Dem. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver Calls Debt Deal ‘A Sugar-Coated Satan Sandwich’

Earlier this morning, The Blaze reported on the discontent over the last-minute debt deal that is steaming from both sides of the political aisle. While there have been a plethora of responses coming from conservatives and liberals, alike, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Missouri Democrat, was most creative in capturing his disdain for the deal. The congressman sent the following message out to his followers on Twitter:
Following this epic Tweet, Cleaver went on to send a litany of messages that corroborated his “satan sandwich” stance. At the heart of his disgust is the fact that he sees only cuts and no “revenue increases” in the compromise. Read below for more:
Aside from lamenting the fact that the debt deal goes against the teachings of world religions (Cleaver is also a United Methodist pastor), the congressman commented on the losses his party sustained as a result of the compromise. In a more recent Tweet, he writes, “Democrats got nothing in this deal, and if we did, someone please show it to me.”

While I’m personally huge fan of carb-filled delights, a sugar-coated Satan sandwich probably does have some less-than-palatable remnants under its bun. But, is this a decent analogy for the nation’s debt deal? I’ll let you decide.

What the world’s religions teach is that it is _our_ responsibility to take care of the widows, orphans, and strangers in our midst. I abdicate my responsibility when I foist it on government to take from others to dole our benevolences. I only take my responsibility when I personally supply aid. I’m more than glad to walk the homeless guy over to the Subway and buy him a sandwich. I’m more than glad to pound some nails into a Habitat home. I’m more than glad to support my church and certain charitable organizations that have a miserly overhead so the majority of my aid gets to the people in need. I’d rather not pass the buck (more like 20K/yr) to the government to go to their pet projects and people.

They could have solved this issue in the 1st two years they had full control of the house senate and presidency. Instead they pointed blame at Bush, danced in the night like trolls, went jetting overseas to kowtow to any enemy state we likely had apologizing, while putting up a middle finger at our long time allies.
Are we supposed to be so stuck on stupid, nobody can see through the Democrats facade? What did they do to HELP improve this country’s situation? Can any Progressive out there, tell me anything that makes sense, that the Liberals have done to make life better?
Stop the influx of illegals coming into the country? No.
Cut back on entitlements? No.
Be self sufficient and drill our own oil? No.
Let business spur growth in the economy? No.
So what in the hell were doing the whole time? Holding on to their seats (their jobs) and making life miserable for the rest of us. My mind might wander, but I still remember them holding the House while Bush was in office the first time around. But they‘ll have everyone believe they didn’t’ get control until 2006 or some crap. They been at this for far too long.
Commonsense has to take over the taxpayers of this country. Vote these people out in droves, take back our country.

Impossible even in the short run. Oil reserves in Alaska aren’t as large as you may think. We will have to rely on the middle east and (in a smaller part) Scandinavia for our oil.

Business had their most profitable year ever in 2010, smack dab in the middle of the economic crisis. I’m not even kidding here, look it up. Their most profitable year ever. Yet I see no job growth. The reason is simple: Paying wages cuts into profits so it‘s better to put more load on fewer workers and threaten them with losing their jobs if they don’t comply. The lack of institutions supporting the rights of the workers (and the few institutions we have being dismantled) isn’t really helping that situation either.

The reserves in Alaska are huge, combined with coal we have enough energy for at least 100 years, especially if we would get long haul truckers off the road and back on rails where cargo belongs, long haul trucking wastes billions of gallons of fuel a year, yet is exempt from all the regulations the liberals want put on other transportation, because it’s union jobs. We also now have the ability to create synthetic oil from waste from the timber industry for around $20 a barrel, absolutely no reason to ever buy a drop from a foreign nation ever, except as part of a program to redistribute out wealth to foreign powers.

If that happens investors will be able to get higher interest rates while the ponzi scheme to borrow trillions more to pay them continues for another 18 months or so. That way banks can buy more T-bills and increase profitability without having to go out and do pesky (and more risky) loans. And WE (and our children, grand children, etc.) get to pay for it!

Cleaver is a “reverand” in the same ilk as Obama’s mentor Wright. He amassed great debt as Mayor of Kansas City and was revealed to be a tax-evader during his first run for Congress. His base are the dependents of society in the inner city. He has to keep them pigeonholed in their poverty via entitlements in order to keep his voting base.
