CPAC: Day Two Compressed Into 100 Seconds of Video

The Conservative political stars were shining at CPAC yesterday in Washington. If you were unable to be there, the folks at Talking Points Memo selected some representative moments that captured much of the mood from Friday’s events and packed them into a short video.

Here is the TPM 100-second highlight reel from CPAC’s second day.

The superhighway to socialism is the progressive income tax code. Newt proposes a low, flat tax; while Romney‘s and Santorum’s proposals remain, ahem, progressive. Progressivity allows those who pay little or no taxes to vote enthusiastically for those who promise to raise the rates of the rest of us.

You neglected to mention Ron Paul’s tax plan: 0%

Lower than Newt’s, flatter than Mitt‘s and more fair than Santorum’s.

And according to the WSJ, it would be the biggest jolt our economy has ever seen.

Why are you attacking Gingrich so much? You appear to think that Gingrich is a sinner and you aren’t. You may not have cheated on your spouse, but you are still a sinner. The only difference between you and Gingrich is that Gingrich’s sins have been plastered all over your television for everybody to see. The reason we see so much negative media coverage of Gingrich is because he is not part of the establishment just like Sarah Palin wasn’t. Gingrich has publicly stated that he asked God for forgiveness and it will be left up to the people to decide. What more do you want? Furthermore, we do not know if his ex-wife was paid large sums of money from ABC to do that interview just before the debate. Gingrich is the only candidate that can make real changes on his first day in the Whitehouse. Have you heard him speak at CPAC? It’s worth listening to. The media has manipulated your perception of Gingrich since his landslide victory in South Carolina with so much negative coverage. Let’s not let the media choose our candidate for us this time around. The media is not concerned about Romney, because they know Obama will beat him in the first question during the first debate as it gets closer to November. Gingrich is the only candidate that can debate Obama as long as everybody stands behind him. Ron Paul’s foreign politicies are wacky and Santorum is a good conservative, but he does not have the experience. Gingrich is the only one that can handle Obama.

I strongly agree. Don’t choose the Dole-McCain successor. Choose the Reagan successor.* Don’t listen to cheerleaders for the non-Newt, high-spending, bridge-to-nowhere Congress they favor over the Newt-led Congress that balanced the budget without raising taxes. If Newt couldn’t lead then, as his detractors assert, then he deserves all the credit for those accomplishments!

Newt has turned out to be such a disappointment. In the beginning it looked like he was able to put things together and be taken serioulsy over the long haul but that kind of turned to poop after he slid into self pity and got angry at Mitt Romney. He seems to have forgotten that this whole process is designed to see who can withstand the heat without melting, maintain his integrity and keep his machine on task. Even though we are a forgiving electorate we demand that our guy be tougher than what Newt appears to be. Obama will be. You can bet on that.

I like his Mormonism just about as much as I like his ability to make things happen. Almost everyone who knows anything about Mormons knows they are the epitome of Amercian virtue, hardwork, ethics and ability to take care of themsleves and their own. They are active in civic affairs and are truely a Godly people – which makes them public enemy #1 among leftists and some screwball so called Christians too.
What makes them particlalury attractive is they never bad mouth other religions and media find them “curious”. That last part should tell you a lot.

WITHOUTGUILE, he didn’t need the chump change from his government temporary job, last year he made $21million on interest from his investments. If you made that kind of money, would you keep those paychecks? He mad more per week than the job paid, so sure, it as a contributable donation not to get paid. I’m not complaining about how much he makes, it is the dream of most all in America, but to say it was a noble thing, no, it was a campaign talking point.

Newt needs some backup support. Of all the candidates, he is the only one that has actually accomplished improvements in the economy, jobs, unemployment, balanced budget, but as said, I don’t remember a lot of the things the media attempts to make us think happened in the past, and all the little clips of news and lectures he has conducted definitely do not reflect his voting record. The thing about his personal baggage is, he has never tried to hide his faults, he has apologized for them, and no, none are without sin.

I keep hearing people say, well, Mitt is electable, but you know what? I don’t care about an Olympics that was made successful, happens every two years, not a major accomplishment, making unemployment reach an all-time low, getting off foreign oil, more jobs, smaller government and more control back to the states instead of the Fed, and rediculous regulations reduction, Czar disbandment, Obamacare gone, etc.. We the people decide the winner, not the media, We vote the candidate, we make Newt electab

Is your lawn neat, clean, your kids, pets well behaved? Are you doing a great job at work or with your employees. YOU are the best advertisement for a PATRIOTIC AMERICA. When your own house is in order, then you can get active in the local GOP or TEA PARTY etc. WE will ALL need to work doing something at least if we want to save this country. YOUR ACTIONS SPEAK MUCH LOUDER THAN YOUR WORDS, PEOPLE.

CONSERVATIVE: ALL of the 4 remaining Candidates are head and shoulders above OBAMA who hates AMERICA, wants to destroy it..regardless of what we hear him say…look at his actions. We have let things slide so long in America that we need to accept the fact that not every thing the person running is going to say, we’ll agree with…but the mere fact that he’s NOT OBAMA is enough for me. IF we don‘t stop OBAMA we won’t get another chance. I really dislike people ‘clucking’ about Conservative or not. I’m a fiscal Conservative, and as a Christian I want to help as many people as possible…I don’t think hand outs are the way to go. I don’t expect perfection. I expect PATRIOTISM.

OH, you can be “BRAVE” an an anonymous blogger…before the election…as a FREE AMERICAN…but if you don’t do everything in your power to STOP OBAMA, you won’t have a country anymore. Here is what you loose:

      1. Freedom of Religion
      2. Freedom of Speech, including right to post whatever on web sites, and he will start charging for the web sites per second (like a long distance call) – He tried this and got shot down…but not if he gets alected.
      3. Totally Open Borders…he doesn’t care where the “votes” come from…he has his Secret Service..he just wants votes for HIS NEXT TERM (S) after this term
      4. Sharia Law will replace RULE OF LAW – he is a MUSLIM. HE talks about 57 states, doesn’t celebrate Christmas or Birthdays…he is a Muslim. ALSO: ANY effort to question his status as an AMERICAN eligible to be President will be totally squashed… all such things like his FOREIGN STUDENTS card, etc. will disappear.
      5. HIS “ Volunteer Army ” will rule the streets just like the BROWN SHIRTS did in Hitler’s Germany. There were only 3 % of the GERMANS who let him get away with his reign of terror… remember that. Then, all of his traitorous informants etc. were killed…just in case any of you think you may want to go that route.
      6. HE will put in CAP and TRADE (Cap and TAX) which is government’s way of taxing you for the very air you breathe. He will finish off the COAL industry. HE will never let USA co’s drill for USA OIL…he’s Muslim, remember?

Newt’s CPAC speech WAS the BEST..so inspiring !

    The crowd LOVED him.
    He touched on everything-
has a solution for EVERY problem.
Gingrich is just what America needs right now-
a LEADER with strength, wisdom & wit.

It is to his credit, that the idiots, on Capitol Hill & in DC, disparage him-
they are the VERY idiots, who need to be stripped of power-
stayed too long at the party, dining on the public trough.

    This is a NO-Brainer, America-
Gingrich has all the brains and chutzpah to make REAL change.
It’s no wonder, the undesirables & RNC establishment, are afraid of him.

Willard Romney’s teleprompter, CPAC speech was a mealy-mouth mess.
    he’s going nowhere…FAST.
Once a loser, ALWAYS a loser.
Old Willard takes “Pride”, in being a Washington outsider-
but, as Newt pointed out, in a previous debate,
the ONLY reason Willard’s an outsider, is because he lost campaigns
    to Kennedy & McCain.
    Not only is Willard a so-called outsider, he’s a washed-up outsider !

Below is the link for Newt’s CPAC speech.
Sarah Palin would agree, Gingrich hit it out of the park.

Nobody stands up to Gingrich…NOBODY !

Anybody remember what happened to the first government we had? Where the states had basically all the power…the one that lasted so long…oh wait…There IS a need for SOME government intervention, and EVERY world superpower HAS to interact with the world to REMAIN that superpower! Isolationism is an irresponsible and ignorant way to think. It is EASY and convenient, but impossible to enact. That is Rep. Paul’s main allure, he simplifies things. He is right on the Fed, misguided on his foreign policy. Sorry for the rant, just can‘t understand how people think we don’t have responsibility as the world’s greatest and most benevolent superpower EVER.

The problem with our foreign policy is it is being decided by men and women, not ELECTED to office, and corporations whose interest doesn’t represent “We the People”. These policies are made behind closed doors with no transparency. Now while “We the People” have no say foreigners do. Take a look at this quote from the mission statement of the CFR’s 2011 annual report.

“- convening meetings at its headquarters in New York and in Washington, DC, and other cities where senior government officials, members of Congress, [global leaders], and prominent thinkers come together with CFR members to discuss and debate major international issues;” (emphasis added)

Who are these global leaders and why do I give a rat’s ass what they think? This is a think tank created by Woodrow Flipp’n Wilson!! Now, let’s take a look at it’s membership, shall we…

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CFR-Interlocks-2004.jpg

The first thing I notice is George Soros, Fannie Mae, Morgan Stanely, Citigroup, Harvard, the Clinton Administration, the Bush’s, etc… Who is spreading their agenda? Well, conveniently… our media (ALL OF THEM) happen to be members. Coincidence?

Now perhaps they’re right and there’s nothing nefarious going there, then why no transparency? Why isn’t our foreign policy discussed, debated, and vetted in congress where it is supposed to be, so “We the People” have a say in the matter and know that our representative

…if only we could actually believe…their speeches are beautiful and they have such stage presence…..I want to click my heals and get back to Kansas…I feel like we are on the Titanic…and they are announcing , just go back to your stateroom it will be ok………I wish someone would tell us the truth, the ship is going down and you better put on your life jacket, grab a candybar from the vending machine, it is going to be a long and very cold night. Wake up America, prepare, prepare, prepare.

“Yes we can” should be the new model for non progressive Democrats. Our enemies are within two groups. One is the communist dominated Democrat party. The other is the professional bureaucracy of the Country Club Republicans that like the largess of “big Government”. Hopefully, the Libertarians and Tea Party People will clean the Washington Barn of both in November. It may take more than one election but hopefully, who ever becomes president will fumigate the place and work to dismantle the progressive program. YEA!

At CPAC Gingrich Jokes About Tracking Immigrants Via Mail
Well, it turns out Gingrich‘s suggestion wasn’t far from reality.
In a lawsuit filed Wednesday, two Guatemalans allege that Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were guilty of unreasonable search and seizure, and racial profiling when they arrested Guatemalan nationals picking up a package at a FedEx facility in Florida.
The package contained a passport mailed to one of them by the Guatemalan government in the type of sting Gingrich was jokingly suggesting…

The republicans are lying to us – America will not go down the tubes if Obama is re-elected, America is already far past the rubicon, there is no hope for our economic/financial system, it is destroyed, and along with it, the hopes and dreams of most Americans.

    Hey, just sayin’.

We might as well be honest with ourselves and begin thinking in terms of how to manage and prosper in the post dollar world. It’s not hopeless for us as individuals, just for the ones who depend on a government check.

Now, if we could just get all those fine conservative politicians speaking to the real boogey man in the room:. Yes, Gertrude, that would be Saudi campaign cash!

Everybody on that stage wallows in the cash and corruption it brings. The cash is why we have named conspirators from terror trials roaming about the country with HQ offices in and around DC! The cash is why the Saudi Academy in Fairfax is still teaching hatred of the U.S. just 15 miles from the White House. The cash is why we don’t even recognize one of the the largest oil discoveries that the world has ever seen, the Bakken, in our Rocky Mountains.

End America’s dependence on foreign oil and the wars go away and so do much of our fiscal problems.
