Deadly Protests Erupt as Socialists Slam Albanian Corruption

TIRANA, Albania (AP) — A political crisis escalated in Albania on Saturday as the government and the opposition traded blame for the deaths of three protests during a violent demonstration against an administration accused of deeply rooted corruption.

The Prosecutor General’s office said arrest warrants had been issued for six officers of the National Guard, army troops under Interior Ministry command who guard government institutions and senior officials.

Tensions have been mounting for months between Albania’s conservative government and the main opposition Socialist Party. They rose sharply last week when Deputy Prime Minister Ilir Meta resigned after a private TV station aired a video that it said showed him asking a colleague to influence the awarding of a contract to build a power station.

On Friday night, protesters overturned and burned police vehicles Friday night and clashed with officers who fought them off with tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon. Two men were fatally shot in the chest and another died of a wound to the head.

The United States and the European Union have both appealed for calm.

Prime Minister Sali Berisha said at a press conference the men had been killed by “bandits” within the protesters and accused the leader of the main opposition Socialist Party of attempting a coup.

“I am here today to tell that you were the one who organized the anti-constitutional putsch … for which you will have to face the consequences of the law,” Berisha said.

He charged that the demonstrators included “gangs of criminals, bandits, traffickers and terrorists“ trying to overthrow the government with a ”Tunisian-style” demonstration — referring to the rioting that drove out Tunisia’s president this month.

Socialist Party leader Edi Rama accused Berisha of being the “political orchestrator” of the deaths and he called for the arrest of Interior Minister Lulzim Basha.

In addition to fueling outrage over corruption, the Socialists have accused Berisha‘s Democratic Party of rigging Albania’s 2009 election, in which it was declared the winner by a narrow margin. The next election is scheduled in 2013, but the opposition has been calling for months for new polls to be held sooner.

The demonstration in the center of Albania’s capital, Tirana, began with about 20,000 people, but organizers claimed it swelled to up to 300,000. Police did not give any figures. The protest quickly turned violent, with people pelting police with banners, umbrellas, eggs and stones.

Police said 113 people were arrested on charges of violence against police and for destroying their vehicles.

demonstrations on Saturday, when the three people killed were to be buried.

Scores of people led by Socialist leaders laid flowers and lit candleswhere two people were killed.

Albania is one of Europe’s poorest countries. For nearly 50 years, the mountainous country of 3.2 million people was ruled by xenophobic Communists who banned contact with the outside world. That regime was toppled in a student-led revolt in 1990.

The nation descended into chaos seven years later following the collapse of popular investment schemes, requiring an international military mission to restore order.

Albania is now a NATO member and seeks to join the 27-nation EU, but corruption is widespread and unemployment is high.

    This is one of the plays in the playbook of the anarchists. Be careful and beware folks.

    The radicals are gaining power in this country and around the world and though I don’t think there is a chance of our government being overthrown in this manner, our constitutional republic was essentially overthrown when the Sec.of State in Minnesota worked hand in hand with the Soros sponsored progressives (Secretary of State Project) to steal the Senate elecion in ‘08 effectively giving the Demorats carte blanche to not only shove their progressive/socialist policies down our throats, but to allow the installation of a bureaucratic layer of unconstitutional czars to implement policies and regulations without senate confirmation and legislative oversight.

    Luckily we countered this socialist overreach this time, but will we be so lucky the next time? Our republic and freedom are not guaranteed and eternal vigilance is the coin of the realm.

    This will be coming here, I can guarantee you that! However, I do not think it will just be socialists! I think many Americans are fed up with the government and tired of it! I know I am! However, I would never side with these socialists! The only real answer is an end to the Federal Government as we know it in favor of sovereign states! This is the way it was supposed to be anyways! The Federal Government only has about 30 duties in our Constitution! They are well beyond that and it is high time that states assert their rights under the 10th Amendment!

    Let us remember Beckisnuts told us all that these riots happening are nothing more than a flash in the pan demonstrations that will go by the wayside. In other words, since these riots are not CONSTANTLY happening over in Albania, Tunisia, Spain, Greece, there’s nothing really happening and nothing to get upset about. We should just go about our daily lives as if nothing is happening around the world or as if nothing is happening in our country. Go back to sleep everyone! All is well! (said with sarcasm)

I am SURE there are a lot more ARMED bankers now.. why they aren’t charging the millionaire who are the public dole in D.C.     In America, the exceptional country, everyone can be rich AND powerful. That‘s why the socialists flock here and that’s why we’ve been indoctrinated over the past 5 decades to accept progressive principles everywhere we turn.

    They want us like sheep, and weak, so that a strong government can take over. They don’t like individual liberty and individual responsibility. They view everything in terms of collectives, and groups, can’t for the life of them see people as people rather than as large groups, which they generalize about. I say we hold each individual accountable for his own actions, and not relate to each other as mobs, or collectives, or anything else. This is a society of individuals and we ought to be treated, and treat each other, as simply that.

      I should also say that we need to get ourselves a real, honest to God. Department of Justice to deal with the real offenders once they’ve been caught. Otherwise it will do no good to run them down and charge them.

    If get into the habit of researching things to see if the reports are true, when things like this happen we are able to say to those who listen, “this is where I found it look it up for yourself”. I’m glad we are always reminded to do our research on things. Our young people are being fed a lot of crap in our schools and some are paying to be fed crap. I’ve always told my children, “don’t just go with the the flow, their flow might not be your flow. Just sit back and listen to what people say and how they act, they will eventually show you who they really are. Then you can decide for yourself. There are consequences to every choice you make. Its up to you if it will be a good one or a bad one.”

    I know we are supposed to have a First Amendment, but Francis Piven should be arrested for calling for violent insurection and prosectuted! She is NOT calling for the readministration of OUR Constitution but to overthrow the government and make it a Socialist/Communist nation! She is a traitor in every sense of the word and should never have been allowed to continue to do what she has over the years. Both her and Cloward should have been dealt with years ago!

One man challenged great grandpa to a duel of derbyboxing, and the first blow landed by great grandpa not only knocked the derby off, it knocked the guy clean out.

Alot of people want to throw stones at the rich people in this country out of jealousy but have you ever been employed by a poor person? I haven’t.       RobertCA is right on. In countries like this (Albania, Haiti, even Italy, all of black Africa, etc.), corruption is so wide-spread and inseparable part of their culture that any ‘new’ government will just be some else’s version of corruption and despotism.

      That is one reason why, for example, the CIA Factbook says that Albania has an underground (read: under-the-table, black market, shake down, bribing, etc.) economy that may be as much as 50% as large as their actual reported economy.

      Lets not forget the real picture with the ‘whole Albania-Kossovo’ thing. This two are set to create some sort of a conflict in the Balkans. The Albanians always have great plans for a greater Albania, of course at the expense of Greece. Given that lowlifes and ultra progressives (not to mention part of the new elitist new world order club) like the Clintons, Albright and lets not forget Kissinger, they created a situation in the Balkans that will remain ‘explosive’ so they can use it when ever they fill like it is time to start something big (lets not forget where the world wars started from). In this whole picture we have to add Turkey which Turkey never got over their “big ottoman empire” dream. What the media in the US are not telling people is that as I’m typing this at this very instant Turkey is on a full course of collision with Israel. After the flotilla incident the Turks wanting to be the new Muslim leader of the world (beware as they used to be) they are threatening Israel with all sorts of claims. In retaliation Israel cancel all contracts they had with Turkey (spy planes, arms contracts etc.) plus any common army exercises that were scheduled to take place this April and also they recall all Israelis from Turkey (Turkey did the same) and tough ‘words’ are flying back and forth from both sides.
      The bottom line is that that so called ‘country’ called Albania was created back in 1914 by the elites (mainly the British – divide and conquer) just so they can use it to stir up a fight mainly between the Greeks and the Turks. If these two countries go to war the whole place goes up in smoke.
      Watch what Turkey does and with the help of TRUE history you‘ll know what I’m talking about.
      Of course this is only one part of the puzzle that is being put together by the worlds progressives. Tunisia is another one France another. They will use which ever is going to create the biggest chaos and distruction as long as it fits there agenda.

      They may not see it happening exactly this way, but something very similar is what they have in mind. If Piven and Van Jones had their way, all Conservative Republican politicians would be dragged in to the streets and stoned to death. Next would be any and all known Conservatives in education. They would start with Universities because they need to cleanse their re-education bases. Then all CEO’s. Except of course the wealthy ones that give tons of money and support to progressives. The problem will be the students they use to do all the dirty work. In their blood-thirsty quest to punish the wealthy, rioters will end up trying to harm and/or kill anyone that looks like they have money. All our banks will be burned and destroyed. Then it would be on to wealthy farmers, and finally targeting average Joe’s that vote Republican. For this they just need to break into any county seat where voting records are kept. This is where they screw up.

      As the dirt-bags start moving on the regular God fearing tax payer folks, they suddenly encounter something they are ill-prepared to handle… the 2nd Ammendment.

      Yes blur and distort reality all you want, civil unrest along with riots have happened in the US before or were you asleep during the sixties.

      The progressives have been attempting to cause us to take to the street in violence, they don’t understand why we haven’t because they don’t understand the love and respect WE the people have for our country.

      We have no reason to take the threat of people like Piven and the rest of the progressive ilk lightly, in the end we with critical reason and reflection on tradition will be what saves this country.

      The “free-er” muslim nations are topling like dominos. How long before they rise up in France, Spain, Englad…take Europe and the Apocalypse begins, the final battle here in America when their numbers and the “law” embolden them (muslins) to go door to door demanding either conversion or beheading? Will you convert, or hold hands with your family (after the ammo finally runs out) saying the Lord’s Prayer, and die by the sword, KNOWING you will be together soon in Paradise?
      Fight to the death, then pray til the end.

      Who or what runs out first? 192 million registered long guns and hand guns in the Great USofA. If each of the owners had 500 rounds of amo for each gun that would be 960 billion rounds. In the Great USofA there are 3 million muslims here, if they came to our doors and would force the ideology (because islam is not a religion) upon us with their swords and each one of us used one round that would leave approx 960 billion rounds . Now per-say all 1.4 billion muslims visited and tried to force us to convert……again 1 round each used by Great Americans defending their Constitutional REPUBLIC that would still leave us with 958 + billion rounds.
      Looks like WE WIN they will be visiting their virgins. Hope that answers the question?

      math is hard, but that equation looks good to me….IF each American had 500 rounds. Now what about those who only have a mossberg 500 and 10 rounds and are surrounded and overwhelmed? My question to bothour points is does every American have this kind of store, and if not, do they have neighbors and community willing to stand for them? I have this kind of store and am a deadly accurate shot at 500 yards, or so my 7 time Marine Corps rifle expert badge tells me. AND I have some knowledge of the sniper’s philosophy and tactics, so bring your bullet-proof scarf when you venture into whatever neighborhood I reside in, because I am sighting in on your forhead. And you will take MY head when my K-Bar runs out of sharp.

      But you KNOW this is “best case scenario” and law of averages. there are many who will have the means, but not the heart to shoot “center-mass’ and will actually kill the invaders. Still many more who will not fire at all, thinking, hoping everything will be ok due to status quo. My question to all those NOT like us who will empty every chamber in the house still stands: “will you accept conversion and everlasting damnation, or will you sit and pray while (God forbid) you 6 year old daughter is being slaughtered by these satanists, knowing you will see her in paradise very soon?” I have asked myself that same question, being the fathe of a 13 year old girl and a 2 year old boy, and the husband of a VERY loving wife, and my answer remains. Asd long as i have rounds at my disposal or both my K-Bars in my hands i will fight and I will KILL ANY who come into my house seeking harm to my family, but if that wretched time ever comes, i will kneel with my family and paray, and we will smile, and the blades of the satanists will seek our necks, and we shall be joined together in paradise. And those convertersWill have to commit their mortal sins against us, but we shall all be free, as prescribed by our Lord in Jesus Christ.
