D.C. 4th Grader Busted for Distributing Crack Cocaine at School

I’m trying to think… did I even know what cocaine was when I was 8 years old?

Several D.C. elementary school kids apparently do. Five Thomson Elementary School students were rushed to a local hospital last Friday after handling and/or ingesting cocaine — all of them between 8- and 9-years-old.

School administrators were alerted when the kids complained they weren’t feeling well and were examined by the nurse. An on-scene test on the substance by police yielded positive for cocaine.

School officials believe one child, aged 10, brought the drugs to school to share it with other kids. The child was scheduled to appear before a judge last Friday, but prosecutors have decided not to press charges. No drug charges have yet been filed against the parents and a search of the home reportedly turned up no drugs.

The case is now in the hands of the city’s Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). Meanwhile, the boy and his younger sibling have been removed from their home and are in foster care under the supervision of CFSA.

On Monday, toxicology reports confirmed that the drug was crack cocaine. The school’s principal recommends that the 10-year-old fourth grader be suspended from D.C. public schools for a full year.

In addition, the school held drug education counseling for students Monday.

    Kid found the crack in the back of his stepfathers car, that pretty much sums it all up! Some people just don’t give a damn what they do around thier children. Idiots need to be jailed for a long time its no wonder the black community is in such bad shape.

    This is just beautiful. Kids running around, doing drugs, having fun. This really is a heartwarming story about just how screwed up our country has become. I don’t know how the kid got the drugs, but whatever adult, whether it was his parents, a teacher, or just some petty drug dealer, who gave this kid these drugs should be disgusted and ashamed. Adults know the consequences of drugs and accept the responsibilities that come with being a druggie; but kids don’t know better. They probably don’t really understand what the consequences of doing drugs are, and probably don‘t even fully understand what they’re doing when they take them.

    Let me guess what caliber goes to the school. As for the parents, it probably was just a parent. Whose the daddy! The family probably was already in the welfare system.

    you don’t need crack to come from mexico.. all you need is a grocery store and a five gallon bucket, and scum of the earth parents

    My my, they are getting them young. The more drugs you can bring in from Mexico the more drug users you can have in the U.S….. then….when you want to control people…you use the drugs.
    Want to start a revolution? Just use drugs, if you do not know about the Summer of Love read up on it.
