‘Crackers!’: Woman Goes Shirtless During Wild, Racist Rant on NYC Subway

The PATH train connects New York City with the New Jersey suburbs across the Hudson River. It’s known for its yuppie Jersey riders, not its racist-ranting, angry, and shirtless women railing against “crackers.” But during a recent trip, that’s exactly what happened.
According to video of the event uploaded to YouTube, the woman, who is black, “was trying to beat up her brother when some ‘crackers’ intervened.”
You might also notice the green shirts and the four-leafed clovers. That’s because St. Patrick’s Day celebrations start in early March in New York City:

There is an old Jamaican thing that when folks get into a really emotional argument that one might bring the matter to a head by saying “min’ me tek off mi clothes dem right yaso inna di street” – I don’t know the origin of the expression but I suppose that it goes back to days when clothing was more highly valued and scarce and so the threat to “tek off mi clothes dem” is a warning that the person is ready to fight and get dirty and bloody as might be. Then again it might have to do with the old Biblical practice of “renting” clothing when mourning or vexed beyond reason. Just thinkin’ out loud.
