Defense Attorney Claims Sandusky Showered with Boys to Teach ‘Basic Hygiene Habits’

The Jerry Sandusky defense just took an interesting turn.
In an interview with WHTM-TV, a member of disgraced former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky’s defense team attempted to rationalize his repeated showering with young boys by saying it was simply an attempt to teach the boys personal hygiene.
“Some of these kids don’t have basic hygiene skills,” Karl Rominger told WHTM. “Teaching a person to shower at the age of 12 or 14 sounds strange to some people, but people who work with troubled youth will tell you there are a lot of juvenile delinquents and people who are dependent who have to be taught basic life skills like how to put soap on their body.”
Huffington Post, however, notes the defense isn‘t something that was pare of Sandusky’s original justification:
When pressed about his showers with the young boys accusing him of sexual assault during an interview with NBC’s Bob Costas, Sandusky made no mention of any such instructional purpose, instead admitting to “horsing around” during showers with the alleged victims.
The interview, that will be sure to raise eyebrows, and pulses, follows below:

Why don’t you tell us exactly what your idea of “hygene” is and then we‘ll ask ALL of your alleged victims exactly what ’hygene’ lessons they learned from you. If all of the stories match up with yours, why it just might be your lucky day. If not, I would like to suggest that you hang yourself with ‘soap on a rope’ ASAP. That, at least, would be poetic and this story can quickly be put to rest. What’s alleged and what lawyers are saying is sickening.

She had to know it because she was in the house when he buggered victim number nine and he screamed out for help. Another puzzling thing is why she didn’t help him. Maybe she had the TV up too loud and didn’t hear, or maybe she heard and decided “better he than me.” Guess we’ll never know.

The wife may have stuck with him for a variety of reasons. Maybe he threatened her. Maybe she did think, as you suggested, “better he than me”. Maybe she feared what would happen to her if he was indicted. That would depend on how dependent she was on him, financially or otherwise. Pedo rings are very very dangerous to anyone who threatens them. Maybe she was afraid of being offed if she reported what he was doing. Another pedo involved could arrange to have her or anyone involved who “talks” offed. I fear for the current witnesses.
Now the wife may be complicit. If she tells all she knows, if she does know what was going on, she’d face jail time.
