Rep. John “Read the Bill” Conyers, D-Mich., speaking to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) prior to the “One Nation Working Together” march in Washington, dismisses the tea party movement and discusses all he and President Barack Obama have in common with the DSA. He is “honored” to be introduced by Frank Llewellyn, the DSA’s national director:

Posted on October 11, 2010 at 6:30pmI think they‘ve made the biggest financial mess that any government’s ever made in this country for a very long time, and Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other people’s money. It’s quite a characteristic of them. They then start to nationalise everything, and people just do not like more and more nationalisation, and they’re now trying to control everything by other means. They’re progressively reducing the choice available to ordinary people.

Posted on October 11, 2010 at 6:15pmDepartment of Peace….sounds like something out of 1984/Brave New World. One of the documents put out by the HHS(health and human services) regarding Obamacare is an acknowledgement that we are entering a “brave new world’ with their plans. And they make that statement with pride….
How is it that people who are out and loud about destroying the constitution of the United States are not held accountable for Treason? How is suppporting and endorsing destruction of the Constitution not an impeachable offense?

Posted on October 11, 2010 at 8:32pmAlthough I agree with the concept of Term Limits, I feel it would cause more harm than good. When a Congress persons last term rolls around they will sell your state or district down the river to prop themselves up finacially. I know they are doing this now but I feel it would be worse if Term Limits are imposed. Face it folks you can’t legislate behavior, the reason these fools are in office is because WE THE PEOPLE put them there and keeps them there. We have to come to the realization that staying informed and being involved in the political process needs to be treated like a second, third, fourth job! Then with the information at hand GO VOTE and get your neighbors to vote. For too long there has been a mindset that discussion of religion and politics is to be dicussed within the family and not outside it. The CRAMPS (Communist Revolutionaries, Anarchists, Marxists, Progressives, and Socialists) have know this for a very long time and get their memebers to vote, while we conservatives used family and work as excuses for not getting involved and saying “whatever”. Now we see what is happeing because of that “whatever” attitude, our country is on the verge of becoming a Socialist State. Term Limits NO, getting involved and staying informed YES.

One thing you gotta admit about Gyorgy, he’s smart. It is only the beginning, we are facing the devil in disguise. They feel so empowered right now that they are outing themselves and proud to do so. Maybe it took a radical offense on liberty for true patriots to open their eyes. I don’t condone violence, but my dear brothers and sisters, we are in for the fight of our lives. which is exactly what Obama has done and many many of our congress and senators have done as well.
It is time that we surround the white house and demand the law be enforced with out prejudice.
then we move on to congress and senate. demand justice.
Obama has committed treason on more than one account and should be held accountable by the American people.

For the love of God look into it or at the very least think about it for about three minuets. if we have what could be 50% of congress at every point in time knowing they don’t and cant ever run again they will have no reason to even fear there own base. out of all the problems it would cause it will most certainty not solve a single one. I ask you to look at how well term limits have done for the executive office.

Posted on October 11, 2010 at 10:53pmActually, Anarcho Capitalist, I agree with you. A few years ago, our city government changed from a mixed party rule to completely Democratic, both the Mayor and the Council. OMG! Rarely have I seen such infighting and back stabbing. Many of the new council members just couldn’t wait to get in there and throw their weight around. The older, more seasoned council members just sat back and let the “newbies” commit hari-kari. It was awful. The newbies had no idea on how a piece of legislation was passed, how to compromise and how to make long range plans or decisions. And no one was more surprised than the newbies were when many of them were not re-elected. Our long term representatives actually know what they are doing, know when to dig in and know when to compromise. They are able to work with other council members who have different political opinions and views without getting ugly. Our city is better for it.
There have been a few boards in my own experience that I have wished and prayed that some of the members would quietly disappear. You proabably know the old adage, “Be careful what you wish for, you may get it”? Well, I got my wish and some of them did move on. And their replacements were just unbelievable. So, I’ve learned the hard way that one must be very, very careful when one says “I’ll vote for anybody but __________.” because the other candidate may not be all peace and light either.

@ Anarcho Capitalist & Taquoshi
Government getting less done with greater difficulty would serve us much better than deeply entrenched incumbents pulling all the wrong strings, digging deeper into our pockets and living fat and sassy for decades on our thin dimes. It is easy to create ‘crisis’ mentality and mode. Career politicians make ‘crisis’ into art form to our detriment. We end up serving them, they fail to serve us.
Term limits is only a part of the issue, the solution, perhaps the smallest part. A diligent electorate maintaining vigilant eyes is by far the more critical fix to our ailments. The burden must always fall on ‘We The People.’ Passivity, disinterest and neglect never proves the easy path on matters that connect us all. Get involved, stay involved. This is our Nation. Let us act like it.
