I had planned to attend all events possible using my vacation time. Instead, I had to go through 4 weeks of basic training to become a certified correctional officer. Took my oath yesterday. Feeling a little guilty for not being there, but the pics are an inspiration that so many were willing and able to make it, and make a difference. Looking forward to tonight’s broadcast. Tks GB, and everyone involved. I can feel myself growing closer to GOD every day that goes by, and I’m sure it no coincidence. Love to all. Come on Nov. 2012.

I sure hope taht wasn’t lead based paint they were scraping. That home owner will be out 20-30K to have the guys in the monkey suits come out to “clean up” the property. God bless all those participating, just remember when you help others the gov doesn’t like it. Your stepping on their toes.

In my experience if that job were in Maryland the state lead people would have already stopped the job and moved the residence OUT and blocked the entire area off, Fines to follow

Can someone tell me just why the haters come on The Blaze and spew? Do they think they can distract us? Or do they think they can spew something we will buy into? My guess is they can’t find anything or anyone of their ilk to be proud of so they feel the need to spew hate for good. When anyone wastes their time responding it just gives them a voice..So when you see their sickness just remember the signs we see at parks or zoos Please don’t feed the animals. Tell me who else but Glenn could bring so many like minded God loving good hearted people together? Tell me one. Each and everyone of these people will go home and build on what they learned and felt…so haters you might what to watch your back as someone might come up behind you and say GOD BLESS YOU….BOO Got ya….LOL

My favorite photo is the elderly woman at the table, with a slice of bologna on a paper plate. The foil pie tin in the dish drainer. The washer and dryer in the kitchen. The homemade shelf. The cabinets needing paint.

This photo represents nearly every elderly person I know. We must take care of our elderly. They are a national treasure.
Finally, George Lange takes a photo worthy of his reputation. Job well done.

Scuse me? I wash out my pie tins and put in the drainer. We often eat sandwiches off paper plates for lunch, for convenience. Years ago I had a washer/dryer in the kitchen (hers looked like a service porch attached to the kitchen), the cabinets looked fine to me, didn’t appear to need painting, just a little elbow grease to clean.
In essence, you must have been looking at another photo, I thought it was clean looking. Bless all you people there helping repair things for those in need.

      BLUEBONNET……
Did you even read my post? You did not comprehend a single thing I said.
Did you even take a good look at the photo? It’s very heart-touching. Did you view it with your heart, as well as with your eyes?

I LOVED THE PHOTO!!! The elderly woman is beautiful. She represents the hardships of the elderly, on a fixed income.
For some reason, YOU inserted hygiene into it. Where do you come off saying her cabinets needed a good cleaning? She’s not dirty. She’s just not well off financially.

I felt the photo drew attention to her meal of bologna, not the paper plate.
I felt the photo drew attention to the need to wash out pie tins and reuse them, to stretch her dollars.
I felt the photo drew attention to maybe she could only afford a small home, so therefore there is no laundry room.
I felt the photo drew attention to the need to build her own shelf, and can’t afford to have her cabinets painted.
I felt the photo drew attention to the hardships of the elderly, on a fixed income.

This photo gave a sense of this lady being my next door neighbor, and I’m sitting across the table from her. The photo warmed my heart and made me smile. She reminds me of many elderly people, that I personally know and help out regularly.
In my opinion, this is the best photo George Lange has ever taken.

I said all of this in my first post. I guess it has to be spelled out in fine detail, in order for you to comprehend it.
I’m not well to do, and I live

Not to nitpick, but I see that each participant got a neon “volunteer” vest. Obviously, this is not something they are gonna wear to the grocery store, or mall or anything. It’s sort of a one-time deal.

If you’re trying to create a nation-wide service-to-others movement, wouldn’t it have been better to give them t-shirts that promote the idea; you know something they could wear all over the place and spread the message long after this event?

Maybe you should wait until the event is over? Perhaps it’s part of an overall plan to continue volunteering in every community represented by the volunteers?.

If I had a bright yellow vest with the word volunteer on it, I might be inclined to USE it repeatedly when I got home by volunteering more often so I could wear it more for it’s intended purpose.

The vests are REQUIRED BY LAW if you are working near roadways. You think you can just do work without Government interferance or something? Hell no! The Government must put thier two cents in and even cost charities to spend more money. The vest sa are really worthless too, but LAW RULES ib Government circles….

After our service, we turned the vests back in to Mercury One staff. They were not intended to be kept by the volunteers. Mine had been worn before, since there was a small hole burned through it.

why the need for a tee shirt, every time some one does something good for someone else, they don’t have to get a prize. they know what they did, they will remember it. and the people that have given their time and energy to this wonderful day of service will carry the memory with them for ever. no need for a tee shirt. this whole movement is nothing short of amazing. Good for you Glenn, and Thank you to everyone that was there for this amazing day.

When Obama came to power after cheney/bush REIGN OF ERROR, the DJIA was about 8000. Today under a smart President Obama, DJIA IS ABOUT 13000, up over 60% and an enormous increase in wealth for the over 100 million Americans who own stocks, funds, 401k, annuities, pensions.—————-Do you really want to go back to bad old days of pub control and in White House? Wait, you say, reagan???———–Under reagan/bush: 3 recessions, stock market crash, savings/loan scandal, Iran/Contra (reagan’s senior security aides go to jail), and ——–worst of all, the Marines dying in Lebanon and then reagan tucks tail and runs. PUBS CAN’T GOVERN, HOW MANY TIMES MUST THEY PROVE IT BEFORE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND?————Many Americans already understand because the top 10 richest zip codes voted for Obama in 2008 and almost certainly will in 2012.———-GOOGLE ANY OF THIS IF YOU DOUBT.

That’s really the best you can do? The stock market is not a good gauge of the economy. Remember the stock market was pretty high right before the 2008 collapse. So a high Dow Jones doesn’t indicate all is well. What does indicate all is well is low unemploylemt, high GDP growth, increased manufacturing and less people on welfare and food stamps. None of which is happening under Obama, and all of which you ignore in your brilliant analysis.

All your references are from the 80′s. Are you stuck in some time warp? Marines in Lebanon? More troops have died in Afghanistan during Obama’s 3 1/2 years than died during Bush’s entire 8 years. Let’s talk about that.

–”PUBS CAN’T GOVERN, HOW MANY TIMES MUST THEY PROVE IT BEFORE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND?”—

The only thing I see right now, is that Dems can’t govern. Do you actually ENJOY a crap economy and high gas prices….you actually believe this is a good economy??

@GOODSTUFF: Thank you, I was about to make the same reply. Dow is not always a good indication, as proof of the last couple of years with our economy at it’s worst.
This man has ruined everything from jobs, to bad investments that haven’t worked out.

Buddy, just look at Canada. Fiscally responsible conservatives have created a country where the average Canadian has $40,000 more wealth than the average American. DO you understand that the printing of money, i.e. QE 1 and QE 2, has inflated the economy and gives the “appearance” of the DJIA performing better. When the government prints/manufactures money, our money is worth less, hence the increase in prices on food and gas. You gotta wake-up, or go back and revisit your sixth grade math class. In order for things to be restored to normal, the gov’t has rein in all of the cash they “manufactured”. How will they do that? Tax increases.

one of the reasons for the gain is this, the price to buy a stock is nothing, you are seeing the gains. well when it starts out at the bottom very easy to show gains. Do your self a favor and do some research, the moment that obama was going to get the nomination, that is when the bottom started to fall out. the smart business people in this country saw what was coming and did what they had to to protect themselves. What you saw for 6 and 1/2 years of President Bush was 5% or less unemployment, record amounts to the treasury, and Other countries may not of loved us, But BY damn the respected the United States of America. How after everything Obama had done and you still support him, You sir are either so ignorant that you refuse to see, or so foolish that you are not able to see. this man has torn the very fabric of everything that this country stood for. Everything your family and mine have fought for, and every thing we hope it would of been for our kids. And yet you sit there blindly saying how smart he is and what a wonderful job he has done. How you could ever vote for this fool after everything he had done is beyond comprehension.

We got around it by editing the hosts file in windows\system32\drivers\etc directory but from what other members are saying, it looks like GBTV has fixed it on their end too.
