Czars Stay: Obama Ditches Campaign Promise to Never Use ‘Special Signing Statement’

The president signed into law today the $38 billion in budget cuts that the House and Senate approved earlier in the week week. But Obama said that there were certain provisions of the bill that he would not abide by.
Namely, the provision defunding the czars.
Jake Tapper of ABC explains:
Last week the White House and congressional Democrats and Republicans were involved in intense negotiations over not only the size of the budget for the remainder of the FY2011 budget, and spending cuts within that budget, but also several GOP “riders,” or policy provisions attached to the bill.
One rider – Section 2262 — de-funds certain White House adviser positions – or “czars.” The president in his signing statement declares that he will not abide by it.
But remember this?
Earlier this evening, Obama signed the budget bill, with the czars provision attached to it, according to the AP. At the same time, he issued a “signing statement”objecting to the defunding of the czars provision–and a couple others:
In an accompanying signing statement, however, Obama questioned the constitutionality of a provision in the spending bill that prevents the White House from retaining special policy advisers, or “czars.” He also objected to two other sections that block the transfer of terrorist suspects from the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to the United States or to other countries.
The president basically told Congress to shove it, issuing this statement about the provision defunding the czars:
The President has well-established authority to supervise and oversee the executive branch, and to obtain advice in furtherance of this supervisory authority…The President also has the prerogative to obtain advice that will assist him in carrying out his constitutional responsibilities, and do so not only from executive branch officials and employees outside the White House, but also from advisers within it. Legislative efforts that significantly impede the President‘s ability to exercise his supervisory and coordinating authorities or to obtain the views of the appropriate senior advisers violate the separation of powers by undermining the President’s ability to exercise his constitutional responsibilities and take care that the laws be faithfully executed.
The president went on, “the executive branch will construe section 2262 not to abrogate these Presidential prerogatives.”
Tapper translates:. “In other words: we know what you wanted that provision to do, but we don’t think it’s constitutional, so we will interpret it differently than the way you meant it.”

Just like him to say yea okay Ill sign it but I wont abide by the law I just enacted!! This guy continuously acts above the law esp wih his creation of czars. He has bypassed procedures and many times appointed individuals without Senate review.
Yea yea Bush had “czars” but many that were labeled as such were legit posts. Karl Rove, White House Senior Advisor, was listed as “Domestic Policy Czar” his Obama admin equal is David Axelrod who is not considered a czar! How does that work exactly lefties???
BHO has in fact created new positions true czars. Thats the difference btwn the two not to mention its is suggested that BHO has in fact 51 czars!!

Posted on April 16, 2011 at 9:20amYou see the main stream media is not reporting the failures of Obama; therefore only the folks that watch Fox, or do online research even know who he really is. For example, right now the MSM is publishing the Democrat talking points about the new Ryan bill just passed by the house; saying that it will do away with old folks medicare….which is not true at all. But, if CNN says it and omits the truth they all you hear is Seniors will lose health care. Most liberals don’t watch fox or come here…only trolls. The democrats in Congress may vote like sheep going to a slaughter, but I believe that a lot of people that voted the democratic ticket out here in the general public didn’t exactly get what they bargained for either, and I doubt that he’ll get their vote again. Posted on April 15, 2011 at 8:16pmWhere are the “checks and balances” that Mr. Stern blames?
• Obama declared war, bypassing the Congress
• Obama refuses to enforce laws passed by Congress (The Defense of Marriage act, Emigration Laws, etc)
• Obama creates law (bureaucratic rules and regulations) not authorized by Congress. An example is the EPA actions on Carbon Dioxide emissions
So Mr. Stern, just where are the “checks and balances.”
Is the United States still a republic? Where is the outrage in the Congress?
Can the Republic recover from the many recent assumptions of power by the Executive Branch?
Did the Republican’s really win control of the House of Representatives on Nov. 2? The

Posted on April 16, 2011 at 4:57pmBarack Obama, the President of the United States of America signed the legislation given to him by Congress making it the LAW OF THE LAND. What right has he to then say he would not abide by some of the provisions of the law he signed because they are, in his opinion, unconstitutional. Where does that power come from ? Obey, protect and preserve the US Constitution is a broken sworn oath, as far as Barack Obama is concerned. His refusal to abide by the law he himslf has signed is an impeachable offense of treason.
As the POTUS Barack Obama took a sworn oath to obey, protect and preserve the US Constitution. I may be wrong, but I don’t recall any article in the US Consstitution that gives the President, the Chief Executive of the Executive Branch of our American Government, the power to decide what is and what isn’t constitutional. Isn’t that the responsbility of the SCOTUS. Since when is the POTUS above the LAW ? Since January 2009 ? This guy must go, not after the 2012 election, but NOW.

The Red Roach doesn’t have to declare an emergency or resort to violence. He simply bypasses Congress and Judicial rulings when his agenda is opposed. It is that simple.
Perhaps further on in his dictatorship, he will dissolve Congress, but I doubt it. This tyrant wants to keep a stamped picture of our Constitutional Republic for the world to see, so he can spend more time playing golf, and less time having to answer to the international community. Domestically, the Traitor doesn’t need to answer to We the People. We have pretty much lost our voice. Just wait till 2012 comes along. His czars aren’t going anywhere, and he too will stay.

A military coup would mark the ending of the nation as established in the Constitution. Once the armed forces turned on their commander and the people, then the intstitution can never again be seen as trustworthy. HOWEVER, if Obama or any wannabe dictator, were to enact decree or take such power in clear violation of their oaths to the Constitution, then there would be grounds for the legitimate usage of removing him from office and then seating the next in line of legitimate succession as established by the Constitution.

==> “Both Socialist laws.”
I never said O’bum is a socialist. He’s a commie, and I’ve done enough looking to know how O’bum and all other Reds in power behave.
==> “Give facts, or shut the hell up.”
Ah, Mr. No, that’s where you are wrong. I don’t need to do either. You see, when I signed up on THIS blog my goal was to chat, debate, and share info and thoughts with LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE. Libs never were or will be the reason I am here. Therefore, I don’t have to give you anything, AND since Obamanites do not manage this site, I don’t have to shut up either.
Sometimes I choose to debate a liberal, but that is optional. Given your choice of words, I pass. Anyway, we have suffered over two years of Obamanation, and at this stage I feel it is not only futile but counterproductive to cater to every troll or lib who pops up on this site demanding to know what is wrong with Obama.
If you want to become informed about Obama’s ideology you can stick around this or any other non-liberal blog for a couple of months and read the stories. On the other hand, if you want to intimidate/silence me or anyone else here, you are wasting your time. You are on We the People’s turf, not the other way around.

Posted on April 16, 2011 at 9:01amIt has come to the point where this Great Nation of ours can no longer endure the destruction of it from our President. The time has come to demand the INPEACHMENT of him! When the premise of a Presidency is based on Lies, Deceit, Corruption and our Constitution is repeatedly used as a door mat, it is time for him to go! According to our Declaration of Independence, it is our duty to remove him from the Office of the Presidency! Where can you show me in any history a leader travels abroad and apologizes openly for his Country? It is time to stop the devastation that will inevitably effect generations of our children for years to come.
Now that a great deal of investigations have been done on his background and many of the controversies that surround him have been brought to light We have in office a President who puts forth a lot of effort to conceal who he really is. A wise man once said you can judge the character of a man by the people whom he surrounds him self with. If you look very closely at his hand picked czars, there is not one of them who have the interest of this Nation at heart, but only the demise of a free Nation governed by our Constitution and a Free Market.
I have never seen a time in Our Nation when it has been so engrossed in so much fear and utter despair because of the actions of a President. For the past two years you see new deceitful regulations that will either cripple or destroy Our American Life. We see countless regulations that have been implemented either through a back door or corruptly rammed through Congress on a regular basis. Unfortunately, too few of these back-door actions have surfaced and have become apparent to the public, but because of a few brave Patriots of our Nation, we are watching. So how many other regulations have been covertly obscured so they can not be found?
We can no longer watch idly by as an incompetent President encourages frivols spending of our Nation’s security or children’s futures! When a Nation’s cries to stop, fall on def ears, it is time for INPEACHMENT!

“@no to the tea party. You’re joking right??? Can you really be that ignorant??? How about gas at over $4.00 per gallon”
I suppose you might try and blame Obama for the $4.00/gal gas, but only in the part that makes you think that drilling our own oil will be cheaper – it won’t – the price of oil will remain the same – because if ours was less expensive – China would buy it. The price of oil is driven by speculators and what’s happening in the world. It doesn’t matter where you get your oil, it won’t be cheaper. Check just anything made in the US of A – it costs more to manufacture, labor costs, which is the why, we might as well drain the rest of the world first.
We grow oranges, grapefruit and lemons in Florida – tell me why when I go to the grocery to buy them, they come from Texas, California or even Brazil? Why do oranges here in Florida cost the same as those you buy in NY or Chicago? They don’t travel as far, so it’s not the delivery price, it’s the price fixing by the market. How can tomatoes grown in Mexico cost less than tomatoes grown in the US? it’s the same principle with oil and gas from the US. it won’t be cheaper, it will simply be keeping our money at home and not helping to fund Muslim fundamentalism and terrorism. Although, I’m not really sure how much oil the US actually gets from the middle east. me thinks I heard we get a lot of oil and gas from Canada, Mexico and soon – Brazil.
