Court Grants Emanuel a ‘Stay’ to Remain on Ballot During Court Battle

CHICAGO (The Blaze/AP) — The Illinois Supreme Court has halted the Chicago board of elections from printing any mayoral ballots without Rahm Emanuel’s name on them.

The high court is still determining whether to consider an appeal filed by Emanuel after a state appeals court ruled that he could not run for Chicago mayor because he didn’t live in the city for a year before the Feb. 22 vote.

On Tuesday, the high court said that if any ballots are printed, they must include the former White House chief of staff’s name while the court decides whether to take the case.

The Chicago Board of Election Commissioners has said it would begin printing ballots without Emanuel’s name on Tuesday. Messages left for Chicago election officials weren’t immediately returned.

Earlier this morning, My Fox Chicago showed what the ballots would have looked like without Emanuel’s name on them:

Court Grants Rahm Emanuel Stay to Appear on Ballot Printing While Appeal Decided: MyFoxCHICAGO.com

This is a breaking story. Updates will be added. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

ACORN Housing has changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America, Inc., and that other ACORN connected groups include: Arkansas Community Organizations, Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, and Missourians Organizing for Reform Empowerment and more…

soros has obama pushing those money buttons in the corrupt IL Supreme Court men’s club locker room to get Chicago sewn up. obama will need the Chicago unions and his ghettos to push 2012 thru. Chgo is really still a jewel in the Midwest belt as far as banking and trades and transportation, and all those rich democrat Jews on the Gold Coast. soros needs it.

we had 2 life-long union members back in Chgo in 2008 and they were TOLD to vote obama. (they didn’t.) an obama logo sticker appeared on their truck bumper, they scraped it off. an obama logo appeared on their heavy equipment. they scraped it off. and then it cost them a hassle to get the sand out of their gas tank…. it happened that sneaky democrat way because everyone knew this family is heavily armed. we may be Christian Conservatives, but we won’t walk peacefully unarmed into a fight.

A stay is not a win . . . maybe, just maybe the Illinois Supreme Court will do the right and legal thing here. This bastard has the nerve to compare his situation to a soldier serving overseas. All the cheap bastard had to do was to maintain a residence, keep a tooth brush there, a key to the front door, and be their once in a while. Everyone knows he rented his house and moved to the DC area He could have avoided all this if he‘d left his White House ’gig’ a year earlier. Question. Did Rahm pay any Illinois state taxes during this time as a resident? To be a resident you must actually live in the state for a set period of time! Hell, I’ll be a resident of Alaska then, there’s no state income tax and as a resident you actually receive money from their oil and gas industry. Rahm’s a mafia bastard and low life.

Oh, it’s enforced every day. Against people like me and out and our dog named Boo. But “the law is the law” does not apply any longer. They’re above the law. They rule through lawlessness, while holding us to account for every single time we might accidentally jaywalk.

Why we still allow them power over us, when they follow no laws themselves, is beyond me.

“Rep. Danny Davis, an African-American said “The African American community has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the Clintons.. but that could be fractured or even broken should President Clinton come to town and participate overtly in efforts to thwart the legitimate political aspirations of Chicago’s black community.”
