Texas Gov Rick Perry looked for a new hook with Iowa voters. Was his comparison to Denver Broncos star QB a legitimate one? The response from the audience was a mixture of applause and groaning:

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 4:51pmLook, Perry isn’t perfect. Far from it. But I’d pick him over either of the Progressives that are being shoved down our throat AND over Crazy Uncle Paul… that makes him my 3rd choice but whatever.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 4:38pmThe big lie is …we have no good candidates to choose from. When I hear this from the conservative base, they all are exposing themselves as frauds. Conservative pundits like Rush and Fox news like Hannity & O’Reilly constantly carry water for the Republican party by hiding the skeletons of their favorite candidates. We have only 2 decent candidates left who can pass the stink test with flying colors. They are the most conservative, fiscally and socially. Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum are the only two who have absolutely zero skeletons in the closet. Romney is an empty suit flip flopper, Perry is a weak debating crony capitalist who is weak on illegal immigration, Newt is a big government crony capitalist who supported cap‘n’trade, global warming, and many other liberal issues, Paul is a silly old weak waldo who supports legalizing all drugs and stink on foreign policy, Huntsman is basically a liberal running in the wrong primary. Michele Bachmann for President in 2012

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 11:21amPerry’s Texas record discloses that Texas made more jobs in the union while other states were on the skids. Standards count, he will put USA interest first, unlike our current Prez., We were founded as a Christian nation, like it or not, it is part of what made us great. If you are not a Christian of course you will disagree. But history reflects differently. And I love my guns, he will not be for taking our guns away.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 12:29pmAs a Texan, I can tell you Perry is a big problem for conservatives down the road. The Texas supreme court will soon be ruling on a case brought against his income “business tax” which is against the Texas constitution. Would a real conservative do such a thing? Not even Most Texans yet realize what he has done here. Add that to Gardisil and education for illegals. Those are the only things he has ever fought for that I have seen.
Report Post »He loves to stand up and act like he did all these conservative things that our legislature has done with no help from him. He is truly a RINO who knew it is easier to get elected in Texas when you call yourself a Reupublican.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 10:59amHmm, let’s see… Our economy is in the dumper, unemployment is near an all-time high, but Rick Perry wants us to vote for him because he‘s a Christian and he’ll address the critical priorites of gays in the military and prayer in public schools. Gee thanks, Rick. Go sit down now.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 10:58amglad to see that most everyone sees this idiot as glomming on to pop news and the reverb of the debate audience. He‘s the poster child for a liberal’s caricature of a republican.
As for Tebow–loved watching him in college–great to see all the “miraculous” comebacks–Payton Manning starts opening day for Denver in 2012
As a Raiders fan– that sux

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 10:31amI am for Perry, we know his warts. Evidence discloses the following about him: He is a small gov’t guy, doesn’t mind to cut taxes, loves his guns, is a man of faith, has personal standards that restricts his conduct and loyal to our country, got re-elected, a good gov. . His warts, squishing on immigration. Border states are under allot of pressure, before an illegal gets to the other states in the union they have to tromp thru a border state, lots of them never get out of the border state, causing extreme financial state related costs that the Feds. cause, Texas chose to handle like they did, if we were in there position, we might understand more. As far as the fence goes, examine all alternatives with costs assigned and make a logical, reasonable decision, with all the facts, which we don’t have right now. Obama wants the illegals because they are votes for him. So cut Perry some slack, we in other states don’t really know what the border states are going thru. The wart of brain freeze, it happens if a person is human, Obama has brain freezes, but the way he handles them is to lie and put up a smoke screen when one realizes it, you can take advantage of them. With Perry, there is executive experience and no surprises.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 10:07amWhy would you want to be a the Tebow of the GOP? I mean if you want to be a crappy 2nd rate QB who thanks God for his crapdom by all means Mr. Perry go ahead you’re already a huge tool. Nay, you are the tool shed. I wouldn’t want to underestimate you Rick, in your degree of tooldom and douche-baggery.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 9:49amThat’s funny. Perrry didn’t mention a WORD about religion. He talked about people’s criticism of his gameplay, he talked about the fact that Tebow won some college championships… but he didn‘t say a word about religion or Tebow’s faith. But you watch these comments fill up with: “ehem.. Perry lets keep religion out of this” as if Tebow is a pastor and not an NFL quarterback. No one is going to say: “umm, Mr. Perry, let’s keep football out of this debate” lol
He’s making an analogy of his success and a winning QB in the NFL, I don’t know whats wrong with that!

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 9:01amGlenn do you have any say as to what goes on this site? Top of the page “Gingrich Touts Conservative Creds,” a guy who you’ve laid out a pretty convincing case as being anything but. Down here on the Blaze equivalent of the back page you have a clip of Rick Perry’s opening salvo of the debate, but nothing on his plans to limit the time congress spends in session (like in Texas), have a balanced budget amendment to the constitution (like in Texas Constitution), and great national security points. Yes, in many ways Perry is a lot like Tebow, a legitimately humble man of faith with a winning record, hated by many for the same reasons envious reasons OWS exists. Rick Perry is basically the real life version of everything Connecticut born President George W. Bush tried to project as a Texas governor.

Posted on December 16, 2011 at 7:30amThe Blazes morning moderator sucks. By the way God isn’t going to manifest himself by helping Tim Tebow score touchdowns. If God was going to manifest himself in Tim Tebow then it would be by keeping him clear of scandal and gooing up the Chariot wheels of those who try to belittle him.
