David Barton Reveals the Sly Move Harry Reid Pulled to Stand Against Conscience Protection Amendment

David Barton Explains Harry Reids Move Against Conscience Protection AmendmentDuring Glenn Beck’s radio broadcast Thursday, David Barton spoke with Pat and Stu about the recent string of attacks on religious freedom perpetuated by the Obama administration. Barton discussed Harry Reid’s tactics to keep the Blunt Conscience Protection Amendment out of the latest legislation, and even made note of the impact Beck fans have had in helping push back these attacks on faith.

According to Barton, the phones on Capitol Hill were “lit up” after Beck launched his “We are all Catholics now” movement on Wednesday, which asked people of all faiths to call their senators and encourage them to vote for the Blunt Conscience Protection Amendment to the transportation bill. That amendment would protect consciousness objectors from being forced to take part in aspects of Obamacare.

In fact, the movement worked so well it forced Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to take a different “tactic.”

In short, Harry Reid was able to remove the amendment from the bill so that the senators couldn’t vote on it. How? In a very sly way: since you can’t take specific amendments out of bills in the Senate, Reid jammed the bill full of so many other amendments that the Blunt amendment didn’t “fit,” so to speak.

“He just filled it up with anything he could think of,” Barton explained. “He’s basically taken over all the time, and what it means as a result is that they’re going to have a cloture vote on all of his amendments that have come up … and if they can get 60 votes on Friday then it’s not going to happen, they‘ve killed Blunt’s amendment.”

“I don’t think they can get 60 votes,” Barton added, “… which probably means after Friday, Reid’s plan will go down.”

Watch the interview below:

Barton, who is the Founder and President of WallBuilders – described as  a “national pro-family organization that presents America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on our moral, religious and constitutional heritage” — said that conservatives are actually gaining ground in this fight and thus, cannot give up.

According to its site, WallBuilders took its name from the Old Testament writings of Nehemiah, “who led a grassroots movement to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and restore its strength and honor.”

Pay no attention to that dope. Harry Reid has come up on Glenn‘s show as often as he’s done something Conservatives don’t like. He’s just been taking a bit of a back seat lately because
      1. he hasn‘t done much that’s bee that outrageous (because it’s an election year and he knows his hard Left stance will hurt Senators up for reelection), and
      2. the Senate is frankly not very important at the moment because nothing they do will pass the House.

That said, Reid is pretty high up there in douchiness, behind only Obama, DWS, and Pelosi, by my reckoning.

He has fallen from his teachings.. and in the end it will not bose well for him. He is a part of the secret combinations that the Book of Mormon teaches us. The Book of Mormon is a Testament for our times… Harry has gone to the dark side and will be judged acoordingly. Just like you for judging Glenn or the Mormon faith. We all will be judged. But for you to make such a remark about Glenn not doing his job is asinine. Glenn is a remarkable man, has taught me more about our heritage than any teacher, has opened my eyes to the truth. You need to grow up and stop bashing others and their faith and job. God forgive you! P.S. David Barton and Glenn Beck are very good friends.. but you aren’t smart enough to know that!

You seemed surprised that someone of one faith would not attack someone of the same faith. President Obama never attacks secular progressive, liberal, hard-core-left-wingers, social justice, socialist/communists, because they all worship the same ideology. As far as Newt goes, he kind of showed his true colors several weeks back and went off the rails. He got angry and made an ass of himself. Conservative or not his behavior was less than professional and his “attack the media” strategy has lost steam and few people care anymore about his candidacy.

It is amazing to see the absolute stupidity of the left, including the stupidity of some that are on the right. The left loves to think of themselves with being the most intelligent in a room of people because they are the privilege and know better than anyone else.

In logic there is a thing called “rreductio ad absurdum ,“ which is Latin for ”reduction to the absurd.“ What this means is when an argument or position logically reaches an ”absurd conclusion”, then the argument or position is false.

For example, the left and the democrat party’s position on taxes is “raising taxes always results in increased tax revenue.” By the same token, the right argues, especially Ron Paul, that” if taxes were lowered to 0%, then it results in increased tax revenue.”

By using the logic of “reductio ad absurdum” in left’s position of taxes, “if taxes were raised to 100% of income, people would lose all incentive to work, companies would cease to operate and eventually not exit, resulting in zero income, thus zero tax. This is less than the current tax income, thus, the proposition of the left is false.”

But by using the logic of “reductio ad absurdum” in the right’s position on taxes, “if taxes were lowered to 0%, no taxes at all would be collected. Zero will always be less revenue than even the lowest that non-zero tax rate would produce, thus the proposition is false.”

However, the left is far dumber and moronic than anyone else.

And there is this thing in logic called “get your facts straight”. I think the Latin is “Tu Stultus Es”. Paul advocates a zero percent INCOME tax rate. Up until 1913 the federal government did not tax citizen’s income. The 16th amendment changed that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xME5-G2CprA

Apparently MBN, you just proved my point of the absurd because you certainly are a dumb ass by not reading my argument which has nothing to do with the 16th amendment. My argument has everything to do with the position of the left and right on how government generates revenue.

You certainly have shown your stupidity by arguing the absurd and you sir are the dumbest of dumb asses that I have seen.

First of all the “Right” wants to LOWER taxes not eliminate them.. However, Ron Paul is correct. Zero income tax rate. See this would then put the power to the people back to the states. We could then eliminate most of the Dept of’s…. Corp Tax would still be in effect to pay for the one and only thing we should get from the Fed Gov.. DEFENSE. The rest of the “services” would be handled on the state and county level. But this will never happen because the left wants to raise ALL income taxes to pay for entitlements. Along with a lot of folks on the Right. In the end we LOSE!!

THIS is why I strongly suggest the Conservative Republicans have an
immediate response team to Obama’s “TRUTH TEAM” –
They can call it “ THE REAL TRUTH”, or whatever, as long as they PUSH BACK
    WITH THE FACTS & TRUTH!

Obama and this administration daily rush before the cameras to announce the
REPUBLICANS are hindering/preventing Obama’s plan for the country or other
negative info about them – when it is THEM and their deceitful tactics.

Daily reporting of things like the number of Republician Proposals/Solutions
submitted to Obama and were REJECT and what, why and how the Dems
stalled, prevented and tactics used to avoid. – the number of DAYS Obama
has not submitted a Budget, and much, much more.

This should be done in conjunction with the occasional appearances made by
one or two Reps. before the cameras, on specific current issues, i.e. Fast & Furious-
instead, they should hold daily segments on TV/RADIO pointing out these facts, in detail.

The Reps. should STOP REACTING to all the false statements made by Obama
and others but START FOCUSING and bringing attention to the DAILY under-handed
issues & tactics used by this administration.

They could call it a DAILY PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT or something!
Yeah, I KNOW, the NEWS REPORTS IT- but that’s about it.
They make light of it – in between acting silly.

HOPE & GLOCK: what? Are you Tiffany Gabbay’s Mom?

I am with SHOCK. Are we reading news or are we reading a middle school term paper? If blatant typos are slipping past the editor then what else is?

Yeah, so you get ‘the gist’ of the article. Well, good for you. Is that all that a good article requires? Just hand out trophies to all the participants, eh?

I enjoy The Blaze and hope that this site can grow into a contender with the other sites out there. In order to be taken seriously, this site has to produce professional level work, not articles that you have to search for ‘the gist’ through obvious typos.

SHOCK pointed out this typo to sharpen Gabbay’s writing. Perhaps she will read his comment and try a little harder next time.

Let me ask you something why doesnt David Barton ever let anyone no all of their writings(I am not debating if we are a Judeao/CHRISTian Nation We Are As A People But Just As Israel Our Leaders Are Not) the fact Thomas Jefferson said “I could believe in JESUS if it wasnt for all the miracles” or the fact he went and wrote his own Bible called “ The Life And Morals Of JESUS Of Nazareth” where he went and removed all aspects of CHRIST Divinity he got rid of the virgin birth any reference to HIM being the SON of GOD all the miracles and demon outcasting HE did Jefferson took it all out, another thing when they were designing the capitol building and held a contest there were 8 or 9 architects in competition but Jefferson turned them all down for and I quote (this is in the library of congress)“These Designs Are Unacceptable The Capitol Needs To Resemble The Pantheon Dedicated To All pagan gods” you think David Barton doesnt know about that Yeah Right. Or look up in the rotundrum at the capitol the apotheosis of George Washington where it is supposed to be HEAVEN but suprisingly not one Prophet not one Apostle no JESUS CHRIST anywhere but almost every pagan god you can think of and our founders taking notes from them and frolecking about with them with 72 pentagrams surrounding it.AS MUCH AS IT HURTS ME TO SAY IT, ALOT OF OUR FOUNDERS WERE WEIRD PAGANS, CHECK OUT “THE HIDDEN FAITH OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS 2010” CAUTION YOU WILL BE ABSOLUTEY SHOCKED SADDENED AND DISGUSTED..

The vitriol directed at David Barton suggests you have been educated in secular/progressive schools.
That art you mention with the pagan gods -was a product of the late 1800′s @1885 I believe. And If you check the Reports of Committees for 19 Jan.1853 US Senate Judiciary Committee report by Mr.Badger and the corresponding US House Judiciary Committee Report by Mr. Meacham 27 March 1854 both discussing chaplains–and the establishment of religion. Both of which David Barton has cited in his works. David Barton is human -just like everyone else– but I think if you checked History you would be hard pressed to find where Jefferson ever called his Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth a Bible. –or his Bible. That speculation was added after his death, by mere politicians. I believe it was Barton that pointed out that Jefferson intended his Life and Morals book to be an introduction to Christianity to be used to introduce Christianity to the Native tribes that Jefferson believed would have trouble accepting the Miracles. I dare suggest I do not believe Jefferson was as hostile toward Christianity as you seem to be. But you rage against David Barton has been considered and you come across like a braying Jack.

And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever; That a revolution of the wheel of fortune, a change of a situation, is among possible events; that it may become probable by Supernatural influence ! Yes, we need more men like David Barton. It amazes me that congresspeople such as Pelosi, Sebelius, Biden, McCaskill can actually say they are Catholic. Why don’t they just go to another church? Contraceptives are one thing but they just completely go against God and the religion that they profess is their faith. It simply cannot be their faith and they are liars pretending to care about their religion but agreeable to things that are not in their religion. It is sickening. Even though the issue with contraceptives is beyond religion and is really about freedom and the government mandating us I cannot help but look at these people and question their faith.

Derek Davis, director of the J.M. Dawson Institute on Church-State Studies at Baylor University, said Barton “can be very convincing to an uninitiated audience. He’s intelligent. He’s well-spoken. But a lot of what he presents is a distortion of the truth.”
John Fea, a history professor at Messiah College in Pennsylvania, has criticized Barton and Peter Marshall, who worked with Barton to influence Texas textbooks: “I’m an evangelical Christian, and I think David Barton and Peter Marshall are completely out to lunch. They are not experts on social studies and history. Neither of them are trained in history. They are preachers who use the past and history as a means of promoting a political agenda in the present.”
      J. Brent Walker, Executive Director of the Baptist Joint Committee, argues in a critique of Barton’s teachings on church-state issuesthat Barton’s work is “laced with exaggerations, half-truths and misstatements of fact. As more individuals, congregations and elected officials are influenced by Barton’s claims, the threat of his campaign becomes more real…”Baptist blogger Don Byrd said “having Barton lecture the House of Representatives on religious liberty issues and the Constitution is a bit like having the fox lecture the hens on proper coop construction.”

But my friend there is something very serious in this business. The Holy Ghost carries on the whole Christian system in this Earth. Not a baptism, not a marriage, not a Sacrament can be administered but by the Holy Ghost, who is transmitted from age to age by laying the hands of the Bishop on the heads of candidates for the Ministry. In the same manner as the Holy Ghost is transmitted from monarch to monarch by the holy oil in the vial at Rheims which was brought down from Heaven by a dove and by that other phial [vial] which I have seen in the Tower of London. There is no authority civil or religious: There can be no legitimate government but that which is administered by this Holy Ghost. There can be no salvation without it. All without it is rebellion and perdition, or in more orthodox words damnation. Although this is all artifice and cunning in the sacred original in the heart, yet they all believe it so sincerely that they would lay down their lives under the ax or the fiery ***** [bundle of wood used for burning individuals at the stake] for it. On April 30, 1789, this country was indeed consecrated to God and the Holy Ghost in a 2 hour ceremony at St. Paul’s Chapel, in New York City. This event occurred on the day of Washington‘s inauguration as our country’s first president. Present at the ceremony, were Washington and the entire United States Congress.
It is important to note, the only other country, in the history of the world, to consecrate its government to God is…………Israel. Yes enimacom, I know these facts are going to make you twist and squirm. But as a nation, we are married to God and the holy Ghost. Read the pointless Blog. Like a good conservative group its attempting to polish the turd, that the GOP have become. The blog is one lie after another, polls show support for birth control, even among Catholics. Nor is the issue religious freedom, its about women’s health. This Federal mandate is following the lead of several states and the EEOC.

No, its the GOP that is avoiding the Constitutional debates, its the GOP that is acting in bad faith. If the recess appoints were unconstitutional where is Congress’ response? This blog avoids the truth, that nearly every appointment made by the President has been met with a filerbuster by the GOP. The Democrates need a Super Majority, not the simple majority they hold. Dishonesty is becoming a trait of the conservative christians.

As for the actual hstorian, the fact that he holds real degrees, from actual univeristies, not conservative scam shops Barton attended, the fact that he is published and the general opinion of his scholarship among his peers. Barton’s “theories” carry no weight outside of the fringe religious right and the tea party. More and more it is becoming clear that conservative christians live in their own little reality, devoid of truth.

Wait til the ‘American people’ see what he is up too. When he says ‘American people’ he means those who support him.
On second thought, maybe patriots/opposition will be gone somehow either by lack of health care from death panels who will let the old die and conservatives die too. We know they have conservative hit lists. I have no doubt they will use those to decide who gets what treatment. And now the ‘truthteams” They will probably forward names of opposition so they can be ‘taken care of”.. Beware. This is coming to your community. So he has eyes and ears in every community in this country
The kids are being indoctrinated to make sure no new opposition arises. They are monitoring kids lunches at a very young age. These kids will grow up thinking being monitored is normal.
He is a good community organizer for sure. Unfortunately it is being organized to destroy this country.. which is his dream as a Muslim and his way of getting revenge for his father.
In the meantime he lives in luxury and pretends he helps everyone. Pretty soon the gubment won’t be getting the revenus it needs.. so they take more.. they can’t pay Medicare. so they can’t pay bottom feeders. people get hungry and need to fend for themselves.. French revolution revisited..
