Defiant Rangel Says He Still Loves Congress

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Rep. Charles Rangel says he still loves Congress, despite a showdown with colleagues over ethics violations that led to his recent censure.

Speaking to reporters Saturday at an event in Harlem, the Democrat appeared confident and as defiant as ever about the allegations. He received his punishment Thursday on the House floor.

But he saved his ire for the media, rather than his fellow Congress members.

The House found he had failed to pay taxes on a vacation villa, filed misleading financial disclosure forms and improperly solicited donations for a college center from corporations with business before his committee.

Rangel acknowledged some mistakes, but said he never enriched himself.

What other offering of speech could he make ? He’s got to be there 2-More Years. And..people being creatures of Habit x 10000 for Politicians. It would have literally killed him not to be able to remain in congress… Now read through these comments and find the Code Words for the better outcome of the Rengel issue.

Besides who would be better prepared to represent the “Numbers” Capital and City-Corruption originator,Harlem better than Charlie ? They taught Politics to Chicago… That‘s history of a different nature than you’ll find on Beck.
I don’t like the outcome, and hope the IRS indicts him on Tax evasion, but he beat the odds. After a 4-5 yr Trial, he’d get a year in prison if that making him 85yrs old or so.

He’s slicker than the Nazi Death Camp suspects that have been on trial in 3 Countries for 30+years.

You know what? Until the congress decides to reign in their spending, backs off the entitlement mentality, and takes higher moral ground when it governs this country; I just might hold back their paycheck for non-performance by not paying taxes on my income…hey; maybe I can wRangel me a sweet deal when punishment time comes.

I bet he does still like Congress. Where else can you get a free ride at tax payer expense. I mean, look at the perks and he was a veteran, ya know! Don‘t have to work very hard and every once in a while he can tour the neighborhood and talk about how he’s working to make it all better. And, every two or three years you can get with a group that goes to some foreign country where you can vacation and call it a fact-finding mission. Oh by the way, did I mention he has served for over forty years? That’s certainly enough to put you in a position way up in a committee. How can one use this to advance the progressives? And what else?

And he still has the audacity to be defiant. Defiant is when you are innocent of all charges and people keep pounding you about it. He was guilty as sin and, in my humble opinion, should have gone to jail or be forced to resign; and I say that as a parent and grandparent who thinks this sets a bad example to young people – there are consequences to cheating (and we wonder why there is so much cheating in the educational system) and he should lead by example.

Rangel in deeper with new ethics charge
New York Post ^ | 12/05/10 | ISABEL VINCENT and MELISSA KLEIN

The Federal Election Commission is investigating a complaint that Rep. Charles Rangel improperly used his National Leadership PAC to fund his legal defense on ethics charges for which he was censured Thursday, The Post has learned.

The FEC is acting on a complaint by the National Legal and Policy Center filed after The Post reported last month that Rangel paid nearly $400,000 from his PAC.

……. The NLP center expects to file a second complaint this week contending that Rangel’s PAC money included at least $195,000 in donations from lobbyists with business before the House Ways & Means Committee, of which he is a member.

“The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can’t get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods.” ― H. L. Mencken

Without ‘The Black Carcass’ you would have had a Large majority of congress, like 385 to 15.
At least your not Ashamed of what you didn’t do. I mean others have done worse? This Man will have to answer some day.

Congressman John Conyer’s Wife is behind bars. His son was driving His Catty and it was broken into. Stolen was Gov. Laptops and $37,000 worth of concert tickets. The stolen laptops had sensitive government information on them. Maybe Wiki-Dick got them so He can cut out Conyers.

Who has that many tickets to anything with a Momma in jail and His Daddy is in Congress. Why do you people keep voting for them. There has to be a better black Person in your district.

Next up Maxine Waters ‘From the South Central Hood’ in California, but She doesn’t have to life there. She came from East St. Louis and it’s 10x worse than St. Louis which is No. 1 in violent crime this year. Is that a coincidence? Maybe, b ut She’s doing something wrong.

Don’t forget Jackson from Mississippi, I think? with the $80,000 in the Frig. Do any of you even have 80k? I don’t. I’ve never seen that much. WAKE UP FOOLS!
