Cops Bust Subway Turnstile Jumper Who Turned Out to Be Packing a Loaded Machine Gun

NYPD officers were shocked with what they found when stopping 33-year-old Reggie Allen of South Carolina for jumping a subway turnstile near Times Square Monday. The New York Post reports that Allen was allegedly carrying two fully loaded weapons — a hundgun in his waistband and machine gun in his bag — as well as an ammunition clip containing more than 30 bullets.
FOX 5 reports on Allen, who has a tattoo engraved in his neck that reads “Me Against the World:”
Police tell the Associated Press that the guns they recovered were a loaded Smith & Wesson .45-caliber handgun and a loaded Intratec Luger Tec-9 machine gun. Allen has been charged with criminal possession machine gun, criminal possession weapon loaded firearm and other charges.

The media usually gets these things wrong as they are not “gun people” so I’ll let it slide. Buy hey, buying handguns in DC? No way man…they have a complete ban right?

First, semi auto, that appears to be a Tech 9, that’s semi auto. Second, it’s a magazine, not a clip, a clip is an aid device you use to load magazines, or in some older weapons, that you strip directly into a built in magazine well (think SKS). Third, they’re cartridges, not “bullets”, bullets are the small jacketed or unjacketed lead projectiles that go in the front of the cartridge.
I wonder if the ace reporter who wrote this article will inform us that the next gun story he covers features a bolt-action semi-automatic, or perhaps an automatic revolver.
I expect ignorance from the general public, on most things, but “ace” reporters are supposed to have a basic understanding of what they’re reporting on, not from innate knowledge, but from researching correct terms before publishing the article, editors who check their articles…even more so.

1. NY’s gun laws are unconstitutional, as any ban on guns is unconstitutional.
2. Mr.Fitnah is correct, these are semi-auto’s, not machine cuns.
3. Detroit paperboy- Why are you glad he didn’t? There’s nothing in this article to indicate that this guy is guilty of anything more violent than jumping a turnstyle.
4. Jakartaman- these guns aren’t illegal. We’re not talking a Barrett .50 Cal long rifle (which are legal, if you have a class 3 license). These are essentially handguns. I might be wrong about that, but I‘m pretty sure I’m not.
5. elosogrande- Why do I have to assume he was planning on killing anyone? I’m carrying 24/7 and I’m not planning on killing anyone. Should I be thrown in jail and brought up on charges?

Posted on January 3, 2012 at 6:47pmClass 3 is not required for .50′s. Only those calibers larger than .50 These include calibers like 20mm.12.7mm and a bunch of other random sizes. Classified as destructive devices and require class 3 paperwork. Any one who can legally purchase a firearm can purchase a .50 as long as it is not banned by their communist state.

Posted on January 3, 2012 at 6:10pmThe comments here amaze me. Most of them are positivist perspectives. Yes, he jumped the turnstiles, which, in essence is theft. That I do not agree with. However, he was breaking man-made laws, not the Natural Law espoused by the constitution, by carrying those fire arms. The article made no mention as to if those were used in a crime pertaining to theft, force, or coercion. The law pertaining to the gun laws in NYC are wrong, not the individual who decides to carry for the sake of protection. I’m disappointed with what people got out of the story. If The Blaze and Glenn Beck aren’t getting you to wake up, then what will? What if they permitted concealed carry in NYC? One thug with some guns versus 20 plus barrels pointing back at him? By the way, from the posts stated, there was some assumption that he was black, yet no mention of that in the article, either. Maybe it was in the video. Let’s all just go back to sleep – it seems that we are halfway there.

Original production Tecs that came to the U.S were based on an open bolt design and were easily converted to full auto. The original design was based on the m/45 subgun and after never gaining any military ground it was marketed to american gangbangers. Open bolt designs have been banned since 1986 I believe. Look up the penalties for illegal machine gun possession. If this was real, winning situation all the way around. illegal machine gun off the streets and an idiot doping real time. And while you are at it look up the # of crimes committed by registered machine gun owners. Almost none.

We can‘t put up with people who have a need to understand this guy’s problems. If they turn him loose, and he kills someone, will the social workers who got him off bear the responsiblity? Nope – they just move on to the next case and get another would be murderer out of jail.
We have to get back to the time when people who did bad things had to pay the price. We have to protect the potential victims and keep the perpetrators off the street.

Report Post »Merely possessing the gun does not show he intended to use it in a nefarious fashion. New York gun restrictions are evil and unconstitutional. If he committed a crime with those guns, then throw him in the slammer. The article did not say if he had a past record of crime. What about the “right to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed” don’t you understand?

Most sane people would be extra careful about the law when doing something clandestine, so I have to consider that this individual just routinely ignores rules and laws. Jumping the turn style must have been so “normal” for him that he didn’t even consider its legality or the consequences getting caught.
