Dem. Sen. Al Franken During Hearing: Obama Could be One-Term Prez

During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday on extending FBI Director Robert Mueller’s current ten-year term by two years, liberal Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) made a curious comment. He noted that Obama could be out of office in two years (via CNS News):
“I should note that President Obama could nominate a new director who would be there for ten years. And by extending you for two years–he is uh–in two years, he may not be the president, so I think that–um–that bears, ah, just a mention.”
Franken made the comments after saying he could support extending Mueller’s term due to a “unique set of circumstances:”
It should be noted that it seems the point of Franken‘s comment wasn’t Obama‘s term but rather Mueller’s, and he was simply trying to put it in perspective. It’s not like Franken was on the campaign trail or was caught divulging some secret, juicy gossip to a secret tape recorder.
But that said, it still is interesting that Franken let the comment slip in the heat of the moment. One would think that a second Obama term is so engrained in Democrats that the idea of it not happening would never come up on accident or as part of a larger point.

Posted on June 9, 2011 at 10:35amWhile I dream every night that Obama was already out of office, we have to look at sensibly. Obama has the gays, the Jews, the Democratic party, the inmates, the deceased, and the illegals voting for him. We are going to have to get all of our forces together so that we can make him a one-termer.

Posted on June 9, 2011 at 11:49amheavyduty: Who they don’t have on their side is GOD ALMIGHTY. They are anti-God in everything that they do and propose. I think I can say with assurance that WE ARE ON THE WINNING SIDE THIS TIME. When we realize that the battle is not ours, but God’s, then we will be able to defeat this evil on the left that has come against us and the Country that we love. Obama and his administration are anti-America as well. They want to destroy our Constitution and fundamentally destroy America…what part of that don’t we understand yet, as a people and as a nation? The choice should be abundantly clear as to what path we should take. As I’ve said many times before, the left is more afraid of us on the right, then we are of them on the left. They know they don’t have a snowballs chance in hell to win this time, because we will hold Obama’s record in front of their face for the next two years. We would deserve what we got if we reelected this disaster again and let him have four more years in THE PEOPLE’S HOUSE. I’m thinking back to the November 2010 election, and I say that the American people will replace this trickster in the office of the president of the United States, and replace him with a “real” President. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and Al Franken knows that Obama will not have a chance to be reelected, because America isn’t asleep anymore.

Posted on June 9, 2011 at 10:27amIt seems to me like Al was thinking ( I know hard to believe) out loud. And, his thought was; How can we extend Obama‘s influence even if he isn’t President in two years. Keep Muller for two years, or select someone else, of Obama’s choosing, and have that person at the FBI for 10 years.
@JENNYLIND I HOPE, We VOTE, for a CHANGE in President.
@13THIMAM Careful, Anybody but Bush, was a major contributor to us getting Obama. Obama is bad, maybe even the worst to date. But, perish the thought, there could be worse than Obama.

Posted on June 9, 2011 at 10:22amObama is looking to raise 1 billion dollars for his 2012 campaign. If he was doing a good job as president…..he wouldn’t need that kind of money. The people would vote him in regardless of his funding. The way I see it….this money is what he thinks it’s gonna cost to buy his next term. It also shows how irresponsible he is with money…as if the current economic situation we‘re in isn’t evident enough.

Posted on June 9, 2011 at 11:49amBelieve me, if George Soros wants Obama to return as our DICTATOR, then Obama WILL be re-elected because George Soros will find a way to finance it. Think of it this way: if I was a trillionaire, I would give the legal amount of money to my organizations (called funneling) then have each organization (non-profit, of course) donate to Obama’s campaign fund. That‘s how they ’WASH’ their money. ALL AMERICANS, regardless of your political preference, should VOTE in 2012. Make that election HISTORICAL. But I think the most important thing of all is the ELECTORAL COLLEGE. Who are they? Where do they come from? How do they get to be the chosen electorate?

Posted on June 9, 2011 at 10:22amFranken was not elected, but selected by George Soros and his billions, part of which was used to juggle the vote recount in Minnesota. Franken is a fraud and has no right to ever take a stolen seat in the Senate…unless it’s in Russia.
Report Post »MInnesotans were disenfranchised by this man as we were by the election of Mark Dayton where, again, George Soros paid for the recount.
By the way, Dayton is a total failure with his fried brain and brown nose from close encounters with both Soros and Clinton. Big party was held in New York at Soros’ home where Dayton was presented with a check to repay money spent on the recount.

Grammar people grammar. The proper phraseology is “by accident”. If you are trying to stake your claim as a legitimate news source, then please proofread your posts and avoid the simple mistakes that can’t possibly happen by accident (assuming the editors are literate).

Posted on June 9, 2011 at 11:36amI agree. I am a profession writer (by trade) and I have never seen such atrocious English, grammar, and themes (the way they are titled) in my entire life. I have e-mailed Glenn frequently and have asked him if he hires his writers directly out of college (Obama colleges) and so far, he has not responded. Glenn needs to provide PROOFREADERS and SPELL-CHECK. If he gets these writers from New York City, THEN THIS IS THE REASON WHY. Graduates from this city have never done well by national standards in English. All they know is “YO, BRO”. Go north for your writers, Glenn.
