Court Sides With Muslim Woman Suing Over NY Border Detainment

CINCINNATI (AP) — A federal appeals court has sided with an Ohio Muslim leader who is trying to find out why she was detained at a border crossing five years ago.
Julia Shearson is director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations office in Cleveland. She was stopped by U.S. border agents in Buffalo, N.Y., in 2006 as she returned with her daughter from a weekend in Canada.
Shearson later sued for records about her case from the departments of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection.
She also wanted to pursue claims against the government for alleged violations of privacy laws, a move rejected by a federal judge.
The federal appeals court in Cincinnati overturned that decision Thursday and sent the case back to the lower court.
The Justice Department declined to comment.

After 20 years of dealing with this kind of thing I can tell you that there exists certain ethnic groups, some from India, some from Arabia (yeah I know so can it!! We’re talking ethnicity here), some from Africa, that use our civil laws for sport.. This could very well be an example of that..
Your point is well taken. The Communists always said they would destroy us from within. That is exactly what they meant. Muslims, Latinos, Blacks, Gays, whoever; they use our laws all the time to achieve ethnic-specific agendas. Those that are achieved via over-reaching courts only serve to alienate various ethnic groups. Hence, the deteriorating race relations in the US.

We were always stopped and questioned by the custom agents on both sides. I have also had my car searched which took a few hours. Of course, I am NOT completely familiar with this case I think that if you obey the law and you are “inconvenienced” there is nothing needed to be done. Write to their supervisors and demand an apology for this minor grievance! Yet again, this is a silent plan to tie up the US court systems with ANY real or percieved outrage against a muslim so that we will look away and be afraid to act on REAL events!!!
