Dem Rep Tells Union Members: ‘You Need to Get a Little Bloody When Necessary’

On Sunday The Blaze posted a list of SEIU organized protests scheduled in state capitals around the country.  Boston was one such location and yesterday union members and friends gathered to rally their support for the protests in Wisconsin.   The Dorchester Reporter was there to cover the event:

With a captive audience of core Democratic voters at their feet, U.S. Reps. Edward Markey, Michael Capuano and Stephen Lynch took turns rallying a pro-labor crowd, defending the collective bargaining rights of teachers, nurses, postal workers and other unionized workers.

It should shock no one that Democrats in Massachusetts were leading a rally for union members, but the language from one elected official slid into questionable territory as Congressman Capuano told the cheering crowd:

“I’m proud to be here with people who understand that it’s more than just sending an email to get you going. Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.”

The local paper added this chilling observation:

The crowd cheered and hooted for each Congressman as they spoke – the tougher the talk, the louder the reception.

A quick check of Congressman Capuano’s YouTube channel reveals that these comments have not yet been posted. It was less than two months ago that Mr. Capuano was on a TV report praying for AZ Rep. Gabrielle Giffords after she was shot by a crazy man, alleged at the time to be sparked to action by the heated rhetoric of our current political discourse.

    Just because you can throw together a protest with a bunch of kids and homeless people does not make you the majority. You are severly outnumbered and when push come to shove you will lose every time.

    How can one skew what this Rep. Capuano said? “…..Every once and awhile you need to get out on the streets and get a little bloody when necessary.” Perhaps the Congressman could elaborate for those of us who fail to understand what getting necessarily bloody on the streets means? Civility?

    I would love nothing better than to see police have to get involved with these union thugs. The libs need to realize, real fast, that this isn’t 1968. Americans are not going to tolerate much violence in the streets, there won’t be growing support for riots like happened during Vietnam. If anything, I anticipate the unions will lose whatever support they have if they start down that path.

    Gramma B, you are so right. Good workers can earn themselves better compensation if they don’t have the unions interfering. You can’t blame the employer, whether it is the taxpayers or private enterprise for not wanting to give raises to the whole bloody bunch when only 25% or so deserve one. I have never had a union job. I have always maxed out my wage increases every year on the jobs I’ve had. I don’t have to pay dues to overpaid union bosses who can only get me as much as they can get across the board. Since the civil war it has been the law of the land that people don’t have to belong to other people. I will not belong to a union.

      SO TRUE! Recently we required appliance repair, the gentleman was from Russia. He was very knowledgable of all things political. He had dire warnings to us regarding the U.S. loosing our PRECIOUS and FRAGILE liberities. In Russia for example, you have a heart attack, you call the ambulance and they joke about when, and IF they will arrive. Better to call a hearse, he said. He loves the fact that if you are stopped by the police for a traffic ticket in the U.S. you wouldn’t dream of bribbing the law, but corruption is so deep elsewhere it’s the ONLY way to keep out of trouble. He talks of the lack of privacy, government interference in ALL things, and not being able to trust anyone. Although he works three jobs here, he is happy because of the freedom, hope, and privacy he is experiencing for once in his life. Now that he has finally tasted it, he is afraid, no TERRIFIED, we will lose it here too.

      This folks is what’s commonly known as a Ponzi scheme. That’s all. It seems that between goverment and puplic employee union, however, it’s legal? I wonder? You see unlike in non-govern­mental contracts with labor a contact is nonbinding and nullified where an illegal action must be done in order to fullfill the contract. If it’s illegal to do then how could the contract be enforcable­? This is not so with the puplic employee union Ponzi schemes (retiremen­t, health, etc) that are mandated and managed by the unions with taxpayer money. No conflict of interest here. Look up “Ponzi scheme” on the internet. I wonder if public employee unions could be busted in this way? Anybody interested in a discussion­?

      What is the agenda in the broadview of where this is all going, violence on the streets and chaos in our country. This is their chance, their opportunity, the door now is open. What the Gov of WI, OH, TN, and the other states taking similar action is to get done what they are going to do and get it over with. More they play this game the more chance that it will get worse. It already has gone on too long in my opinion. The Unions and the Progressives would love nothing else than to have a civil war while the sitting President is one of their own. This way they can declare marshall law and take over once and for all. Look at the countries around the world, that is not happening by happenchance. It is organized and it is for certain reasons. We, the United States are the BIG target for the Progressives and the New World Order, if they can get us to fall then the world has no chance, not even Russia or China.       Keep your conspiracy theory garbage. Glenn shows actual links between people and organizations. Financial records and statements by the individuals involved. The Alex Jones federal reserve and banking conspiracy stuff is nothing more than wild speculation.

      Is the federal reserve a pisspoor operation? Absolutely. But everything that‘s pisspoor isn’t a conspiracy. Sometimes people are just stupid.

      I think your analysis is right on. Here is my scenerio. What happens if violence (meaning us against them) does erupt all over the US and 0bama calls out the troops to stop it and then takes over. Will the troops obey his orders and fire upon us? What I am getting at is this; the troops mainly come from us.
