asking him questions while he‘s under the influence of the ’truth serum’. That would probably make for priceless video.

When the demolibersocialcommies find themselves pinioned to the wall by the truth, this is the only thing to which they can resort. They can’t run on their records, they can’t run on the issues, so all they can do is attempt with all their might to attack personalities. If it weren’t so sad, it might actually be amusing.
