Going into the tax day rally in Portland, local Tea Party organizers had concerns about security:
Oregon Tea Party members are taking a pledge of nonviolence for Friday afternoon’s Portland-area tax day rallies.
Party officials said they feared “union supporters” might try to stir up trouble at the rallies in Pioneer Courthouse Square and in other parts of the city on the day federal income taxes are traditionally due.
Those concerns were clearly unfounded because the progressive protesters who showed up were the epitome of decorum. Oh, wait. Then there is this video. The easily offended should not click.

Or at least some liberal tolerance for racial diversity in the debate of ideas, righ….oh, forget it….

It was government regulatory intervention that got the banks to offer sub-prime loans. The initially low interest rates masked real market prices. Then when the banks tried to make up for the loss on the initial offer, people who shouldn‘t have bought houses found that they couldn’t afford it.
The banks were wrong for not realizing they shouldn’t be offering such low rates, but if other banks are making money off the low rates, they tend to follow suit. The rates were artificially low, which created an artificial boom, which in turn was destined to be followed by a bust against REAL market prices.
The general populous are ignorant of these economic truths, and so do not look for meaning behind government-regulated low interest rates. Be that as it may, as I understand it, everyone knew that the rates would go up.
Ultimately, though, the housing crash is ACORN’s fault. See here.

If there is a violent revolution type of movement, there will be blood flowing in the streets like never before anywhere in the world! There are at least 5 to 10 million armed citizens in this country and most of us know how to use those weapons. And if you are liberal and think these weapons can be confiscated you are wrong, none of us will give them up no matter what law is passed. I sincerely pray it never comes to that.
We, the conservatives, are mostly not passivist like many liberals, and we all own a means of defending ourselves. Many of us are veterans of combat service and realize what that means.
During the 50‘s and 60’s the saying was “I’d rather be dead than red.” I personally will not give up my liberty for anything these folks represent.
Pray for a peaceful resolution to our countries problems.

Some of us are fixing it by home schooling, but we allowed the “good times” and technology to take our eyes off of the ball, and now we are paying the price. BTW I am seriously thinking about going back to school just to WATCH what they are teaching.. and to put in a different point of view.. to challenge what is being taught.. THIS would be a NIGHTMARE for the lefts agenda.. and anyone who can should do the same even if it’s only 1 class at night.. seniors get a nice break.. and sometimes even paid by the government to go to school..

The Left for decades needed a leader who hated our American heritage, history, culture and values. They got him and now they will defend this Quisling until the cows come home. Hopefully, many remorseful voters in 2012, will repent and throw all the socialist Dems out including those in the WH, Congress and….state legislatures where Dem loons rule.

When I was younger, and I had done something like this, my parents would have kicked my butt!
This is so unpleasant to watch, I can’t believe it. Makes me want to go to the rally with a bunch of big macho tough guys and just kick ass! Anyone says anything off color gets a beat down.

I live in Oregon because that is where my last job put me.
