Dem. Campaign Worker Accused of Stabbing Neighbor to Death Over Dog Poop Incident

A volunteer campaign worker for Democratic D.C. council candidate Kevin Chavous will appear in court Monday, the day after police say he stabbed a neighbor to death over dog feces. WJLA-TV reports that Ellsworth Colbert has been charged with second degree murder for fatally stabbing next-door-neighbor Robert Wright Sunday morning after Wright‘s dog allegedly defecated on Colbert’s yard.
“That’s a terrible way for somebody to die get stabbed over dog poop,”Kevin Chavous, D.C. Council candidate for Ward 7 that Colbert had been supporting, told WJLA. “Just about everybody around here has a dog.”
The Washington Free Beacon reports court records show Colbert has been in trouble with the law before, having been arrested at least seven times in the past for charges including assault.
“In Ward 7 we‘ve lost a lot of young men to violence like this and it can’t be tolerated. And it’s unfortunate and both families are in my thoughts and prayers at this time,” Chavous said, who indicated that while Colbert volunteers for Chavous, he is not involved in campaign leadership.

Second, it also doesn’t justify the perp to attack/stab him. Victim should have respected his neighbors by at least bagging the poop. Third, I never walk my dog without pistol in pocket. Someone comes @ me with a knife anytime, anyplace….they will be shot….center mass!

A human doesn’t stab a man to death for dog poop. Animals do territorial things like that. Posted on March 5, 2012 at 12:30pmNow I do get upset when I have to clean up poop from an inconsiderate neighbor when their dog, who is suppose to be on a leash at all times poops in my yard, but I don‘t think I’d go so far as to stab them. I have considered scooping up the turds and putting them back in their yard, but since I have not been able to catch the culprit red handed, I have not been able to do this. I have a suspect in mind, but it seems he lets his dog out late at night and real early in the morning when people have gone to bed or still in bed.
You might say, why get upset. Well when it cost me money to reseed the area where they poop and piss because it kills the grass, that is where I draw the line. I keep my lawns weeded and green and it takes a lot of work and I don’t need some crappy neighbor damaging my lawn when they have their own that the dog can damage. Why don’t they, well the association issues fines on homes where the grass isn’t taken care off, so these inconsiderate people damage others lawns.
