You better believe you‘ll be seeing this on Fox anchor Shepard Smith’s show. The host, who has a fascination with bear stories, will be delighted at the latest gem to come out of Colorado.
There, a 200-pound black bear had crawled up into a tree on the campus of the University of Colorado. And it was then that officers decided to tranquilize it around 10 am on Thursday. Its fall onto a fluffy mat produced one of the best photos of the year so far, captured by Andy Duann of the CU Independent:
“He was just resting up in the tree probably for a good two hours,” police spokesman Ryan Huff told KMGH-TV.
“He was pretty mellow. He was resting up on the branch,” he added.
The bear will now be relocated.
“We try to move bears more than 50 miles and also try to get them across a major river or highway so that there is a barrier to them heading right back to where they came from,” Randy Hampton, a spokesman for Colorado Parks and Wildlife told the station.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 12:58pmConcerning your handle: How slow is slow? I am constantly harassed for driving the legal limit in the “fast” lane. I can guarantee you that not one law-abiding person passes me on the right. I do not have contempt for people who are in a hurry and need to pass on my right. But there are about 25% of those who do pass me (illegally) who express their disdain by cutting me off unnecessarily short and sometimes even slow down below the limit to be sure I kow that they are unhappy.
I am just curious which one you might be.

“I am constantly harassed for driving the legal limit in the “fast” lane.”
You’ll have to show me which lane is the “fast” lane. The only lanes I know of are the right “driving lane” and the other “passing lanes” If you are driving the speed limit in the far left lane then you are using that lane improperly and hence the reason you get “their disdain”. When you learn to use the far left lane as a “passing lane” and drive the speed limit in the right or “driving lane” I bet that will stop.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 1:43pm@NICKYLOUSE – It’s called the “fast” lane for a reason. But more accurately it should be called the passing lane. In some states (and most countries) one can receive a citation if they are not actually passing someone in the far left lane. Of course this applies to non-urban areas where all lanes are free-access. Out between cities where there are only two lanes on the Interstate driving in the left lane while not passing someone is not only rude, it’s unsafe. That‘s why you’ll never see any experienced OTR truckers spending much time in the left lane – they know how to drive defensively and with courtesy.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 1:46pm@ NickyLouse Are you really this much of a tool? Get a life! Oh and learn to drive, left lane is for passing….not continually driving! I will salute you as I pass you too!

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 2:52pm@Nicky – In NJ, it is ILLEGAL to drive in the left lane if NOT passing. So, if you drive through NJ and sit in the left lane, IT IS YOU WHO ARE BREAKING THE LAW. (And yes, the state police do write tickets for morons who get in the passing lane while not passing.)
BTW, it is common courtesy to stay OUT of the passing lane if not passing… so if you are not passing you are just blocking traffic and forcing others to pass you in the wrong lane, then getting on YOUR HIGH HORSE about how all those people are “breaking the law.” For your own safety, don’t do it! There are plenty of NUTS out there that will run you off the road or even pull out a gun and shoot you right then and there. It happens, google it.

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 3:34pmWhy in the name of common sense don’t you move out of the fast lane? In most states the far left lane is for going around slower traffic. You enter the fast lane and than get out of it. Just because you are doing the posted speed limit is no excuse for holding up traffic. What are you the traffic monitor? Get out of peoples way!!!

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 3:53pm@ NICKEYLOUSE: There is No left lane – there is / are the driving lane(s) to your right and one PASSING LANE on the left. You see, after you pass, look in your rearview mirror and when you can see BOTH headlights of the car you just passed, you may SIGNAL and proceed to the driving lane. OR, just stay in the passing lane and (1) some road rage nut job will shoot you OR (2) we will all see you on tv being taken out by the driver of a stolen car that comes crashing into your A$$ during the high speed chase. As much as you wish you could, you can not control everything, so, move over ! Your President has not learned that he can’t control everything either and soon he will be FIRED !
Report Post »SoCalStar
Posted on April 27, 2012 at 6:24pm@Nickylouse It is not for you to judge that you are going the speed limit so nobody needs to pass you. Regardless of what speed I am driving, if I am in the fast lane and someone comes up behind or is approaching fast, I just try to get out of the way and let them pass ASAP. It creates greater jeopardy for all drivers around to block traffic and frustrate people and have them weaving in and out of traffic trying to get around. Just let them go!

Posted on April 27, 2012 at 9:36pmNicky, it’s idiots like you who make the roads unsafe. Most cops will tell you that.
Let me ask you a question: Why don’t you drive in the right lane?
Is it because you get some sense of power from making others go around you?
Idiot.

It’s drivers like you who incite others to curse at you, flip you the bird, and spit a big hunker out the window as we pass you on the left. Learn to drive before you provoke someone into an act of road-rage.
