Crowned! Romney Gets the Obama ‘Halo’ Treatment in New Pics

The American media has been widely ridiculed for its tendency to depict Barack Obama as some form of demi-god, often with a “halo” of sorts crowning his presidential head.

But now, is Mitt Romney beginning to get the “royal” treatment, as well?

On Tuesday in Indianapolis Getty took some photos of the Republican nominee, and he undeniably has a somewhat psychedelic, medieval-looking crown circling his head.

Artur Davis, who was once closely associated with the president but has since joined the Republican Party, described Obama and his legacy Tuesday: “we should have known that night in Denver that things that begin with styrofoam Greek columns and artificial smoke typically don’t end well…Maybe the Hollywood stars and the glamor blinded us a little:  You thought it was the glare, some of us thought it was a halo” [emphasis added].

And since 2008, there have been plenty of those halos.  In fact, here is a look back at some of the president’s crowning moments.

It began slowly, with a faint glow, in 2008:

But wasn’t long before the man looked proud beneath his adornment:

    Romney needs to publicly state that the halo nonsense has to end immediately. I didn’t like it with Obama and I refuse to accept it now. Romney is not a god or a saint, he’s a human being. Unlike the Left, we on the Right don’t worship political leaders.

    The midstream media deliberately created pictures of Barack Ovomit with a halo, to portray, “The One”, as a messiah. It was all propaganda. But if they do the same garbage with Romney now, it is probably so that they can deny that they ever favored Ovomit. This is a form of damage control.

      Many Renaissance painters depicted the apostles with halos. They seem to have fallen out of favor, until THE ONE arrived on the scene. Unlike THE ONE, the apostles actually were saints. I don’t recall one depriving others of their god-given rights, ordering drone strikes against fellow citizens and ‘enemies’ alike, or delighting in abortion.

      It’s just funny. I bought my one and only one copy of Newsweek with Obama in the rainbow halo because it makes my laugh. Has he no dignity? His ego is so out of control that his arrogance is easy to make fun of. For him and his handlers, their own arrogance will be their downfall. It will. Just think about it.

    I really wish the media wouldn’t do that. Romney isn’t the Messiah. If he does win, Americans will likely be called to sacrifice in order to help get the country back on a sustainable track. It’s not going to be all wine and roses, so why set him up like this.
