Current TV’s Next Great Left Hope is…Joy Behar?!

NEW YORK (AP/The Blaze) — Joy Behar is joining Current TV as the host of a prime-time talk show.

Behar’s nightly program on cable channel HLN ended in December. Current TV announced Monday that Behar’s new talk show will begin in September and will air Monday through Thursday at 6 p.m. Eastern time.
Next week she will guest anchor former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s show while he is on vacation.
Behar remains on “The View,” the daytime ABC show where she has been a fixture since its debut 15 years ago.
The left-leaning Current cable network is co-founded by Al Gore. It has introduced a slate of several talk shows both in prime time and the morning in the past year.
Behar previewed her upcoming show in an interview with the Huffington Post today:
She joins Current as it strives to present a more progressive alternative to MSNBC.Former Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm, former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, California lieutenant governor Gavin Newsom and former MNSBC host Cenk Uygur were added to its lineup earlier this year.
Though the channel’s programming focuses on political coverage, viewers should expect Behar’s show to be more varied. “They’re known for that, but I’m known for Joy Behar — whatever she is,” she said. Asked how she would fit in at the network, Behar brushed the question aside. “I seem to be able to fit in pretty well,” she said, referencing her fifteen-year run on “The View.”
In an interview with The Huffington Post on Monday, Behar said that Current approached her about doing a show, and she was “thrilled” to accept. She praised the network, saying, “I think it’s a progressive station, I think it’s ahead of the curve, and it’s going to become more and more popular.”
If these videos showing Behar’s interactions with such conservative luminaries as Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter are any guide, Behar will bring precisely the level of sound analysis and political sophistication we’ve come to expect from Current TV:

The Holy Grail is CurrentTV’s balance sheet. If it is a privately held country we won’t see it. Otherwise we can see if it is in the black or the red. The universe of viewers left of center is only so big& can only support so many businesses. Do they prefer Al Gore’s network over others? Well OlberFueherer formerly of MSNBC host & now CurrentTV. I think Behar will follow suit and do current TV no good. Sure she will be easier to mange & come to work on time, but I don;t think she will do much for audience.
The problem with white liberal media mavens of smart is that the so balkanized America, so many Democrats are watching ethnic TV.They have already watched the news and other shows on Univision, BET or some other channel. 40% of people label themselves as conservative versus 20-30% liberal. It is a fast shrinking pie for white liberal media types, their just deserts.
There is some Yiddish word that describes Behar adequately, I am not not sure which one it is right now.

It‘s obvious she thinks she’s smart, well versed, interesting and hot. That‘s like someone selling a sack of cheap fertilizer claiming it’s Cannel. Apparently she’s found some moronic lib producer who thinks Joy/s wonderful and who’s also deluded into believing a lot of people feel the same as they do. Well good luck! Joy stinks and so will the new show she’s going to headline. Before long we’ll be hearing how her driver tried talking to her, and how he stinks. It will take everyone else to inform her that the foul armoa she smells is coming from herself. I wonder if she’s going to keep her tradition, where she asks guests on her show to pull her finger. After they do, she goes into riproarious laughter saying: “did you hear that, sounds like someone stepped on a wet duck with sinky breath.”
