Dem Congresswoman Booed at Town Hall for Supporting Obama’s Contraception Plan

Hochul Booed at Town Hall for Supporting Obamas Contraception Plan

Democratic Upstate New York Rep. Kathy Hochul may have trouble keeping her seat in the House after only just being elected in a special election this past May. Hochul has drawn the ire of her constituents after supporting the President’s controversial decision to mandate religiously affiliated employers to provide full contraception coverage to employees. The White House has since claimed to have altered the plan to find a compromise with religious groups by moving the weight of paying for the requirement from employers to insurers. Hochul‘s backing of her party’s leader infuriated many New Yorkers who came to a town hall meeting Friday to challenge the Congresswoman in regards to her stance on the issue.

WGRZ reports:

“‘Kathy why have you betrayed our Catholic institutions?’ One woman in the crowd told Hochul: ‘This President has lied to us repeatedly when he proclaims support for conscience protection in his infamous speech at Notre Dame as well as in the executive order he signed following passage of the health care law. He is not worthy of your support in this matter.‘ Another man shouted ’It’s an insult to the Catholics in this country to even listen to that gibberish. It is an absolute insult and Catholics deserve better. We were taking care of this country’s sick long before the government got involved in it.’”

Another constituent challenged the Congresswoman that if health care is really the issue at hand, why are Democrats pushing funding for contraception rather than more important persuasions such as cancer screenings:

WGRZ notes that the meeting was heavily publicized on local Catholic radio and many Catholic organizations encouraged people to attend and discuss the contraception issue.

Hochul Booed at Town Hall for Supporting Obamas Contraception Plan

New York’s 26th Congressional District had been represented by Republicans for all but 10 of the last 58 years. Hochul won a special election in the district last may after Republican Christopher Lee resigned amid a scandal involving shirtless pictures on craigslist.

More raw footage of this: http://bit.ly/wCuihY Here we have a sitting U.S. Congresswoman on video admitting that she thinks the U.S. Constitution does not need to be consulted for the HHS Mandate. She then gets schooled by a basic argument that reveals the liberal obsession with contraception. This simple argument should be a sound bite that truth-tellers repeat over and over.

It’s good to see that the old Jedi mind trick is still alive after all of these years. “We‘re not going to make you provide contraception we’re just going to make you buy insurance that provides contraception. That‘s like saying we’re not going to make you buy health insurance we’re just going to make it illegal to not buy it. Progressives are masters at turning the truth inside out. Remember Bill Clinton being questioned about his affair with Monica Lewinsky? “That depends on what the definition of is……is” Classic Liberal delusion…….

This woman obviously doesn’t understand the role insurance companies play in covering employees of corporations and institutions. Most corporations and institutions fund their own insurance programs, and hire insurance companies to handle the administration of claims, etc. Therefore, it is the Catholic institution paying for the contraception or abortion, and not the insurance companies.

Rep Hochul is a perfect example of the Democrats’ ignorance of how employers operate. She appears to be genuinely confused by the objections to this mandate. Ignorance may blissful for Democrats, but it certainly isn‘t blissful for those who are having the gov’t cram unconstitutional mandates down their throats.

If anyone chooses to use a contraceptive they can reach into their own wallet and pay for it themselves. After all, they are the ones benefiting from the pleasure. It’s not the Governments role to provide sexual gratification for the masses. If it was, we would have a free, Federal Government sponsored, prostitution agency.

There was a time when men and woman were responsible for purchasing their own contraceptives without the government forcing someone else to pay for it. Americans don’t need handouts of contraceptives. We’re not a poor starving country of uneducated people. What has America become and what’s next? Will the government start forcing grocery stores to hand out free toilet paper, or will they force insurance companies to pay for that too??? After all, toilet paper is a preventative health product.

That friends, is why democratic republics don’t vote on civil, unalienable or individual rights. The tyranny of the majority, right wrong or indifferent is diluted by the law of the land placing individual rights over a majority rule. Those that perceive themselves as the majority will always attempt to take these issues to referendum, they should always lose, especially when claims of conscience are attempted. Ironically conservatives have won in the courts where pharmacists have prevailed in there fight to not provide the “morning after pill”. Conservatives who applaud this ruling are rank hypocrites and this is why, they‘ve got no conscience otherwise the industry wouldn’t be regulated as it is period.

So the Tea Party would rather split the vote and elect this Obama lover and radical liberal instead of someone much more experienced because of what again???

As a socialist NoBama’s “religion” is the government. That’s the requirement to have a pure socialist society. All churches and organized religions cannot exist for a socialist government to exist. Doesn‘t matter if it’s Christian, Judaic or Islamic, etc. I don’t think he has any religious belief besides government.
Religions based upon social justice are not religions but more like a Sharia situation, political.
Real Democrats believe in “a hand up, not a handout.” But the Democratic party has been played.

Obama may have been testing the water to see how much he could get away with….how much freedom he could sneak away from us. I am happy to see people stand up for religious freedom.
This is not about women being able to get contraception or anyone saying they cannot have birth control pills FREE because they have that option ~ just go to any planned parenthood office and they will give them to you free of charge. This is about the government calling the shots on every aspect of our lives and taking away our freedom. They think they can frame this about women’s rights and everyone will just be quiet. I am glad to see that it matters to people….even those Catholics who may think contraceptives are okay are upset because they are telling the church what to cover. This is not about money. It is not going to be okay for Obama to say that insurance companies will pay because it is cheaper than the alternative of having the baby or the abortion. It is about the government dictating what Catholics have to do or pay for. And this is larger than just a Catholic institution because small business owners who are Catholic may also feel they do not wish to pay for this feature. They should be free not to.
