Day 15: Egyptian Protests Draw Biggest Crowds Yet

Just one day after many media outlets declared that anti-government protests in Egypt were at a stalemate and running out of gas, hundreds of thousands of demonstrators flooded Cairo’s Tahrir Square and countless towns across Egypt on Tuesday, drawing the largest crowds since the popular revolt began .
The crowd’s resurgence comes as a cyberactivist and Google executive who helped kickstart the protest movement was released from government detention. Wael Ghonim has since emerged from his 12 days in detention as a hero among the Egyptian protesters:
According to AFP reports, many protesters carried symbols of internet social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter which have helped mobilize the movement.
“I like to call it the Facebook Revolution but after seeing the people right now, I would say this is the Egyptian people’s revolution. It’s amazing,” Ghonim said, after he was mobbed by supporters in the crowd. “Egyptians deserve a better life. Today one of those dreams has actually come true, which is actually putting all of us together and as one hand believing in something,” he said.
While larger crowds gather during the day to protest, several thousand remain Tahrir Square overnight, sleeping under plastic sheets and army tanks.
Tuesday‘s large protest also comes as the Mubarak government announced a committee to oversee constitutional changes ahead of the country’s upcoming elections.
“The president welcomed the national consensus, confirming we are on the right path to getting out of the current crisis,” Vice President Omar Suleiman said. “A clear road map has been put in place with a set timetable to realize a peaceful and organized transfer of power.
At least 300 people have been killed in the past two weeks in the often-violent protests.

Posted on February 9, 2011 at 11:12amThese people are fighting for a tangible freedom, freedom from an despot that we have propped up to keep us “safer” I do not wish slavery on any people simply so I can feel safe and get cheap stuff. I would give these people their democracy and behead that despot myself in their name. Freedom means choosing their own collective destiny and if that destiny includes hating me for being “western” which I don’t experience that most of these people do then so be it, when they come for me I will fight them for my freedom. I must say I pray that liberty overides tyranny in this fight and I hope they can marginalize their radical right but I will not accept the idea that we need to keep these people down so we can be free. I stand and choose not to be the enemy of any person who desires and is willing to die for liberty. At my house freedom rules and we have the firepower to protect it. I stand with the people of Tahrir Square and I love America, I watch as our government errodes our freedom, making stupid regulation after stupid regulation to choke the throat of commerce. We may have our own Tahrir in the future, I trust that our military will not fire on us either. This is a new world and alliances are not necessarily mad through heads of states, the people are making their own alliances, it is a new age for liberty and she is shaking off her tyrants, I wish her well. Amen.

Its War and violence, more human misery, starvation and unemployment. I didn’t realize how much their mindset is like that of many Americans. Maybe for just that area, or maybe it’ll spread abroad, but this is no ordinary revolution. Something isn‘t right here and we gotta keep informed to make sure this doesn’t turn into something extraordinarily disastrous.

That is most likely what the opposition is wanting to have happen; then they can respond with even more force while claiming to protect the Egyptian people. This is a war of nerves between two leaders who are seeking total control of Egypt. The balance is on a hair wire trigger, and the first one who will blink or flinch will then die.
It is the people of Egypt, like here in the USA, who will decide the final future of the nation.

Don’t you see? Those are all WESTERN concepts. Muslims don’t have the inner fire or the paradigm to seek our kind of freedom. Even when they move to America, many continue to live by the Qur’an.
Let me ask you this: Do you live by the principles/spirit of the Word of God? If the answer is yes, then you, unlike most secular folk, can understand the Muslim mindset somewhat better. We are who we are, unique, not because of the Constitution, but because of the God who inspired the men who wrote it. We take it for granted, believe it is a given for all nations, but that is not true. Therein lies the secret to American Exceptionalism.
Islam brings total bondage — spirit, soul and body. As in all totalitarian regimes, only the elite are allowed to think. However, unlike other political ideologies, Islamo-fascism’s driving force is religion, and that it is why they will conquer the world. How can woman and children fight against Allah? Why would men do it, when Allah grants them worldly and heavenly pleasures that exceed their expectations? Can you see why the Egyptian people — as well as most other Muslims — either will resign themselves to or eagerly embrace Islamism? It’s about GOD to them. Sure, Jesus can break the worst of strongholds, but in the Muslim world it will very likely cost you your life, if his Word ever reaches you. I don’t know if you are aware that Egypt falls within the 10/40 Window.
BTW, Snow, let’s see if we are able to get rid of Obama. We, too, may ultimately find ourselves helpless to stop that commie traitor from destroying America.

I live in East central Indiana, where there is nothing but corn and soybeans. The number of un-edible bio-fuel crops is so bad here that even corn in a garden is cross-pollonated with that genetically engineered crap, and what you pull from your own garden harvest is almost unfit to feed the hogs, let alone people.

Then may I suggest organising “what if” groups within your neighborhood so that you may be able to stand in the front lines if need be. You fear for the children, and it sounds like (could be wrong) that you have responsibility to no one other than yourself. Well, I’ll tell you this. You needn’t have gone to Parris Island boot camp to have the heart and will of a Marine, that just because you didn’t serve, doesn‘t mean you can’t when the time comes. If you came into my camp willing to kill, and to die, defending those who can’t for themselves, and have the heart of a Marine, then I would embrace you as Brother and see what you can do. Don’t worry for yourself, worry for those whom you have power to protect, keep them in your heart and fight as if they were your own. All of America is in peril now, and we can smell the rumors of war all around us. If you sit back and be complacent about it, then you are a coward who deserves to have his head laying on his livingroom floor. If you stand, and stand hard, against those who seek to control and usurp your sovereign status as a Man, then you stand in rightousness and more importantly, Virtue.
