The White SUVs just keeps backing up, and backing up…until thud!
But KGTV-10’s Sports Reporter Ben Higgins doesn’t skip a beat–he continues his report about the NCAA basketball tournament unfazed, eventually saying, as you can see in this version of the clip, “back live here in Tucson, and just barely….”
What a professional.
His camera operator, whom Higgins credits with saving his life, luckily jumped in to stop the car.

Report Post »A few years ago, it was always about the SUV, if there was any accident, never the driver operating it.

Posted on March 19, 2011 at 10:37pmI’m whispering this… I almost ran over my husband like this once. I was backing out of the garage. There is a big blind spot in these vehicles (which we no longer have). He was NOT CALM about the ordeal. He punched the back of the vehicle really hard, just like this guy’s photographer did. We never speak of this.

Posted on March 19, 2011 at 6:21pmThis SUV was backing up – too long a distance – for it to be an accident.
There is no way the driver did not see this reporter –
unless they were talking on their cell phone while driving.

Posted on March 19, 2011 at 12:41pmIt was nice of his cameraman to NOT do anything about helping. Anything for the shot, right?

Posted on March 19, 2011 at 1:55pm@TOPPERJ – Did you have an A.D.D. moment or did you even watch the same video I just did?
The reporter specifically thanked his camera operator “Jeff LaValley” for stopping the SUV. Camera is clearly on a tripod. Cameraman was likely watching the scene unfold in the view finder then stepped from behind the camera to stop the SUV. It is very clear that the reporter had no idea what was going on until after the cameraman stopped the SUV and the reporter then saw the SUV behind him.

Posted on March 19, 2011 at 11:23amDid anybody really watch the video? He is not on the street. He is on the walkpath, its just a wide one. The idiot driver is backing up the walkpath. Which with all these comparisons to government today fits well, our idiots in government have been driving backwards uphill on a wide path without watching for danger or slowing down, soon we will crash.

Posted on March 19, 2011 at 6:16amGranted, standing in the middle of the street to give a report is not the brightest idea, but who backs up that far without looking behind them? Probably talkin’ on a cellphone.
