Delta Planes Collide on Runway at Boston Airport

Hundreds of passengers were reportedly evacuated from two Delta jets after they collided on a runway at Boston’s Logan International Thursday evening.
While taxing for take-off the wing of a large 767 passenger jet reportedly clipped the tail section of a smaller commuter Comair jet. The commuter plane is reported to have sustained major damage to its tail fin.
But thank goodness for small miracles. Aside from one passenger allegedly complaining of “neck pain” so far no serious injuries have been reported. A Boston Herald report states that most of the passengers weren’t even alarmed.
After the collision, the 767 jet reportedly returned to the terminal to unload its passengers, while the Comair passengers had to be bused back to the terminal.

If not now, I am sure Obama/ Biden will find a way to tax the situation. As one congressman said, “their going to do it anyway.” (reference was to taxing pot after it is legalized.)

But if the Pilots of the Larger Plane would of be paying attention, they would of noticed that the smaller plane hadn’t cleard the taxiway. Both at fault but more on the smaller plane for not moving the recommened distance off the taxiway!!!!!

Posted on July 15, 2011 at 12:22pmBe careful how you read the first paragraph! The two planes did NOT COLLIDE ON RUNWAY! The RJ was clipped by the 767 on a TAXIWAY….NOT RUNWAY (BIG DIFFERENCE). I love The Blaze, but please don’t get caught up in hype by making something sound much worse than it really is. I’m glad that no one was seriously hurt. And, try not to jump on the bandwagon about bashing ATC on this one. Although ATC controls the ground movement at airports, they are not responsible when aircraft don’t allow enough room on taxiways for other A/C to pass.
