‘Opposition Research’: Dems Ask Pentagon For Info on GOP Presidential Hopefuls

ABC News has learned Democrats are already preparing cases against potential GOP presidential challengers. The Democratic National Committee has filed Freedom of Information Act requests for correspondence between military agencies and nine potential Republican presidential candidates.

From ABC:

An internal Army e-mail obtained by ABC News indicates that the DNC has filed Freedom of Information Act requests for “any and all records of communication” between Army departments and agencies and each of the nine Republicans — all of whom are widely mentioned as possible challengers to President Obama.

The agencies are asked to respond to the request by this Friday, just four days before Election Day.

The nine Republicans that Democrats are seeking information on are former Gov. Sarah Palin, R-Alaska; former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass.; Gov. Haley Barbour, R-Miss.; Gov. Tim Pawlenty, R-Minn.; former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark.; former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga.; Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.; Gov. Mitch Daniels, R-Ind.; Gov. Bobby Jindal, R-La.

Such requests are typical in the world of opposition research, which involves casting a broad net for publicly available material that may at some point prove embarrassing or incriminating to political candidates.

They’re not going to find anything anyway.

The real story that we are all overlooking on this blog is that Hillary is situating herself perfectly for a run in 2012. She is quietly watching the collapse from afar (literally, during her Europe trip) and will be in a great position to swoop in and save the day for the Democrats. Just wait.

In all seriousness I am not comfortable with Ron Paul or Sarah Palin as POTUS candidates. Either one would be great as running mates (VP) but the MSM will run them through the wringer and throw everything, including the kitchen sink at them. Whereas a young gun like Cantor, who is sharp as a tack and quick on his feet, could break them down and deliver the knock out punch that causes the progressive movement to implode.

Hes the exact same as every other neo-con you’ve seen in the past decade. We dont need more suave. We need a good sand blasting.

I agree on Palin. I really dont feel safe with her anywhere near the white house. I like Dr. Paul for VP though. If such were to happen, he would really outdo whomever the sitting prez was.

Exact opposite to what we want. We want the American people to be globalist in their thinking so when we bring order to chaos, you will gladly let us rule.

Will we see the mainstream brush Dr. Paul aside again? The man is a good man and a good christian. He stands on a rock of principle. Young people favor his true conservative values, and i pray that everyone will start to listen. Lord knows he hasnt stop talking.

A clear sign the left has conceded defeat for this coming Nov. 2nd election cycle. We need to pay attention here don’t we? The left has seen the effectiveness recently of VERY negative campaign ads which falsely accuse their opponents of any number of “sins”. They are obviously preparing for the first salvos of 2012. They won’t hold the information for an october surprise moment this time. Instead, they will begin disqualifying candidates as soon as possible in an effort to delay any momentum by a candidate. In previous elections this was a much too costly strategy for a party to employ…draining much needed funds too early on candidates which may not actually make a run for the office. This time, however, the stakes for the left are too high. The Tea Party ideology must be forced to stall…run on a treadmill if you will. Expect to see negative ads in local districts very early. It used to be true that political parties would poison the crops of their opponents…now I fear they are going to poison the earth first.

A reprint in my local paper has completely and undeniably put a lump in my throat. Apparently, some schools have decided to implement the Tony Blair Foundation’s ‘Face to Faith’ Program as part of the “Partners for a New Beginning” commitment instituted by Bill Clinton. All this stems from Obama’s call for a “new beginning” between the U.S. and the Muslim world!

So now, more than 120 American schools will be going beyond textbook discussions of world religion to engage directly with their peers in Muslim-majority countries by means of on-line video-conferencing. This is being instituted in order for students to learn and discuss their respective religious beliefs and values so that they might develop a better understanding and tolerance of each other’s religion. It’s all couched under “global issues of common concern” and “how individual beliefs/values shape a better understanding of these issues.” With all the problems our country is facing, is this really what is needed?

It’s all falling into place now. We get rid of the Pledge of Allegiance in our classrooms. We get rid of the reading of a Bible verse and bowing our heads in prayer. We take out the singing of “America” (My Country Tis of Thee) and our national anthem. And, we replace these things with the interactive study of ISLAM!! We abandon an understanding of our religious heritage, our history, and our Judeo-Christian ethic, and we replace them with revisionist history and a longing for a better understanding of ISLAM – radicals from which have caused nothing but death and destruction around the world for decades. On any level, does this make any sense at all?

It isn’t enough that NASA has been turned into a goodwill ambassador “feel good” organization to the Muslim world. It isn’t enough that our taxpayer dollars are being used to build mosques at home and around the world. It isn’t enough that while we kow tow to the Muslim regime in Iran, they continue to thumb their nose at our olive branches, criticize our every move, preach hatred and death to the infidels, and move closer and closer to the realization of nuclear weapons. It isn’t enough that our foreign relations policy consists of bowing to Muslim leaders and apologizing to them for every sin we’ve ever committed – real or imagined? That’s not enough?

It may have taken a few decades to accomplish this, but it is done. If some sanity doesn’t return very soon, we can kiss Christianity goodbye and say hello to Sharia Law. Ladies, pick out your head scarf material. Men, start collecting your stones. All that remains is for the American people to re-elect Imam Obama as Muslim dictator of the U.S. in 2012, and the deal is sealed. Obama, who believes in ‘collective/community’ salvation verses individual salvation is the perfect foil for this high priority transformation of America.

And the Tea Party movement is ‘extreme?’ Their candidates are ‘kooks?” Give me a break! Patriots, the time is nearing to pick up the pitchforks and lanterns and go about the serious business of taking our country back. It starts on November 2. Appeasement, excessive tolerance, and political correctness have no place in the “shining city on a hill.” These things are not what have made our country truly exceptional, and they will not serve us well going forward if we are to have the future we desire for the generations of Americans to come. Barack Obama was an experiment which went terribly wrong. It’s time now to put the ruling class out to pasture, and for the country class to come home again before we wake up one morning and fail to recognize the country we inherited.
