Dallas Cop Reassigned to Graveyard Shift After Chick-fil-A Argument With 2 Lesbian Officers

A Dallas Police Sergent arrived at work last Wednesday with a seemingly innocent chicken sandwich. But this wasn’t any ordinary chicken sandwich. It was a chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A — on “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” no less.

As the Sergent arrived at his post at the Southeast patrol sector, he got in a heated exchange with two female police officers, both of whom happened to be lesbians, CBS DFW reports.

The fast food chain has become a symbol for free speech to some, and a symbol for “hate” to others, after restaurant President Dan Cathy decided to publicly back traditional marriage last month.

(RELATED: ‘Choke to Death on That LGBT Hating Chicken’: See How the Left Is Reaction to ‘Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day’)

It‘s unclear who initiated the confrontation but that’s what police say they hope to find out after conducting an internal investigation. A department spokesperson told CBS DFW  that the issue is not that the sergeant brought a Chick-fil-A sandwich into the substation, but rather whether he made inappropriate or offensive comments while arguing with the two female officers while on duty.

He has since been assigned to the graveyard shift — before the investigation has been conducted.

More from CBS DFW:

The Dallas Police Association, who represents all three of the officers, say they are getting two versions of the story, and while they are neutral on the issue, the association is frustrated by a move made by the department before the investigation was complete.

The DPA points out the two female officers happen to be homosexuals. They also point out that the sergeant was responsible for reading the evening bulletins to all officers in the Southeast patrol that evening, including information on possible crowd control issues at Chick-Fil-A’s in the area.

The association says what concerns them most is that before the internal investigation into the matter was resolved the sergeant was moved to a midnight shift at the Lew Sterret Justice Center, which the association views as punishment.

The association also views the move as the department taking a stance on the issue before the full internal investigation was complete.

The Dallas Police Association says it is pushing for mediation in the incident between all three officers, but as of this point, that has not occurred.

The whole thing has become so STUPID–the whole ISSUE about eating Chick-Fil-A or not. It‘s not anyone else’s business and it CERTAINLY was NOT the business of this man’s two co-workers.

My guess is he came in with the Chick-Fil-A bag and they began the comments–just a guess, maybe I’m wrong.. but that’s my guess. They may have angered him (which IMO would also be understandable) and he may have said some things perhaps he should not–but to punish him for it at all let alone punish him before all the facts come out?

    DUMB! LOL

I got the skinny on what happened:

One ***** asked him, “How could you go to Chick-fil-A when you know you work with us?”

He responded by taking his partly eaten sandwich, waving it in her face, and saying, “Eat more chicken!” (Get it?)

Which, of course, the lesbos selectively considered a slam; hence the punishment.

En lieu of all the queer controversy I say Chick-fil-A should change their motto to:

“Eat mor chikin’ – less sawsige!”

My 10 year old noticed there was a parade of rainbow flag waving people on a main thoroughfare in our community (nowhere near the chick-fil-a) yesterday afternoon. I explained as benignly as I could who they were and what they were likely doing.

He was HORRIFIED!!!!!! Even a ten year old can sense how unnatural this behavior is.

He told them, No, he did not believe that it is a Constitutional Right. He got a much better job and he still believes the save thing.

The Sergent made a political statement by bringing in Chick-Fill-A on that day. The other officers recognized the statement, and responded with their own opinions, at which point the Sergent replied with something that got his put on the graveyard shift.

But you believe they had no right to voice their own beliefs, because it was “not their business,” which is the typical cowardice social conservatives display to opposing opinions. Or voting, for that matter.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the male officer arrived with his lunch and casually remarked about the unusually brisk business at Chick-fil-A, completely unaware of the situation. “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” wasn’t a company promotion. It was a grass roots event which wasn’t advertised by the msm before it took place. However, the female officers, having been identified as gay, were more than likely fully aware of the protest given the background behind the “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” .
Typical leftist/progressive tactic to turn the situation on it’s head – never let a crisis go to waste.

All three should be suspended without pay for 90 days for 1st offense — he, for knowingly and intentionally instigating and provoking the situation, the two females involved for ‘acting’ on the provocation. — End of story. Zero tolerance for ANY of it from either side. Union or not — there is still a duty to AVOID even the slightest APPEARANCE of what ‘could’ be construed as a conflict of interest… its a tough job for them — this incident IMHO serves but to further erode an already credibility-challenged ‘law enforcement’ “collective.” — Those serving in the best interest of our communities, thumbs up. According to the article, it’s unclear who started the argument. If it was the women, I agree, they should be punished. If it was the man, he should be punished.

I could easily see someone coming back from work, bragging in front of two known lesbians about how great it was to see people at National Chick-fil-A day. That’s not a class act at all. I’d feel the same way if the two women came back a few days later and started saying how great it was to be able to kiss their partners at Chick-fil-A during their National Kiss-a-Chick (or whatever it was called) event.

He should not be punished before the internal investigation is concluded. Or they all should have been moved to somewhere else or another shift. Not just him.

In the state where I work, years ago a high ranking state official was accused of sexual harrassment by an employee. They fired him right away. When the case went to court he was found not guilty. And the state had to pay him back pay because they should not have fired him.

    This is sortof the same.
