Country Star in Feud With Chris Brown After Criticizing Grammy Praise for Domestic Abuser

Miranda Lambert Slams Chris Brown

One day following the untimely death of popular recording artist Whitney Houston, the February 12 Grammy Awards attracted a total audience of 39.9 million, up nearly 50% from 26.7 million last year and the largest viewership since 1984. Houston’s death likely drew many viewers who have not watched award shows for some time, or really ever, that may have been taken aback when seeing the applauded performances and Grammy win for Chris Brown. A name many have not heard since 2009, when Brown made national news after pleading guilty to felony assault of then girlfriend, fellow artist Rihanna:

The Staples Center cheers and Grammy award given to Brown came with controversy, as many believe a man with Brown’s criminal record should not be celebrated. Brown has previously lashed out at those who have not forgotten the assault, notably breaking a window at ABC’s Midtown Manhattan office  in 2011 after being asked unexpected questions about the incident during a “Good Morning America” interview.

Shockingly, among many tweets condemning acceptance of Brown back into popular culture, several women Tweeted troubling messages during Brown’s performance, indicating that they were still interested in him regardless of his well-known 2009 conviction.

The View’s Sherri Shepherd criticized the Tweets during Tuesday’s broadcast but did not receive an ovation of her own until she defended Brown, arguing that despite his violent behavior he “deserves another chance.” Mediaite reports that Shepherd opined that people were being too hard on the entertainer, saying that he was “reformed,” and going so far as to say he could even be seen as a “role model.”

Other women in the entertainment industry are not brushing off Brown’s prior transgressions so easily.

Country music star Miranda Lambert came out against Brown immediately at the awards ceremony last Sunday, tweeting “I don’t get it. He beat on a girl,” and Entertainment Weekly reports that Lambert took jabs at the convicted felon during her performance at the University of Massachusetts Thursday:

“Lambert produced a poster for audiences reading ‘Take Notes Chris Brown’ just prior to her performance of “Gunpowder and Lead.” The subject of the tune? A woman who decides to kill her abusive husband.

Said Lambert after showing the poster to her fans: ‘Get a good picture now, put it on Twitter … I’ve been in a world of hurt with Chris Brown fans lately … but see, I just have to speak my mind because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never okay.’ She continued: ‘So that’s why my daddy taught me early on in life how to use a shotgun.’”

ABC News reports that Brown responded quickly to Lambert’s criticism, tweeting “HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY Now! That’s the ultimate F—OFF!”

ABC News on the growing celebrity feud not on record sales, reality TV drama or artistic competition, but the cheering of a man who may have apologized but still brutally beat a woman:

To make the entire controversy even more unsettling, there are rumors circulating that Chris Brown and Rihanna are getting back together professionally to produce a new single, and were seen together at Rihanna’s birthday party.

God teaches us to be forgiving because He has forgiven us through Jesus. Its always good to forgive but I wouldn’t trust him with my daughter or any of my family members. He’s the same lewd music artist as he was before, maybe even more. I don’t see any radical changes in his life.

And to those women who twitted saying they would let him beat them, sexually. So, all you need is to be able to sing and dance for you to spead your legs, huh? Really???? SMH

Remember HOW God forgives. It’s not all in the past, and it’s not automatic. Jesus told us in Luke 17:3 that Miranda’s right on track on this issue: IF someone sins, THEN rebuke is in place. IF they repent: IF they are truly remorseful and turn away from doing it, THEN we forgive them. Jesus warns us, “take heed to yourselves” because we act foolishly if we forgive them before they repent with a smug “Oh, I forgave you before you even did it“ or a ”Jesus forgave all your sins 2,000 years ago.” Both are bogus. We need to beware of being more forgiving than God is. The Lake of Fire will be quite empty if God has already forgiven everybody. This is why we’re commanded to repent and be forgiven as an ongoing part of life. There’s real joy.
But why the masochistic invitations from the 3 women? Would they also like Chris to slip some cyanide into their cocktails?

This is really the African-American culture of today. Anyone who disputes that is lying to themselves.
It is very sad but very much true.

The whole African-American culture is in deep trouble and the only people that can change this are the African-Americans.

My family has a legend of an abusive husband that had fallen asleep in a drunken stupor.
His wife, having had enough of his beatings, quietly sewed the bed sheet around him as he slept.
She then went to the stove and smelted lead as you would when making bullets, and proceeded to pour it into his ear… he died.

Forgiveness is only given when there is remorse. Yes, Christ does teach forgiveness, and he forgives. But, before even He forgives, you have to sincerely appologize and ask for forgiveness.

Chris Brown’s actions and lifestyle are a clear indication that any “appology” he gave was not sincere and he only has remorse over the negative publicity, not the action.

Chris Brown isn’t a man. He’s just a street punk with money. Like so many other artists of his musical genre. Of course, the same can be said for Rhiana. She’s not a lady, but rather a glorified street-walker or tramp.

This was a major goal of MTV back in the day, when the powers to be on the liberal side of the media were looking at ways to indoctrinate the young of America.

MTV promoted young white girls laying up with thugish black men. they promoted it through the videos and the reality shows. The goal was not to stop racism, nor did they ever show young white girls with educated and successfull black men. They glamorized the thugh and the getto life style.

On the same theme, the MSM, modern TV, and our public schools have pushed for a long time the femenism piece, and indocrinated the youth that the white male was the fault of everything wrong in American and the world. They discredited the Founding Fathers, and modern TV makes a complete mockery of the white male, husband, and father. Thus the reason you have so many teen white males walking around with their heads down.

The goal was to get the middle class white female to lay up with baggy pants, no job having, uneducated, nappy braids, Tyrone, Jamal, Andrae…. and beome the “my baby’s mamma”. They not only succeed in destroying the family of America, they get more folks on welfare (thus creating more voters for the democrat), and create a larger minority population that will very soon outnumber white Americans and fundamentally change America.

I wallk through Walmart these days and seet how many unmarried young whiter girls that are pushing around shopping carts with the offspring of Tyrone. MTV knew what i

Jesus speaks of forgiveness but not in the way you are using is. This guy did not beat me up, nor did he “transgress” against me, so forgiveness is not between he and I. Rather it is between he and the woman he beat and her family. It was they whom he transgressed against.

We are to seek justice for those who have been harmed by this guy and others like him by use of the court systems. However, if the woman or man in some cases, chooses to go back to that setting there is nothing we can do but try to change their point of view. Nevertheless, there are mindless drones like the three girls mentioned in the article who both enable and encourage behavior like his and with society in a downward spiral it will only get worse. These situations hardly ever end well when the woman returns to be treated like this again. One cannot truly call such an individual a “victim” when he or she will let the abuser treat them this way.

SAWBUCK: You are wrong about Lambert. Would I kill someone that beat me, no. Now if he touched my kids in that way it would have been different. Unless you have walked a mile in a womans shoes that has been abused its easy to say. The gals that tweeted are crazy. Obviously have never felt the fear and danger from the hand of an abusive man. The men that do this weave a tangled web and constantly verbally abuse a woman until she is worn down. Then they appologize and treat you so good after that it gives you hope and gives this little window of who they might be if you just love them enough, that they will change. When that does not work then it gets worse and they threaten your kids and family, not just you any more. If you are afraid that you can not feed or care for your kids on your own they have you. Until you pull yourself up and decide to leave you are a prisoner. Once they know you are going to leave the threats and beatings only get worse. Leaving becomes more difficult but once you do and feel that freedom you never want to go back if you have any sense. Years go by and when you talk about it it is like it happened to someone else. You don’t regognize that person that you once were. Your biggest regret is not doing it sooner. Allot of women that leave do get murdered by these men. It is not safe long after. You can’t judge all women by those who made the comments. It is not fair to label the rest as stupid. Not everyone can get away, not everyone finds the strengt

AbbyGirl1994 – For the same reason that homely-as-sin aging rockers are able to date super model after super model after super model – for some reason there are women who are completely enamored of a man who can sing or play a guitar. I can guarantee you if Chris Brown was a hood rat standing on the corner somewhere selling crack those idiots wouldn’t give him the time of day, much less invite him to “beat me all night long”.

Some women (and men) absolutely develop a serious case of cranial-rectal inversion over the shallowest of things – whether or not someone can sing or dance, or whether or not the plastic Bimbo Barbie has fake melons bolted to her chest & is airbrushed six ways from Sunday. Crazy. We’ve become a culture that is ruled by celebrity worship rather than a culture of morals & values. I don’t care what a man looks like, if he can sing, dance, fly to the moon, or if he’s made of money – if he’s a woman beater I would not give him the time of day. Some women (& men) will sell their souls for a pittance.

Being a person who grew up in an abusive home, knowing what it is like to be beaten for no reason; and a male rape victim ( at 17) I have a VERY DIM VIEW of this kind of this kind of creature. I am not there; so if this woman chooses to reconnect with this creature, that is her decision.
If I liked his music….it would all be deleted and/or shredded then burned….

I’m not that big a country music fan but good for Ms Lambert taking a stand. The tunes she sings are more American and ful of pride than any of Brown’s obscene junk. Why any girl would want to have him “ beat me allllllll night long ” has obviously not been brought up correctly, or is a plain and simple tramp. Sorry, had to say it.

The entertainment industry is a reflection of how low American society has fallen. The American people empower these pukes by buying their garbage. Chris Brown is trash and, i’m sorry, but anyone who supports this punk by buying his crap is trash as well. As far as those girls tweeting……if you lay down with thugs you might wake up with black eyes and broken bones.

WOW! the blaze is doing some serious censorship on my posts today. It seems like just saying the word “black” gets your post deleted these days. Is this the blaze or is this MSNBC?

I’m ashamed how many people can worship Chris Brown or any other celebrity. I do not care what background they come from; to me they’re all trash. Disgusting!

I do not know about awards and could care less who wins this or that. Most of these shows are used to kiss the celebrities butts for publication. That is all I see when the media gives these people attention. Parents do not waste your hard earned money and time worrying about television. I’m not saying it is a sin but do something that will better you and your family lives.

look how Michael Jackson was looked upto and he molested young kids, So many in this country admire those that are drug attics, woman beaters, Dog fighting killers (Vik)and yet they get all the fame and glory they think they deserve. Sadly enough the politicians are treated the same way. when they do wrong, it is passed over, and they get chance after chance after chance.

Yes how quickly the entertainment industry forgets and apparently is willing to forgive such a nasty man. The press should refuse to broadcast him in any good light. But it happens again and again. I however do not forget. I don’t forget Bobby Brown and what he did either, I don’t forget O.J. Simpson and what he did. I don’t forget any of it. and that’s forever.
