A Canadian father was arrested and strip-searched Wednesday after his 4-year-old daughter drew a picture of a gun in her kindergarten class.

Ontario dad Jesse Sansone told the Toronto Sun his little girl’s drawing was supposed to be him, getting monsters and bad guys. Her teacher apparently thought differently, and the school contacted child protective services. When Sansone arrived to pick his daughter up, three police officers were waiting to take him into custody.

“I’m picking up my kids and then, next thing you know, I’m locked up,” he told the Waterloo Region Record. “I was in shock. This is completely insane.”

Police questioned Sansone’s daughter and his other children, who gave a “detailed description” of a firearm supposedly located in the house and easily accessible to them, Inspector Kevin Thaler of the Waterloo Regional Police said, according to the Calgary Herald.

“The kids were scared,” Thaler. “It is a 4-year-old that we’re taking the information from, but the fact is that this disclosure was very descriptive and very alarming to the officers investigating this.”

He said the arrest was made “because it was the end of the school day” and officers felt they needed to “secure and locate the firearm.”

When Sansone got to the school, he was told only that he was being arrested for possession of a firearm and given no additional details. At the police station, he was forced to remove his clothes for a full strip search. While he sat in a jail cell, police even brought his pregnant wife to the station for more questioning.

The “gun” his children told police about? A toy pistol that shoots foam darts, which police discovered during a search of his house.

“The child had every belief it was real,” Thaler said. “The indication from the kids was that it was dad’s [gun].”

Sansone was finally released after four hours. He said he’s furious and that his name has been slandered.

“So many people dealt with this situation in the wrong way,” he told the Sun. “I know the principal really well, how could he judge my character in this way? I drop off and pick the kids up every day, I always say hello, I sign every report card, I go to every parent teacher meeting, I am an active parent at that school.”

But the school, police and child welfare officials all stand by their actions, according to the Record.

“From a public safety point of view, any child drawing a picture of guns and saying there’s guns in a home would warrant some further conversation with the parents and child,” said Alison Scott, executive director of Family and Children’s Services.

The Sansone family is looking for a new school for their children to attend.

“The first thing my daughter said when I saw her was, ‘Daddy are you mad at me?’” Sansone said. “That sums it up to me.”

    Orwellian thought police are alive and well north of our border. I would say we need to completely close the border with Canada, but how do you keep ideas from freely flowing?       Remember when Michael Savage was banned in Britain for his “rhetoric”? Glenn Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, et al. said NOTHING about it. I remember a caller in to Glenn‘s show asking why he wasn’t talking about this attack on Dr. Savage’s free speech and Great Britain lumping him in with murderers on their banned list. Glenn‘s response was that this wasn’t an American issue and since it was in a foreign country he didn’t feel it was worthy of attention. Now his website apparently thinks what goes on in a foreign country is worthy of attention now that it doesn’t involve one of his competitors and a guy who has been frozen out of the conservative media. Of course, this is just his website, so his radio/tv shows and his website are two different things, but I wonder if he has been talking about this on the radio, too. I don’t listen to him much anymore, but I suspect he has talked about this and was quite indignant about it.

      Just in case anyone thought Canada was doing better than the USA now, this type of thing proves otherwise. Canada’s rights are given by government and NOT defended by the populous.
      I like it when my children draw good pictures of guns. It brings out art and cognative thought exercise at the same time.

      The good thing about this story and i’m glad that The Blaze pointed it out,is there is now a new channel in Canada to help get this kind of info out to the people…..The Sun News Network has been on the air for about a year now and it takes on the leftwing media big time….anyone who doesnt have access to this channel should atleast check out their website from time to time…They concentrate alot of the things in the world conservatives find important.

      A glimpse into America’s future. The teachers and the police were so obsessed over the EVIL gun that they completely overlooked the mental, emotional welfare of that little girl. Liberals hate guns so much that they were willing to tramatize a little girl just to get at that evil gun. This little girl and her siblings had to undergo interrogation by the thought police and watch their Daddy being arrested. Liberals could care less about those children, what they care about is anyone being able to think and provide for themselves. In the Liberal utopia people are carbon emitting life forms that must be controlled. Unborn babies are even worse. Any carbon emitting life form that refuses to be controlled must be dealt with swiftly, including 4 year old little girls. Think about this, if that had been a real gun Daddy would be in prison for a very long time and his little girl would be placed in a foster home where she would be taught about evil guns, man caused global warming, gay sex and peaceful Islam.       When English Parliement discussed Glenn Beck and accused him of doing much the same thing Michael Savage was accused of doing…. I never heard Glenn Beck say one thing about it… Although recordings of discussion made their way to Media Matters and Huffington Post…

      I never understood why he didn’t attempt to defend himself… it was obvious that the parliment was only going by clips that were taken out of context of what he was really showing… The kind of clips Media Matters is known for producing…

      You know first they come for Savage, and no one was there to defend him… Glenn Beck may very well be the next, and he may not have anyone to defend him either… I really don’t understand the extreme competition the talk show hosts have against each other (even going as far to insult each other)… When they should be on the same side on many of these issues…

      Guilty without benefit of a trial. This is beginning to happen in this country. Think about it. You send your child to school with a lunch that someone deems isn‘t healthy so a lunch that IS NOT healthy is provided in it’s place. Our children are taught in school to report a parent if the child has been “spanked” so we raise a generation of children that have no fear and these same “undisciplined” children grow up killing others. I don’t know about anyone else, but I received numerous spankings for doing exactly what I had been asked not to do and about 99.9% of those I deserved. My Mother raised two daughters on her own and we are both law-abiding citizens. Neither of use believe the government owes us anything. When I was a teenage, the healthy fear I had of my Mom and her potential punishment, stopped me from doing a lot of things that would have landed me in jail. Just saying…of course, I’m 60 so what the hell would I know.

Conservative radio talk show hosts that I listen to rarely, if ever, mention other radio talk show hosts’ names during their own shows. It’s almost laughable. Equally laughable is how each of them always says something like, “I was the first to talk about this” or “You heard about this first on my show,” etc. Then they treat their listening audience like Obama treats voters – like they’re stupid. How? The talk show hosts says that he/she never listens to other talk shows, so doesn‘t know what is or isn’t being said by other talk show hosts. Talk show hosts DO know what is being said on other talk shows. Just like the President and all other politicians, radio talk show hosts have people on staff assigned to read and listen to other shows/programs to keep the boss apprised!

      And since we’re discussing things talk show hosts do or say that are irritating, how about Hannity saying “Coming up next ___” every single time he takes a break, even though what he says is coming up next, is NOT coming up until the last hour or half hour of his show. If ever there was an example of quintessential false advertising, this incredibly irritating habit of Hannity takes first place!

      The entire nation is in a fog while the ******** are destroying the country. From education, whether it be kindergarten through 12 or the universities and colleges, children services, the media, the frigging government, including our elected officials, the bureaucracies, agencies, and cabinet levels, are all organized, programed, and indoctrinated to carry the torch for liberal agenda, which is designed to expose, castigate and destroy any remaining vestiges of conservative values, including the traditional family, the Constitution, freedom, liberties, personalty and individualism, and the Judeo-Christian value system.

      They have said to that little girl that it isn’t your Daddy who is in control it is use the all superpowerful and all knowing state who can swoop down on you for a though, a gesture, a picture, a word and even a symbol.

      You want to hide from the state? Put a “coexist” bumper sticker on your car. Right next to it put a Peace sign and a No more Wars sticker. You’ll be off the radar in a heart beat. We are coming to a place where going underground may be the best solution. We aren’t there yet and the battle still rages, but a day will come when this will be true.       Fortunately, there’s more windshield time here then the average worker bee, so the AM is on a minimum of 8 hours a day.

      Phoned 970 WFLA once and complained about interrupting the talkies for hockey games, but to no avail.

      Will be reading Mark’s new book, Ameritopia on top of 8 hours of AM blab starting mid week.

      @DRSAVAGE24 Ah yes, and the truth shall set you free. I think there is more to what you claim but you don’t see it because your more of a troll than a fan of any one of these people. None of these guys Glenn Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity and Mark Levin seem to mention any of them when talking during their shows. Hannity does talk about Rush from time to time and Hannity and Mark Levin, which I like both are best buds it seems. Mark has never said anything good about Glenn. I haven’t heard one word from Mark unless I missed a show. Mark does like to use some of Glenn’s news hes reported. Same goes for Savage. He and like the others really don’t support each other because of their own view of things. So it could very well be that Glenn doesn’t give a poop about him and what he did stupidly over seas.

      And because this is a new site I am sure Glenn doesn’t micro manage it. So to point a finger at Glenn because something wasn’t posted that you felt deserved posting shows your ignorance and your trolling experience. Plus the fact you said you never hardly watch or listen to his shows. You just happen to watch the very one you cared so much about concerning your heart throb, Savage as indicated in your name.

      Holy cow. I 35 years ago remember growing up with guns all over the house, every one of them loaded and in easy reach. We brought hunting guns to school and kept them in the car for hunting after school. Teachers would come out at lunch and admire the guns and show us theirs. No one ever got shot. How far down the road to government serfdom we’ve fallen.

When they say the word “next” they don’t mean it “adjective”, they mean it as an “adverb” which means {On the first or soonest occasion after the present; immediately afterward: “wondering what would happen next”}.       I grew up in a different age. In school, even in my art class, I drew revolvers and lever rifles with great detail. Like everyone else, on my 12′th birthday I got a bolt-action 22. As I recall, even though it was a rough steel-town neighborhood, no one locked their doors or their cars. My first (non junker) car was a 63 Buick that had an ignition you could start without a key. Lunch in my steel lunch-box was usually a pb-and-j on wonder bread. I walked just under a mile to Jr. High and took the bus alone at 10 years old, to go to the movies alone in the big city.

      I at first thought of NY City or DC, Phillie, Chicago – not Canada. I knew the folks up there were liberals but not off the chart. This man feels his name is slandered, well he should sue and the school should fire the teacher. If this wern’t a 4 year old or had been a 9 year oil I could have understood where they were coming from. The local police must have to many officers. Thank goodness the little 4 yr old didn’t draw a bomb – I guess they would have called in the milatary.

      Not knowing the law in Canada, I’ll assume that no one is allowed to legally own a gun, else it wouldn‘t make any sense for any strip search and search of this man’s house. Even so, to allow a picture drawn by a 4-year old to be the basis of violating this father is totally insane. The worse part of the story for me is to read that ‘the school, police and child welfare officials all stand by their actions’. How dare they?!? Each and every one of them that participated should face some sort of disciplinary action, up to and possibly including firing.

      I hope you Americans cherish and protect your constitution. We Canadians do not share in its protection. Our charter or rights and freedoms gives privileges, not rights. It also points out reasons for which charter rights may be infringed upon. In short, Canadians are not free. Depending on political climate we can be drawn up before human rights tribunals for speaking our mind if it causes someone offense.

      This story demonstrates the plight of Canadians well though. We have an out of control police force. Once upon a time, the police was our friend. Items like the firearms act and years of liberal conditioning in the RCMP though have driving a wedge between the police and the citizen. Now innocent or guilty, the police is to be feared and never to be freely let into your home. In the case of a burglar, you are better (as a former Albertan premier said) to “shoot, shovel, and shut up” than get the police involved.

      Cherish and defend your liberties. The majority of the world in truth, has none.

      Haven’t paid much attention to the American news in the last few years have you? We’ve had kids taken out of class in handcuffs for drawing pictures of guns, for pointing a finger gun at recess, for cutting a gun from a sheet of paper. And from somewhere, a child actually got hold of old fashioned clothes pins, and made a “clothes pin” gun. Alas, my life was warped from the start, my older sibs taught me to make those things before I was 2.
      To late to close the border, that guy must have already broken into my house, when my husband’s lift chair was raised over the weekend, I discovered one of those soft foam darts, must have come from his gun, my grandkids haven’t had theirs here for nearly a month.
      Wonder what scared those kids, couldn‘t be that they were all questioned about sister’s drawing, their dad taken out in a police car, and them all taken away from both parents to go answer questions? “Nope!” That’d NEVER scare a little kid!”

      I’m glad that I grew where, and when I did. I taught my daughter to fire a handgun, at age seven.
      I don’t ever remember living in a house without a gun, or guns. My friends and family hunted. I only went out once. The rabbit got away. I didn’t know, at that time that I had to **** my shotgun before it would fire. I was relieved that the rabbit got away.
      When I grew up in the 40′s, 50′s, in NC, there were guns in the corner of the bedroom, or kitchen. There was always a rifle, on a rack, above the exit door. I don’t know of anyone that I grew up with being accidentally shot and killed. My friend Vance did blow his big toe off, riding back from a hunting trip with the loaded shotgun resting on his foot.

      Close the border to Canada??That’s a lame idea,they are our neighbor and have stood with us thru wars,etc. I happen to live 6 mi from the border,and do a lot of shopping there.(Some of their products are better then ours and cheaper’).Nowdays theres a lot of US products on their shelves,which helps our economy. They are buying 2nd homes in my little town,which is keeping us alive. Are their things I don’t like about Canada,you bet. #1 is their GUN CONTROL’ I have Kids,Grandkids living there,and would like to leave them family guns.It would be a big hassle for me and them,and who knows if the Govt.would end up with them. I’ll have to forget leaving them to family there.

      I grew up on the Canadian border and considered Canadians as friends but they have become the enemy of freedom and we do need to close the border. Look for Canadian influence on March 18th at the Chicago G8 meeting. This could easily become the catalyst of the Nation of Islam uprising and an attempt on President Obama’s life as Farrahkan predicted. IF more Americans looked at the socialist Government system in Canada (gov run health care, welfare, pension, etc.) they would have a greater understanding of why they should oppose it. Many of Canada’s failures are a glimpse into your not so distant future if progressives keep getting elected..

      I was stationed at Ft Drum, NY many years ago, and used to drive into Canada often spending most of my time in Ontario and some in Quebec. Really enjoyed it there, saw some great sights while enjoying the food. I met and worked with some Canadians on my previous tour in Germany and really had a great time getting to know them. That being said, I look upon this incident as an individual incident of an over reaction and not the norm. Of course the laws are different there and there is no 2nd Amendment for protection of gun owners. We have these types of over reactions popping up here too. At least for now, they are not the norm…yet! Except in the far left state, California, as well NY, parts of Illinois and a few other places. Back to this incident. I would imagine that this 4 year old girl has blended her imagination into what she watches on TV with her father to be the hero in her drawings. Hope this incident becomes a real embarrassment for not only that local police department, but the school’s faculty, and child welfare services. Hope the father has the recourse to sue as well. He really should if he can.

    I would like to add Canadians banned all gun, and supposedly removed every gun from Canadian Society in 1995..Clinton went after guns around this same time–only he didn’t get anywhere near Gun control as in Canada; however, our wonderful Sec of State–Billary–is busily signing legislation in the UN to have ALL small arms removed from the entire WOrld–already signed circa 2012 Feb..by the wonderful Hillary.. Now, the real problem is two-fold..where to start? and how to do it without getting killed? If our Supreme leader_oDuma_ can get the shred the Constitution(look out)..the UN is on the Way! Then, like I said before..the problem will be getting the guns without getting killed or doing a the massacre of men, women, and children.. US citizens have always been problematic–I believe we may have the most guns..I think I read recently how OBlo-umo was the greatest gun salesman EVER!!!!

      The problem is, I doubt they will take our guns in one fail-swoop. That’s not how they typically work here in America. They’ll start small and quiet, using the new laws as justification — going after situations/people that even most of us would agree to… except they’ll use the new laws as their new legal basis. After we get used to that, they’ll widen their arc, going after situations/people that are more questionable to us — but not so much to the mainstream americans that aren‘t paying very much attention and themselves aren’t necessarily big 2A supporters — using the fact that the law held in previous cases as justification it should hold in these. Once they get the mainstreamers to go along with this (against our complaints), THEN they’ll start coming after us, slowly. They’ll pull Ruby Ridge style tactics and make us look like weirdos to the general public. And then the full hammer will come down. It’ll still be a bloody fight, I’m sure — but by then we won’t have the average american on our side. Winning in November might buy us some time, but I’m not sure it will reverse things enough.

      The only way to win (IMO)??? We need to decide to collectivate in one or a handful of states, take political control of that area, and demand the return of original federalism — at threat of civil war. We don’t do that, we lose (ultimately).

      Canadians did not ban all guns in 1995….. Our Liberal Government (equivalent to your Democrat Government) created a registry, following the creation of that registry over a period of time they classified various guns as “undesirable’ and slowly classified them as prohibited… making the illegal to own in Canada. They mainly went after hand guns and now you need a restricted license to own one, and cannot carry it anywhere except from your home, to the shooting range, and back… ammo and gun must be stored under lock and key in the home making them useless in a home defense situation. The Canadians just recently elected a conservative Gov who ran their entire election on scrapping the gun registry…. We gave them a majority government, they voted to scrap it… but it still has not been scrapped….. Quebec (our mini france) wants to keep the registry info for themselves. meaning all it will take is a new liberal government to get elected and we will be back to square one…. PS…. Even though we have elected a majority gov to sscrap the registry… the UNELECTED senate can choose to keep it… regardless of what our elected officials say…. that is where we are at now.

You see, regardless of what our elected officials decide, the Queens Appointee has authority to trump them. When our constitution was drafted, unlike your form of republicanism, our founders opted for a form of Federalism…. they believed the Monarch would serve as a bullwark against any attacks on this “federalism”.. throughout our history you see republicans like your founders pop up… and they get executed for high treason….     I’m glad I grew up when I did. From the time I was born I have lived in a home with guns. I didn’t think there was anything unusual with that as there were guns in many of my friends homes. As a boy my friends and I drew pictures of every kind of weapon imaginable, knives, guns, tanks, and even atomic bombs. We drew them in art class or as doodles when bored in class. Teachers never questioned whether we had those things at home and police never showed up. We even played with toy guns and pretended to shoot each other with real looking arms. Adults didn’t seem concerned and cops paid no attention at all. We had a lot of fun and not one of us grew up to misuse real firearms. Imagine that!

      I grew up during that time too. Cops and Robbers; Cowboys and Indians; Soldier. Me and my brother knew where the guns were. We knew dad kept the bullets in a special drawer. We knew where the key to the drawer was and we would often unlock the drawer and LOOK at the bullets. We’d pull the gun out (probably loaded) and LOOK at it. We never, EVER actually TOUCHED them. There was never a gun accident in our home and we grew up unafraid of guns.

    Canadians banned all gun, and supposedly removed every gun from Canadian Society in 1995..Clinton went after guns around this same time–only he didn’t get anywhere near Gun control as in Canada; however, our wonderful Sec of State–Billary–is busily signing legislation in the UN to have ALL small arms removed from the entire WOrld–already signed circa 2012 Feb..by the wonderful Hillary.. Now, the real problem is two-fold..where to start? and how to do it without getting killed? If our Supreme leader_oDuma_ can get the shred the Constitution(look out)..the UN is on the Way! Then, like I said before..the problem will be getting the guns without getting killed or doing a the massacre of men, women, and children.. US citizens have always been problematic–I believe we may have the most guns..I think I read recently how OBlo-umo was the greatest gun salesman EVER!!!!

      It would be one thing if a law was broken, but it isn’t illegal to own a gun, or to have one in your house, so what law did they arrest him under, well that explains why he didn‘t know and wasn’t told what he was under arrest for. The cops had nothing on him, but some how the CPS has authority over all now.       I prefer a peaceful Ron Paul Revolution myself. There isn’t a more distinct choice this time around regarding second amendment rights. Newt said he would stand up for the 2nd, but was speaker when the Brady Bill passed and even voted for it. Romney’s on record saying his state had tough gun laws and he supports them, and Santorum voted against the 2nd amendment to protect it. Which doesn’t make a lick of sense to anyone smarter than a box of rocks.

    What an an absolutley absurd story. I can’t believe this actually happened. Sure the drawings may warrent an additional conversation with the parents but arresting the man, strip searching him, bringing his pregnant wife in for further questioning. I surprised they didn’t break out the rubber hoses while they were at it. I’m not going to cast aspersions on Canada since our country is rapidly falling apart because of the socialist mantra.

Those in DC from both parties have been destroying our Constitution for a long time. This did not start under Obama although Obama has put everything on an accelerated course and to be honest I am glad he did because it is forcing people who have had their heads in the sand to wake and acknowledge that the destruction of America as it was intended to be has been underway!
