If whether you’re an Android or iPhone user can tell you something about your political beliefs and priorities, surely party lines can be drawn based on television show preference too. In an annual research survey by Experian-Simmons, prepared for Entertainment Weekly, the preferred television shows were measured by those ”watched by the highest concentration of self-identified liberal Democrats and conservative Republicans.”
Here are the prime-time shows preferred by those listing themselves as conservative-republicans:
Swamp Loggers (Discovery) and Top Shot (History):
- The Bachelor (ABC)
- Castle (ABC)
- Mythbusters (Discovery)
- Only in America With Larry the Cable Guy, American Pickers, Pawn Stars, Swamp People (History)
- The Middle (ABC)
- The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (NBC)
- The Biggest Loser (NBC)
- Hawaii Five-O, NCIS, The Mentalist (CBS)
Here’s the liberal-democrat prime-time favorites list:
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report (Comedy Central)
- 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation (NBC)
- The View (ABC)
- Glee (Fox)
- Modern Family (ABC)
- It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FX)
- Treme (HBO)
- Cougar Town (ABC)
- The Late Show With David Letterman and The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson(CBS)
Those that were least favored among conservatives included “Weeds,“ ”The Daily Show with Jon Stewart“ and ”The Colbert Report” — though it is noted that Stewart ranks higher in terms of dislike compared to Colbert — and “The Jersey Shore.“ The ones most disliked by democrats included ”Swamp Loggers,“ ”Dog the Bounty Hunter,“ ”COPS“ and ”CSI Miami.”
Entertainment Weekly describes liberals enjoying shows that are “sarcastic media-savvy comedies“ and those with ”morally murky antiheroes”, while conservatives aline themselves more with “serious work-centered shows”.
But what of the libertarians? Reason points out that the preferences of libertarians go unanswered, also stating that most shows with a libertarian character are gone.
Find a complete list of liked and disliked shows among both parties here.

He is on my list of no watch sort of like no fly list, here is a few more, Susan serandon, shawn penn, any of the ****** brothers baldwin, mikchael moore, matt damon, clooney, brad pitt, samuel l jackson, danny glover, morgon freeman, and the list goes on. Come on! The writer wants to portray conservatives as red necks.
Who did this survey, and who did they ask?

Funny how that works.
Michael Landon was not a staunch conservative, but his show “Little House on the Prairie” was most likely the most conservative and christian based television show ever produced. There is nothing on TV today that is even remotely close.

Regarding Hawaii Five O, I will never allow that show to be turned on in this house ever. Frankly, I’ve never watched it, but after learning this morning what they did to WWII vets and Pearl survivors when there was an apparent glitch with the Parks Service that had an annual vets ceremony and the show’s filming of an episode in the cemetery. The cast and crew were disrespectful to the graves, and were pushy and down right rude to the ceremony personnel trying to get them to hurry up because they were filming. Never watched the show, and definitely never, ever will.

Posted on December 12, 2011 at 7:00pmI think that depends on how you define “red neck.” Does that mean a bigoted county boy or someone who works hard in the sun and doesn’t have a lot of time to go to the tanning bed or lay out in the sun. If the latter, then I would guess most conservative would be “red necks.” Working hard and clinging to our guns and Bible thing.

Once a program promotes the progressive agenda, I am done with them. So what if some are Rednecks? I think all of us have a little redneck in us or we wouldn’t make some of the comments that are posted here on the Blaze. Seriously, programs that show the other side of our society that lives a more simple but hard working side is refreshing at times.Suvivior, Housewives of where ever, the Bachler& bachlerette, the view, the talk, Ophra’s channel OWN, Letterman, Leno, Rosie, Ellen, and most dramas and comedies are to progressive . My list of non-sports TV that is commonly watched in my house:
Modern Marvels
American Pickers
Pawn Stars
Dirty Jobs
Mythbusters
Extreme Engineering
The Epic History of Everyday things
How things are made
Real Deal
Brad Metzler’s Decoded
Battle 360
Ice Road Truckers
