‘Courage to Remember’: Beck Hosts Jerusalem Program Focusing on the Holocaust

The second night of the “Restoring Courage” events in Israel took place the Old Train Station in Jerusalem.

“An amazing land, an amazing people,“ Glenn Beck said as he began the program he entitled ”Courage to Remember.”  The program focused on the Holocaust and the lessons that need to be newly learned today.

Rabbi Moshe Rothchild opened with a prayer tying the evening‘s location to the evening’s theme:

“Tonight as we gather beside these old train tracks in Jerusalem, we remember another set of tracks.

The tracks that led our brothers and sisters to the infamous places of Auschwitz, Birkenau, Buchenwald, Majdanek, Treblinka and Sobibor…and all the places of death and darkness.

We pray that our gathering her tonight should bring forth healing and light.”

This clip includes the initial remarks by Beck and Rabbi Rothchild:

Beck then introduced actor Jon Voight, who’s talk veered from comical accounts of his attempts at dancing to Jewish tunes, to deeply serious stories of his work in Israel with victims wounded by suicide bombers. 

“What I witnessed would tear my heart out,” he said.  “I feel completely outraged for anyone who would make any excuse for this kind of barbarism.  And I feel complete contempt for anyone who is not intelligent enough to see that this propaganda in the media, painting the Palestinians as poor victims, is capable of destroying the Jewish nation in Israel.”

The main part of the program featured a screening of a very personal documentary, “Kleiner Rudy,” which tells the family story of filmmaker Michelle Stein Teer.  She chronicles her grandfather’s return, at age 85, to the German town of Norden where he lost his own father and thirty members of his family the Holocaust.

Beck gave an impassioned introduction to the documentary:

After the screening Beck led a panel discussion including Michelle Stein Teer, Rabbi David Greenblatt of United With Israel, David Brog of Christians United for Israel, and auther Mike Evans who‘s emotional life story was a highlight of the first evening’s program in Caesarea.

    I thought, according to some media outlets, that this was all about Glenn and not about the Jews. I guess, then, that the movie they showed was a Speilberg-directed piece on Norden. It wasn’t? The divider, Glenn, did it? He is an angry man huh?

      Wonderful event, but is causes pain and frustration when Jewish and Christian leaders recognize the children of Israel (Abraham) but don’t recognize the children of Noah. It strikes my heart when speakers uphold the Jewish people for keeping the Laws during thousands of years of war against them, but fail to recognize there were thousands of years of peaceful history among Noah‘s descendants where the world followed the six laws of Adam plus Noah’s injunction to create a system of courts. History is recorded, — the archeology exists. Genesis didn’t start with Abraham and Moses, the first God (creator of the Universe) loving human was Adam. Truly, we are ALL brothers and sisters and its time to unite and flush the world of the sociopathic bad seed of Ham if they can’t act human and follow the simple laws of civilized behavior.

      I‘m Jewish and I never said God doesn’t measure history through the nation of Israel. Abraham was the 10th generation from Shem. What I AM saying is there was a peaceful civilization from after the Flood circa 12,000 BCE until 3123 BCE when a meteor exploded in southern Bavaria. This was recorded in Sumerian Planisphere tablets and confirmed by archeology. It caused climate change and the first wars. Out of control Hamites, motivated by fear and booty, wreaked havoc and they haven’t stopped.

      It is this history which is covered up, but modern tools and curious minds of free people have put together the “big picture”. I am all about the Truth of History, but one cannot fully understand the totality and simplicity of history without being able to account fully for the last 12,000 years and not only the last 4,000 years. Shem’s (and Japeth’s) line are seminal as Abraham‘s bloodline comes directly from Shem and Sarah’s bloodline (she is from Haran, a city of intermingled bloodlines of both Shem and Japeth)

      50 million people dies in WWII. ALl of their deaths no more or less tragic than any others. Good question.. Why aren’t THEY memorialized? There are now generations of people who actually think WWII was about Jews because the holocaust was drilled into them non stop.

      This website has too much religious content. Many of these posters are getting confused between politics and religion. A dangerous mix.

      And .. as good Christians and Jews they will post insults to me for posting this.. my opinion

      But Israel? Not on the list of things I care about. Here in America we are facing more violence EVERY DAY than Israel sees in a month. If you’re going to RESTORE anything it should be America first. Then you can help out the rest of the world.

    I am so proud of the stance Glenn Beck has taken in support of Israel. The slanted coverage that is provided by the media is still baffling to me. Slanting the news of events in Israel and the disputed land around it doesn’t make since to me since the media is supporting the very people (Palestinians and pro-Muslim countries around it) that would shut them down or control their content if they were able. They don’t show the Palestinian attacks, but make a big deal of the retaliation. We as Americans would never tolerate what Israel has tolerated if we were the ones being bombed constantly. The hypocracy of the media, the UN, and many liberals in our country is just insane. Satan is definitely having an influence. May God bless Israel and the U.S. We will only survive if we stand with Israel.

      Thank you. Still listening to Restoring Courage, part II. It’s even better than the first night! I truly believe Glenn is sincere. He is right, about making sure to remember the holocaust, so we don’t fall of that cliff again… I’ve been seeing the anti-semitism ricing all around from members of the left, some on the right. Glenn’s message is spot on.

I am a citizen of the USA, I love and cherish this country and proud to be a citizen of the greatest country on earth. Soros was only a “holocaust survivor” because he pretended to be a Christian and joined the Nazis in, at the very least, confiscating the property of Jews.       Not so. Soros was 14 when he accompanied the Gentile protector to whom his father had entrusted him, and who was taking inventory of the property of a Jewish family. He took no part in the confiscations. The family in question survived. If Soros chooses to deemphasize his Jewish roots, that’s his business.

    I read wiith amusement the comments from whomever is still supporting the ‘Jews are not actually Biblical ’from Israel’ Jews, but are Turkic Khazars’ who converted in the early Middle Ages theory. This theory usually comes on strong as a central premise from white Christian supremacists who wish to cement their claim that they are the true ‘Lost Tribes of Israel’ and not the actual Jews.

    This poor person must not have read the genetic studies that have come out in the past 7 years or so, which show the direct ethnic connection between ALL Jews of the world, regardless of current location and whether they were Ashkenazi or Sephardic Jews.

    Interestingly, the genetic studies showed that of all the European groups that Jews have most in common with, it was the Italians. The non-European groups that rated closest genetically were obviously the Palestinians, but also, curiously, the Kurds.

      The Khazar theory of Ashkenazic Jewish origins is pretty well discredited, but would it even matter if it were true? Most of the Jews presently living in Israel were born there. Whatever may be true of the pioneering generations, today’s Israelis are as indigenous as the Palestinians. They’re not a settler population, they’re descendants of a settler population, and should have the right to live where they live as much as Protestant Irish have to live in Northern Ireland, or Afrikaners in South Africa, or Americans of colonial descent in America.

      I read your post with both amusement and disgust. I am a jew, i trace back my family history to Aaron the high priest (you remember him from your bible don’t you. My wifes grandmother traces back to King David (ever heard of him Psalms? etc..)
      My ancestors lived in the same lands for about 2800 years before emigrating to america. Interestingly enough I’m not nearly the only one. of our community that can make these lineage claims. i am part of a 65,000 strong community of jews who trace back there jewish roots for thousands of years.
      Now as to your claim that all jews are Kazars and not biblical jews well that’s just plain rubbish and revisionist history. But i suppose if you are going to tell the big lie like Goebbels did you might as well make it big and ignore facts completely.
      BTW what historical evidence do you have that there ever were a Kazar people living in Europe who all mass converted to judaism?
      Also how much of the bible have you ever read in the original hebrew? I’m pretty sure the answer to that is zero. just about the same as your credibility.

      Most sources agree that at least the Khazar Khans converted to Judaism some time around 700 AD, but that the Khazars played little or no role in the formation of the Jewish communities of Europe.

      I’ve talked with Jews that admit they are Khazars! Why be ashamed of your genetic roots? THe Holocaust was a sad event in human history that never should of happen and was of the Devil!!!!! I sincerely don’t wish violence on any group of people and there are good people in all ethnic groups and religions!!! But what I sincerely don’t understand is why the Jews NEVER care about other cases of ethnic slaughter that goes on around the world both past and present! They only care about themselves!       Can you really trace your lineage back to King David? Do you have reliable records proving that?
      I understand that the genealogy records so meticulously kept by the Hebrews were destroyed in the year 70 when the Romans completely destroyed the Temple and carried off or destroyed anything they considered worthless. It was then that the Jews were scattered to various places and could not from that point on PROVE that they were of a particular tribe or family line of Judah.
      I can only go back to 1730 for my family and even those records might not be completely accurate.

      Dmitry Vasilyev, a professor at Astrakhan State University, said his nine-year excavation near the Caspian Sea has finally unearthed the foundations of a triangular fortress of flamed brick, along with modest yurt-shaped dwellings, and he believes these are part of what was once Itil, the Khazar capital.

      By law Khazars could use flamed bricks only in the capital, Vasilyev said. The general location of the city on the Silk Road was confirmed in medieval chronicles by Arab, Jewish and European authors.

    Two days in a row, and I still can’t log in…

    I called GBTV today, after waiting on the phone for three hours. The finally answered me. The lady could see that I’m an Insider Extreme subscriber. She tried to give me a new password over the phone. Which didn’t work. She tried this twice.

    So they found out there is a problem in there system, they too were able to ‘repeat the problem’ on their end! They are looking into how to resolve it. The only problem is now I’m still waiting its been about 3 hours since I called… I’m now trying to call again.

    I’ve been on hold now for maybe half hour so far…

    So it looks like I’ll be missing day 2 as well!

      You simply need to convert your Insider Extreme log in protocol,
      which does NOT use email to log in….

      to the new GBTV log in protocol,
      which DOES use email to log in.
      1. Log in using your original log in method followed by your new reset password that was recently emailed to you. (presuming you asked for a new password). Find that email and use it as a link to log in.
      2. Once you have logged in using the old way, without email, then you can convert to GBTV log in.
      They will ask you for your email, followed by your new reset password…twice for confirmation.
      3. Voila! You will be there.
      Happened to me. Once I knew log in had changed from non-email …to…email, followed by new reset password, it was easy.

      I too was unable to login to my Insider Extreme account since Friday. SInce that account was due to expire in Sept, I just opened a new account with GBTV Plus for the $4.95 and went with that. I was able to then login and set both my Rokus up. There is an issue with the account transfers to GBTV plus from Insider Extreme.

      HI…just to be sure….go to glennbeck.com. click on GBTV in the top menu. you will get a place to log in. If you are an existing insider extreme member there might be a different button, but click login. If you were an insider extreme member, there will be a menu that has your e-mail address as your user id and a place to type in a password. If your e-mail address does not automatically appear, just type it in. The password is not automatically the same as your old one. You have to make a new password – it can be the same as your old one was but can be only letters and/or numbers (no special symbols like #). Type in the password you want to use (even if you feel like you are typing in your same old password) and then type it in again in the next box to confirm. You get a note that says something like thank you for updating your account. Then you are in. That will be your new username and password from now on.

      That worked for me when I first migrated to GBTV. I hope this is helpful to you.

      “You simply need to convert your Insider Extreme log in protocol,
      which does NOT use email to log in….

      to the new GBTV log in protocol,
      which DOES use email to log in.
      1. Log in using your original log in method followed by your new reset password that was recently emailed to you. (presuming you asked for a new password). Find that email and use it as a link to log in.
      2. Once you have logged in using the old way, without email, then you can convert to GBTV log in.
      They will ask you for your email, followed by your new reset password…twice for confirmation.
      3. Voila! You will be there.
      Happened to me. Once I knew log in had changed from non-email …to…email, followed by new reset password, it was easy.”

      That didn’t work for actually, actually, and was probably part of the problem of why it glitched in their system. Somewhere along the lines, the ‘login name“ and ”email” was turned to gibberish in there system. They had to fix it.

      sacredhonor………..I cant log in either. I think I have subscribed twice. I`m missing the whole thing. I`ve had little time outside work to log in for very long. Its not like here where you can jump in and out quickly. I hpe that what ever the problem is it will soon be over. Gotta figure out if I have two and drop one of them. Was able to log in once with th second one but that was all, once. Lotus.

      Llotus you should definitely call them. Both people I talked to were very nice about it. The second person noticed that somenow the system glitched up my email, which was the reason I couldn’t log in or receive messages back.
