Last night in Houston two football teams went at it on the field with shoves, punches, and takedowns in a bench clearing brawl.
The Lamar vs. Chavez high school matchup was already tense by the second half, as the teams were playing very physical ball. But when a Lamar player put a late hit on Chavez quarterback, Demun Mercer, while he was running out of bounds, the QB’s retaliation against Lamar sparked a total melee that brought both teams into a massive pile-on of angry players.
Even players out of uniform got in on the fighting, as coaches and officials on both sides scrambled to separate the teams.
You can hear the announcer saying ‘There’s punches being thrown, there should be multiple ejections.’
In the end, Lamar won 42-16.

Buddy…
you’re gonna blow a piston.
We are all upset with the way the country is going.
Keep working on teaching others.
Self-implosion won’t help anything, and you’ll have one NASTY headache afterwards.
On the other hand, if you need to vent, here is as good a place as any.

throw them all in jail, they are just lucky that they were wearing pads and the personal injury was limited. If you do not then you send the mesage that it is ok….

Posted on September 24, 2011 at 1:15amI only noticed the one guy(Blue team – about 25 seconds in on the right side of the video) walking up real slow, take his hemet off, cocked back and tried wacking some guy not paying attention. He was trying to take that guys head off and thank god he just skimmed it. His own team mate stepped in at the perfect time(1 second could have been the difference of this video). crazy stuff

Posted on September 23, 2011 at 10:36pmIn Texas, nothing is bigger than high school football. Even college ball ranks second.People take this stuff seriously. Not soccer. Not baseball. Not basketball even come close. When you run into people you knew years ago, they don’t remember where you went to college, but they do remember where you went to high school because of the football teams and staunch rivalries! Games get very heated and is expected to happen from time to time. Late hits are not popular in pro ball and certainly not acceptable here. Fights will break out. This is what people look forward to and work toward through the wretchedly hot summers. Can’t wait till it really cools down to where we have to wear sweaters. A nippy 50 degrees ought to do it. Real cool football weather! I remember the Frito Pies, popcorn, and hot chocolate. Go Holmes Huskies 94′,Brackenridge 71‘ and JFK Rockets 71’! Hit em’ again, harder, harder!!! If you‘re not from here you will never get it and if you’re moving here, you’ll be hooked.

Posted on September 23, 2011 at 10:40pmThat’s because, at the college level, even in Texas, some evidence of literacy is required to play. Albeit on a very miniscule level. Especially in Texas.

Posted on September 23, 2011 at 10:34pmThe hype level of play of Texas football has never actually lived up to the hype, and so this is what you get, a bunch of LaCrosse players dressed up so they can’t get hurt, throwing pushing each other. Wow.

Posted on September 23, 2011 at 10:28pmIf you are going to move to TX, you need to be aware that HS football is followed by most adults, to tell the truth, I‘m kinda surprised that the parents didn’t come off the bleachers and join the pile-up! Boy, did that bring back memories of high school football games…

Posted on September 23, 2011 at 10:36pmSHIRE, Sorry to hear that this story brought back memories of receiving atomic-wedgies and being hung by the the ultra-stretched-shorts from the bleacher supports, only to be spat upon and laughed at by every heterosexual in your high school class. That’s gotta be a painful memory.

Posted on September 24, 2011 at 8:01amModel – you really are deficient mentally, aren’t you. I’ve read the rest of your posts and that is the only excuse I can think of. high school was not bad for me, apparently you were either the one receiving the “atomic wedgies” or the one giving them out. even back then, I did not let anyone bully me or my friends…hmmm it does seem like bullying is what you are doing on the Blaze… albeit a sort of weak pathetic type.

Posted on September 24, 2011 at 8:17amSoccer was brought to America by feminists, for Title IX, so other popular men’s sports could be dropped, due to budget constraints, and allow women the opportunity to play sporting events no one cares about or actually attends.
