Convicted: Woman Tries to Shoot Cop With Unloaded Gun, But Gets Shot in Butt by Officer

Shandra Kidd was shot in the buttocks after she tried to shoot a police officer with an unloaded gun (via the Chicago Sun-Times)
A Chicago woman who tried to shoot a police officer without realizing the bullets had fallen out of her gun was sentenced to 55 years in prison Thursday.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Shandra Kidd was running from officers during the 2007 incident, and when an officer caught up with her, she stuck a gun in the officer’s chest and pulled the trigger — but the gun didn’t go off.
They continued to wrestle, and Kidd fired again at the officer’s chest, but the gun still did not go off.
At that point, the officer shot Kidd — in the buttocks.
Police later discovered the bullets had fallen out of Kidd’s gun when the cylinder opened during the chase.
Cook County State‘s Attorney Anita Alvarez called Kidd’s 55-year sentence “a fitting and a just sentence for anyone who would be so bold as to fire a gun at a police officer.”

For Kicks n Giggles you really should review the video regarding the two women on the subway. One of which apparently forgot she had a kid in a baby stroller that rolled on out of the car.

He and many others seem to think it’s worse if a criminal shoots at an armed cop, and not as bad if they shoot one of us unarmed civilians. I just don’t get that. It seem to me to be worse if you kill an unarmed civilian (or baby).

Police, Firemen etc. are the public’s representatives that are charged with keeping the public safe, deter and investigate crime and keep the criminals separate from honest citizens. An attack on them is an attack on society as a whole, not just an individual. Finally, if a criminal is so bold and disrespectful of life that they would assault/attack or assault to shoot an armed law enforcement officer, they would have NO compunction not to kill or grievously harm an unarmed citizen. Do you get it now?

This is what government involvement induce though programs that take care of peoples needs rather than insisting on them earning a living in order to eat no matter what it is that is required to fill ones stomach. While I tend to believe police and expect every black suspect to shout, “I didn‘t do nuthin’.” before any questions are asked; the story is funny after the fact. If true I‘m sure the policeman wasn’t laughing when she pulled the trigger.
I like the POV, dash and ride-a-long cameras. They protect citizens against brutality and the police against the ever increasing false allegation. But the camera doesn’t lie and the guilty get to pay.
