MarkAmerica Go to foxnews.com and click on the CPAC video from Feb 15….It shows the correct video and sound track in front of Bill Hemmer’s interview with Ron Paul. I watched the link you posted and it looks like it was a fake someone planted. Did anyone by chance DVR the Feb 15 story?

If someone did plant this, they are the scumbag not Fox!

I looked at the FOXNews clip. They clearly showed the video from 2010. It was the same guy but he was dressed a little different. Go to CPAC’s site and watch their video. FOX wasn’t set up. They screwed up. And this was either deliberate or an act of supreme incompetence because it showed that neither Hemmer nor Kelly watched the actual CPAC event they were reporting.

Shame on FOX and the police. If they were trying to take my son, I would try to prevent it as well. Why spin this this way? Why shoot at the father? I almost always support the cops but this is just wrong.

    @GONZO,

Look pal, the reason I chose to post this here was because I saw a chance to put it at the top of a comment strand. I did this because I want my fellow conservatives and libertarians to know that they should be just as wary of Foxnews as they are of the rest. It‘s really no different from what Glenn insists viewers ’do your own homework.’ Well, somebody did in this instance, and it showed Fox to be acting unethically.

Now, about conservative credentials, well, I’ll be happy to put mine up against yours any time.

    Mark

@Enduro, and anybody else not getting it: They took the video from last year’s CPAC, when Paul’s victory was actually booed by Romney supporters, and juxtaposed it into their coverage of this year’s CPAC, and then, of all things, had the nerve to ask Paul, who hadn’t been present(so wouldn’t know any differently,) about the booing?

This is a blatant manipulation of news. I agree with Glenn when he says “Don’t take my word for it,” and now perhaps understand why: He knows his own network isn’t always honest. It’s something I would expect from ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC or CNN. That Foxnews did this is…well…I don’t have the words to express my disappointment.

Considering the fact that you’re posting your FOX rant on a completely unrelated story, why should I believe you’re a fan of the network? Looks like you came here with the express purpose of showing what a “fraud” FOX is. Your opinion is your opinion, fine by me just don’t try and frame yourself as something you are not. Liberals and progressives always try to hide who they really are. Look at your hero Barry telling O‘Reilly he’s “not a left wing guy”.

dude your video is a joke. Ron Paul won, boo‘s or no boo’s. anyone with half a brain would know it was another candidates boo’s. He won and that is what matters, not some bogus audio clip.

as for the police tazer incident, my question is: why did they have to tazer the man in the first place. We need to get to the root of the issue!

That video of blantant misrepresentation is shocking. Does Fox think its viewers don’t care about honesty or that no one would be able to figure it out? I was watching CPAC from their own site and remember the applause so was wondering how they would spin their intrepretation. That they would actually use footage from last year and present it as this year’s astounds me.

If Glenn does not pounce on this he will lose a lot of credibility.

If this story is from last year why is the Kansas City Star reporting that it happened this week? Are you sure you are talking about the same story?

      http://www.kansascity.com/2011/02/15/2658647/child-shocked-by-taser-was-being.html

It’s pretty lame of the KC Star and the KCPD to say that the man was using his son as a human shield. Sounds like he was trying to prevent the authorities from taking his son away – however, running from the police is probably not the best way to accomplish that.

The KC star reported “Troxel acted erratically and would not let her (his wife) take them. He had both exits blocked, called a school to see whether she was drugging the boys and thought the landlord was bugging his house, she wrote.”

With what little information I have it‘s hard to say if this guy is as bad as everyone is making him out to be but IF his accusations are true and the children were being drugged then I can see why he wouldn’t want his estranged wife to have them. What would you do if someone was drugging your kids?

Point being, there’s always too sides to every story. Troxel definitely made a bad decision by running from the police, but he may not be as bad as what the police and the media have made him out to be.

I have been a big fan of Foxnews. I generally watch their whole evening lineup, minus O’Reilly, who I think is just a shameless self-promoter. Nevertheless, I’d love an explanation as to why FoxNews would so clearly try to manipulate the way the CPAC outcome looked. I’m not even a big Ron Paul fan… Just an honesty fan… And I don’t understand this one at all.

This is some spin on a story. A dumb-ass cop shoots a guy holding a 3 year old in his arms and the pro-government news spins it, that the father was using his son as a human shield.

The news head line should read “Stupid cop, fires a stun gun at father holding his 3 year old son and hits 3 year old instead”.

What kind of person would fire their weapon with a 3 year old in the line of fire? Answer: An idiot who should be kicked off the police force.

I also wonder, how the story would have been reported if the father was an African American?

One of the big beefs I have with Fox is that they are 100% pro-anybody in uniform, 100% of the time, no exceptions.

People in uniform are every bit as capable of wrong doing as any of the rest of us, they are human beings and endowed with no “selfless” gene or heightened level of morality nor intelligence. Fox however tends to always side with the Uniform, almost without exception, to the point that a man who was tazered with a kid in his arms is made out to be using the kid as a shield, when he wasn’t.

Of all the news sources, Fox is the best, but they have their own set of problems as well. Uniform worship is one of their major issues (and a major issue for a lot of conservatives, if I may be frank).

Let’s hope for better reporting in the future.

Why do you shoot the messenger? In this case(video I linked), Foxnews has done exactly what Glenn and others warn to watch for in other media outlets. This is manipulated, massaged, mangled news. It’s a scandal, but for the fact that apparently, every media outlet does it. Should I forgive it on that basis?

Give me a break. You either wise up, or look as foolish as the leftnuts who pimp for mediamatters and Huffpo, and all the other leftwing garbage. When FoxNews does this, there is no remaining ‘safe’ or ‘reliable’ source of news anywhere, and anything provided by Foxnews outlets is in question.

The cop didn’t say he used the kid as a shield against the tazer. He pushed past the cop and took off running, fell down and got tazed. I support the police but, this headline should be: Cops Taze Baby. Barring a criminal history, I think the guy may just be a distraught father. Lost his wife and the cops are coming to take his kid. That can make a man do stupid stuff, like running from the cops. I’m not ready to throw the guy under the bus yet but, I’m sure the courts will.

My heart breaks for the little boy…..not being there when it happened, it is hard to determine what the policeman saw and why he tried to taser the man with the child in such a close proximity……perhaps the policeman thought that the child was in more danger with the father being distraught and that the father had to be stopped immediately…..I don‘t want to think that the policeman acted in total disregard for the little boy’s safety…..the circumstances need to be investigated, though…..

Using a three year old as a human shield is not something I would not have expected. I know that officers are trained to expect the unexpected, but this seems over the top to me. Clearly dad has major problems, but I’m not sure I would blame the officer, especially since the officer on the video said that the father pushed past the arresting officer with the child in front.

Stun guns should only be used when you would otherwise use a baton or a gun. Unfortunately, many officers use them to get a citizen to comply with their demands.

Another false headline (as far as I can tell by the video) by the Blaze. Is this going to be the pattern.

The Father clearly did not use the child as a shield but was running with the child in his arms. The police stupidly fired at him and hit the child.

Let’s get this straight. To “protect the child” they went to serve a warrant and fired a tazer at him when he ran with the child. That is collosal inexcusable stupidity. A police man should be able to oiutrun a man running with his child. If he no longer had the child in his arms the child should have been secured before any dangerous weapon was used. The police are responsible for what happened to this child.
