Lee Whitnum Calls Opponent a Whore Over Israel Stance During TV DebatePolitics can be an ugly “sport.” On Thursday, this point was proven when the Democratic contest surrounding Connecticut’s U.S. Senate seat became so heated that Lee Whitnum, one of the lesser-known contenders, called opponent Congressman Chris Murphy a “whore.”

During a live, televised debate, Whitnum unleashed on her opponent, taking particular aim at his pro-Israel stance.

“I’m dealing with a whore here who sells his soul to AIPAC [The American Israel Public Affairs Committee], who will say anything for the job,” she said.

Whitnum also called opponent William Tong, a Connecticut state representative, “ignorant” during her tirade, which was part of the debate’s closing statements.

Murphy responded, saying, “I’ve advocated for the candidates to be part of these debates. I might think twice about that with that kind of awful language being used on the airwaves.”

Here’s how the Associated Press described the incident that unfolded at the Democratic debate:

Murphy, former Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz, state Rep. William Tong and Matthew Oakes each expressed disgust over the comments made by Lee Whitnum, a vocal critic of U.S. aid to Israel…

The five are vying for the party’s endorsement and ultimately to fill the seat being vacated by the retiring Sen. Joe Lieberman, an independent.

Oakes, another lesser known candidate, said he doesn’t believe Whitnum should be allowed to participate in future debates. The next one is scheduled for Monday at the University of Connecticut.

“And I was the one that spoke out loudest about including all the candidates,” he said. “The fact that she just attempted to ruin the good that I was trying to do is offensive to me. … I can’t in all good conscience say, `Well include us in the debates, all of us,” if she’s going to be that offensive.”

      Just type her name into your search engine. Almost every hit has as the topic of it’s first sentence regarding her being anti-Israel. Even her home page. She just tried to soften by saying that she is discussing a formerly taboo topic, then launches into a tirade against Israel. The Jewish people of this country need to wake up and see these politicians for what they are. This constant Israel bashing has lead to physical attacks on Jews here already. They are truly bringing out the anti-Semitism in some people and especially the OWS crowd.

      Actually, while she might have a (D) next to her name, she may have just said something extremely poignant and necessary. The Republican party is mainly comprised of neo-conservatives in this day and age and they need to be stopped. They are as much a threat to this nation (more so if I am to be candid) than any terrorist. They are driving us into debt and subsequent slavery and while they are at it they are helping the rest of the world to hate us.

      While her demeanor in calling someone a “whore” is not nice or polite, she has a right to say what she feels just like any other person. Seriously, if I am going to extend the right to life to a group of black men who hover around the OKC area calling themselves the Israelites and saying that white people are the devil and should all die, then I can deal with letting this woman, no matter her political stripe, call her opponent a “whore”.

      She’s only speaking the truth. Why the criticizing? If any other foreign lobby held so much sway and influence over the American Congress and President then you’d be angry and upset; however, since this is a Jewish lobby you make exceptions. It’s so very disturbing and sickening that mere words can’t even describe it.

      As it stands today if one doesn’t bow down to AIPAC and the Jewish whims you get no Jewish money thereby basically eliminating any and all chances to serve in the US Congress or as a the President of the USA.       Well it is the upper echelon of current Republican Party but I agree they are a far bigger threat to this Nation than any terrorists and I would even wager that most so called terrorists have far more respect for our Constitution than the typical Neo-Con does. But lets face it most Republcans today are not much more informed and not that much more Conservative than the actual dumbocrat.. They simply take their cues from FOX News, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the Neo-Con pundits and they set off marching with them…

      One exception is Mike Church (XM right 6-9am) His knowledge and wisdom puts Mark Levin and the rest of the Neo-Con talking heads to shame.. and I swear I believe Shawn Hannity is gay.. He’s about the most pathetic excuse for a Conservative as they get.

      I don’t see the Middle East as getting any better with or without Israel. If Israel had never existed in 1948, the Muslim Brotherhood would still have existed. It started in the 1920s & was a the result of the Egyptian defeat around 1887/8 by the British. If the British had not invade Egypt & there had not been coup in Iran in 1953 & no Israel in 1948, would MusIims really be happy people & no kiII us? I think not.

      I agree if a person can deal with black racists in OKC then what she says is small potatoes.

      While not directed at me and although I don’t have a precise definition off the top of my head I will try… A Neo-Con is first and for most a Globalist and a Free Trader. They despise Nationalism. They believe America has a part to play in every conflict on the face of the earth. They believe that the President has the right to declare Wars under the War Power Act. They use our Military as a means of economic gain for their CEO buddies throughout the Defense Industry. They promote open borders and globalism all in the name of free markets of course. Like your definition stated they are former liberals so in that they continue to promote the melting pot notion.. In other words they were very happy with the passage of the 1965 Immigration Act which has almost destroyed our Nation. Finally, they all wholeheartedly support the Federal Reserve and our current financial system. And they really don’t give a flip about abortion, marriage and moral values.. Indiffernt at best many anti-Christian.

      I support Israel and I am a member of CUFI. However, I do not support conservative-socialism for any country, which is the redistribution of wealth from American citizens to any country abroad (this includes Israel). If we are to support Israel lets do it individually. Would you rather have government subsidize the poor with welfare, or have individuals help through charity? Why is Israel different?

      I can’t stand conservative-hypocrisy. We either have to be the party against all forms of welfare, whether or not they hide under the name of foreign aide, subsidy (farm), exception, benefit, tax shift or join their club and jump on the socialist bandwagon. We need to have integrity; we are going to lose elections because we have lost our principle. How can we continue to win elections when we pass the precipice of voters reliant on government cheese? The Republican & Democrat Party is melting into one.

I mean after all….the Federal Government behaves like one every day…..for example….ranting about tobacco smoke and even going so far as trying to ban smoking in ones own home……BUT at the exact same second….every day…to the tune of billions of dollars a year…the same Nanny State Federal Gang….gladly accepts and spends every penny just as soon as she can get her grubby federal hands on it….she spends the excise taxes she collects on tobacco.       Reminds me when watching Billy the Exterminator, I did not realize how some of these un-assuming critters can rip you apart, if they feel threatened. The episode on the armadillo was an eye-opener to me as far as this one was ripping apart a backyard but when Billy said this critter is a boat-load-carrier of many diseases including leprosy.
      We are living in some interesting times & it is going to get more nasty. It seems people that feel defeated are really lashing back like this lady did. Yikes!

    Since the democrats do not like free speech (they are always trying to shut down anyone conservative) I think that this Lee person should apologize … and DROP OUT OF THE RACE. That is what the left would be demanding so as Obama likes to say .. “DO WHAT IS FAIR”
